We are in Angers today (thanks Tammygirl, nice site) and its omg hot hot hot. Been in Spain and France for quite a few weeks now and today is the first time I've thought it's too hot.

Oh and the mozzies are biting here, had so few bites so far but tonight I'm being nibbled to death.

It was indeed, Tinny.  We picked them up at about 4.20pm (they close at 4.30pm on Sundays).  They were still warm when we sat down to eat them at about 5pm in Redruth.  Had a Berrymans the other day (long story), but not as good (Or as big) as Philps, IMHO.

I’ve not tried Berryman's but have sampled most of the rest. Verdict - Philps are simply the best. laughing

Yes the Electric Smart will have everything that my existing Smart has plus more, such as a reversing camera. However, using everything can reduce the range.

Like you say, most cars have aircon but they are not fitted as standard in caravans. We had ours requested as an optional extra when first ordered at an additional cost of about £2000.

Glad you made it there, it was very hot when we were there reason we left earlier than planned. Sorry to hear the mozzies are a bother, I think it depends where you are on that site some pitches seem to suffer more than others. The swimming pool is lovely (if you like pools).

    Enjoy smile

I got my work rota for this week. I'm due to work 18:00 to 23:00 Monday, 17:00 to 22:00 Tuesday, 18:00 to 23:00 Wednesday, day off on Thursday, 17:00 to 22:30 Friday, 16:00 to 23:00 Saturday and day off Sunday. So total of 27.5 hours.

Whilst at Tesco this morning, we bought some new music, 100 Rock hits consisting of 5 CDs for £5. So we had an afternoons entertainment listening to it in our comfortably cooled air-conditioned caravan! One of our Tesco 10 pence bags for life got a split in it, so true to their word, Tesco replaced it free of charge for a new bag and the old one went into the re-cycle bin.

We also bought a few items of groceries including a 6 pint carton of milk, a pack of classic selection dips and 2 cartons of Tropicana Orange juice, all paid for using my Tesco debit card and thereby earning me double points.

As a substitute for others I occasionally by a Warrens since the local shop in Yeovil seems to be doing well. Years ago I toured their bakery in St Just, is it there now I wonder? smile

Dentist and builders today, plus some rain overnight, nice to hear it.

Decided to leave the van on this CL and return home solo.  Will return to Pembrokeshire next Friday for the trip to Skomer.  Had a shower or two last night and the wind is light to moderate but still comfortably warm.

Has had some good reviews Nellie. May be some traffic noise from A41 but I suspect a good choice. We are on CC site at Rowan Park, Bognor Regis. For a few more days having spent 5 nights at C&CC Salisbury. Visited Pulsborough RSPB yesterday. Probably coast today.

Enjoyed Scottish Borders despite mixed weather. It was nice to visit Braithwaite fold again on the way back.

Just a shame the prices at Tesco normally are so much higher than Aldi and Lidl so we tend to to save far more than any points  we get when we pay the bill on our Tesco credit cardwink

I find shopping local saves me money. Plus putting money into pockets and wages of local people makes me feel good. I only do very basic shopping in any supermarket.

I am glad you have made your decision OP. I hope the Skomer trip works out for you next time.  It is a long treck back and forth for you with or without the caravan.

Yes but Aldi and Lidl don't offer reduced price food.At Tesco you can buy this at between 10 to 25% of the normal price and bread even cheaper. My wife has several times bought large French sticks of bread for just a penny each!

Also it's convenient. Whilst I'm at work, my wife goes there with her shopping trolley just before 7 p.m. when the reduced price bargains become available. Then she buys food and prices for much less than Aldi and Lidl. She often gets home with a trolley full of bargain price groceries. It's only 15 minutes walk for her from the club site here whereas Lidl would mean having to get on a bus to Worthing town centre.

Another lovely sunny day here. Having got up this morning, we switched off the sircon and opend up all the windows to get some fresh air before it gets too hot. Right now, it's pleasantly cool with a nice breeze!

Hopefully, the lovely weather will put my customers in a good mood so that I can earn some generous tips tonight! Anyhow, this morning, it will be a trip to HSBC to bank all the cash accumulated over the last few days, as my wallet is bulging at the seams and needs emptying into my bank account. A huge amount of coins was accumulated over the weekend and today I will get more drop money and tips, so I need to make space in my wallet to carry them!

Another fabulous day here. Still the very refreshing (chilly?) wind so no humidity 😃, Windows open flyscreens down for fantastic airflow. Windout sun canopy deployed again 😂😂. Sitting relaxing whilst I catch up on here, write the motorhome diary, reply to a couple of emails, both rather overdue, and drop a line to daughter with photos then contemplate our next stop off so a hard day all round 😉. Will have a walk when it cools down later, didn't get the early one with company today 😢.

We can hear a faint bell ringing and wonder if it's a bouy near the wind turbines? But not heard before a little yesterday evening and wouldn't say the breeze is much if any stronger. Every evening we have 2 huge fast flying moths. Just a couple they appear to be brown and a bit furry but too quick to really define. I assume they're hawk moths. There are also lots of starlings which keep appearing in murmuration style too, day and evening.

Wherever you are whatever you're doing enjoy your day.

Ps not seen anything from Helenandtrevor recently - hope they're ok.

Yes I've wondered about that site, yet to try as quite close to our son's. If we're calling by in the motorhome- we often do as we wander around the country, we use Ferry Meadows and they come to us. Waiting for them to ask to use it themselves 😉.  Do let us know if you use it. Notice there is one at Gidding which would be closer still.

In order to use the supermarkets it would mean a 32 mile round trip, so after fuel costs they are not that much cheaper, only more choices. When we are away in the caravan we tend to use them more, if there are no local shops, or for their late opening hours.

At least you can keep an eye on winds speeds and fingers crossed you'll make it to Skomer, it would be a shame to miss it after all the planning.

You could always shop online, cariadon. Tesco do home delivery using refrigerated vans. So no need for that 32 mile round trip!

You don't have to. Other supermarkets do home delivery too.

We stayed at Oaklands Farm CL last summer and would highly recommend it.

Its spacious with lots of pitching options around a gently sloping field. Some pitches were stoned but grass also an option.  Village of Stilton a short distance away, not much there really a shop and pubs, went to quiz night.  It was tough 😳

Yes a great CL just how we like them.... no facilities just electrics and fast wifi.

Do you ever wonder why something isn't working after a grandchild has visited. We found a pendulum for a wall clock stuffed down the back of the sofa today.....wink

There's been a bit more cloud cover today, at least in the middle of the day, but it hasn't done much to reduce the temperature or humidity. So we've had to resort to our favourite shady walk - the woodland walk at Trellisick - followed by lunch at The Punchbowl & Ladle (it would have been rude not to call in on the way past!) wink

Ha ha - that sounds familiar brue!

Great that you could get away  Goldie. Relax and enjoy your break doing nothing. You deserve it.

I went to a grandparents afternoon at our 8 year old grand-daughters school today. We were offered biscuits and cold drinks, shown all their work and displays and the teacher came round and chatted to us about our grandchildren. Such a lovely idea to involve the grandparents. I had a very good report about our grand-daughter and feel very proud.
