Earlier in the year Rowena was quick to come on to dismiss a suggestion that the club was going to start charging for dogs. So hopefully we might get a response before long!

Is there any chance the warden was winding you up in an attempt at humour, WTG?

Incidentally, I’ve reported your OP as a means of asking Rowena to seek clarification.

i have had a similar suspicion WTG from something said to me but no mention made of what was on the cards. It would make sense alongside the rolling booking system.

Hi everyone, I’ve checked with my colleagues who have advised that the Club regularly evaluates the payment terms and conditions. In the event that payment terms change, members will be involved in the process, and of course notified of any changes in advance.

Thanks for that, Ro. Presumably, then "members will be involved in the process" implies that the report is incorrect, at present anyway, unless "involved" means paying (a deposit!) wink

    Deposits....?

It works for the entire rest of the leisure travel industry.......!

Including the CCC who can keep their membership fee down to £39......

If I had to guess I expect it will follow the CCC model and be non refundable within, say, a month of your booking, subject to certain extenuating circumstances....

Like the CCC I would expect that bookings cancelled more than a month in advance should be refunded.....?

Why would you change your USP when you have a system that already works for the majority of your customers???

True but that does not affect the operating model and may attract all those new campervan owners?

I think the rolling booking is a disaster so this may well be the nail in the coffin.

Not a disaster with deposits, a good commercial move.

I have no objection to a booking fee, but I do hope they don't introduce the C&CC online booking of 2 nights minimum and at peak times on popular sites can be 3 nights minimum. That's why we use CMC for overnighters.
