How's your footy team doing?

No thank you!
I wouldn't turn Steve Bruce down though I suspect he's a bit too expensive for us poor souls. Quite fancy Paul Hirst who did well with Shrewsbury last year and might be able to gee up the supposed super strikers we signed from them at the start of the season (but who don't seem able to hit a double width barn door for us! ). There's always Ian Holloway, Rovers through and through but I suspect his time has gone.
Please, though, anyone except Steve Cotterell!

Perhaps your owner will think outside the box and sign an unknown from Europe, it worked for Town.
If not then you're consigned to getting someone off the manager's merry go round.
I'm currently struggling with the decision whether to go to the match this afternoon. The weather forecast for us in the Pennines is dire with snow followed by freezing rain coming just in time for kickoff.
The players will be ok on that lovely under soil heated pitch😉but getting home again could be difficult.
I guess I'll give a coat of thinking about in another hour.
Be safe if you're going out this afternoon

Why does it always happen to us?
We play at the swamp on Boxing Day and we had a realistic chance of getting a draw but now will Man U experience a new (temporary) manager bounce?
We're at home to Southampton on Saturday and they're just getting a bounce from their new manager, they beat the gunners last weekend.😱

The Alex succeeded in scoring in another away game, but sadly twas an 'in off' into their own goal, and manager Mr Artell got booked for offering his glasses to one of the match officials -- think he might have been drumming up business for S*** s***** again
Happy Christmas everybody, Happy Christmas.

Glasgow Celtic still retain their usual position at the top of the League. (How boring for the regular fans). I only go to Parkhead about once a season now, much prefer to go and watch the local football teams competing in the minor leagues. Those games are great for the spectator, what the players may lack in skill, they make up for in commitment and enthusiasm.

I've asked Santa for a new goalie, a new back four, three new midfielders and a couple of new strikers because on last Saturday's showing Town are not even a decent Championship side at the moment.
A very merry Christmas to suffering supporters everywhere

Trellis, I've long owned up to being a Crewe Alex fan altho' now seldom attending.
If you only own up to successful sides remember Crewe V Tottenham 2 == 2 at Gresty Rd in FA Cup -- replay Dahn Sarf Tottenham v Crewe 13 == 2 Joke Fodder for Beer Hall Comedians .
Following year in the same round at The Lane Spurs == Crewe 5 == 2
And a Happy Christmas to you, mate

Stoke Lost
P' Vale Lost
But Poor old Crewe Alex Won against Division Topping Lincoln
And, Trellis THATS the reason we support the less than successful / wonderful lower division teams. This Crowing Bliss seldom comes our way, but when it does WHOOPEEEEE.

Well as much as I appreciate the Magic Wand being waved to some effect over this blooming awful IT system, I'm rather pleased it seems to be having a 'magical' effect on the Alex' results as well !!
Even tho' it was but a simple 1 -- 0 win over Stevenage it matters little except that's a brace of consecutive wins -- hell of a way to finish 2018.
Brian's now hoping that 2019 continues the same way 'cos that would be a Win Win Situation.
{ With apologies to those peeps who are not too happy with that piece of modern jargon }
I Hope sincerely tho' Folks**, your team(s) are keeping your interest at this time of year
** Shades of HUGHIE GREEN ??

Stoke lost, 'Vale drew, but, alas, Mighty Crewe went down 3 -- 1.
It would be too much to hope that they would have won three in a row but six (6) points out of nine (9) will be a consistent boost for my spirits if they continue in this vein till Easter
P.S. / Edit The only good things to come out of the Potteries are over cooked Oatcakes which are useful for supporting your caravan's levelling legs { but please don't tell those Potherbs what I said }

Well, the Tigers certainly mauled Bolton yesterday with a 6 - 0 win - their fifth win in a row. And who would have thought that Leeds would have lost to them as well.
Hard to believe that from languishing in the bottom three a couple of months ago, they are now within spitting distance of the play-offs. Still a long way to go in this difficult Division where anything can happen, but Nigel Adkins seems to be working his magic again!

Well Rovers have a "new" manager in Graham Coughlan who has done a good job since taking over on an interim basis. Not absolutely sure if it's the right choice but having seen the display on NYD he does seem at least to have got the confidence and respect of the players and it was certainly a huge improvement on the last few performances under Darryl Clarke. Time will tell, starting at Accrington next weekend. First priority must be to get climbing the table; we're still in a very perilous position with some really tough games to come towards the end of the season.
