As a member I find a rather annoying a sites Directory and Handbook being sent incomplete as it only states a minimum price and the need to ask for a separate price list to be able attain the true cost of ones stay.
Considering the membership fees and the high cost of C.M.C. sites for only minimum comfort sites i.e. toilet and showers and a place to park I think the lack of complete information hints of a lack thought for people who supply the funds.
If anybody uses Archies camping a full pitch price can be seen with each site a lot easier than looking on the club site.

This is not how it should be.

But you would download it at home where I imagine most people would have a reasonable internet connection and view it offline when onsite. No need for site wifi. Although the file size is  2.2 MB which I reckon even  most Club site wifi could cope with.

Bottom line is that we have been provided with a product catalogue which does not disclose the price of said products.

As much use as a the famous chocolate fireguard.

Can't see a problem, all you need to do is find a site you want to go to ,do a dummy booking and that tells you the total cost ,if you think that is OK then book it ,if you think it's too expensive then don't and find somewhere else

That could be quite a large number of dummy bookings to find a site in the required in the price bracket as the Sites Directory does not reflect actual cost, which is why a price list should be with handbook.

I really can't remember the last time I used the sites handbook.  I do everything online these days.  It has the site fees online.

I think that the Club are being greedy with the increase in prices this year. As a pensioner on fixed income I have to depend on CLs more.

I also note that except for ones that start on the 30th there are no mid Week Discounts in September this year.

That's where you have gone wrong , it's not a club ,it's a leisure industry

The 'problem' is simple Husky. The CC went off half cocked with its rush to please some vociferous members, who thought a 12 month rolling booking system would be the best thing since sliced bread, without thinking it through. Pretty simple really IMO.

Both, with a limited income all things are taken into consideration distance, location, and price not necessarily in any particular order

The club is not a charity. Maybe consider C&CC which provides an age discount?

As noted this year 2018 the price up dates were only available as a download or by post,so it is no different apart from not having out of date prices for 2020 in the directory, I do think that the from price in the directory is a bit of "underhand" marketing (or even a bit misleading) when the majority of bookings will be for a pitch and two people

Just had this response from HO, bvm. Not good enough in my opinion, but what does one expect!!

"If you wish to request a copy you would either need to call or email us mid January so we can send you one in the post. We are unable to pre-order pricing supplements."

Doesnt anyone realise this not a club as such just a name ,it is being run as a profitable business hence the name change without any consultation with the "members" and the way the from per night pitch pricing has been done I think it is a case of lump it or like it or go somewhere else the membership fee probably just about covers the cost of the monthly mag .I have paid my subs for 2019 but after that possibly 42yrs in the club may end !!

Nobody could mistake the club for a charity some may even question its commitment to those who pay the fees.
But I think for me it's the comparative high cost of basic comfort sites toilet showers and parking the club provide,a lot of private owned sites offer a higher level customer service at a more Competitive price in the same area, it's not a case of if you don't like go away but any changes or price increases must be open for debate as to why.
I'm sure at lot people like me belong to organisations or clubs that they pick out aspects which useful to them but it should bar them from having a view on parts they don't use.

I stand to be corrected but I think its a standard charge of around £3.90 a night extra regardless of site.

You are of course quite right, it is no more a club than the AA or RAC  are these days. I look at location, facilities and price and find that in terms of value for money (taking all into account), commercial sites are becoming if not already better value.  The pricing of Club sites seem to be generally up there with many commercial sites who are offering far more than the basic facilities of a club site, they need to up their game to match the prices!

We all  have differing likes Fingerman. For me I don't want more facilities than I find on most club sites even though some may find such facilities of value. To me they are not

    Thanks Nellie.

As you say, but what does one expect! Why couldn't they say that in their initial reply to our e mails? At least we know now.

I suspect no paper copies have been printed and the powers that be have been caught out and are feverishly trying to get some copies printed, or perhaps not, and they might just be equally feverishly hoping by mid January we will all have forgotten about it and the issue will have quietly gone away!
