OP we are at Ludham from 10th to 17th June and then Seacroft from 17th June to 26th June if any of those dates would be convenient to you. Let us know when you get back to the UK. Enjoy Jupiter and Venus. No chance here as there is too much light pollution unfortunately.

Could be worth investigating the possibility of a blockage, before condemning the machine. Rule out the "easy things"first.

I probably will but we are away soon so don't really have enough time at the moment. I need to get it out and have a good look and the back where the hose connects. Even watched a video on YouTube on how to change the pump! When we are back we will have trip to JL to have a look at what they have, also a good excuse to use one of our tea and cake vouchers!!! I am almost looking for an excuse to buy a new one but it would be nice not to be forced into that.

If all goes to plan we're at Ludham 17th to 21st June, then Incleboro 21st to 24th, inc leaving and arriving dates. As per Millie, let us know when you get back if anything suits.

We had a small dishwasher fitted with our new kitchen 6 years ago. Dislike it intensely 😲. Filter has huge holes, I devised my own adaption with the mesh of plastic sieve, which helps a bit. Dishes to be rinsed and soaking required for any dried on bits. Rarely use it, very disappointed. The grotty dishes need to be hand-washed and glasses, crockery and cutlery can go in there. Wrong way round in my opinion. I don't have to prewash my clothes - but do treat stains, before using my washing machine and it works. Waste of cupboard space in galley kitchen - in my humble opinion.
I hope you can get yours sorted David. I agree it's certainly not old. But nothing is made to last these days - better to chuck it out and start again! One day domestic appliances will get the same expose as plastic about polluting our wonderful planet. Rant over 😉

We used to have a similar model, though ours was only about 30 years old.
It decided it had had enough so we had to replace it with one of those mechanical ones, We must be on our 4th model in 46 years, they don't make them like they used to!

Moved our motorhome to new storage yesterday. Immediately took advantage of the facilities and gave it a good wash a vac. Then checked the tyre pressure, they have one and we noticed it's very popular. Tad achy around the shoulders today but will have to work through it to finish gardening, including refreshing 2 large tubs, barrel size 😲. Plus tomorrow I must knuckle under to housework - where does the time go and the dust come from? Maybe almost 2 weeks away followed by a busy week?? How did I fit in work? I presume my shoulders will feel better in a week or so 😂😂.
First I have to walk into town to collect my sandals, I've had extra fastening added.
I hope I'm not jinxing things by saying this we still haven't had any rain 😲.

Oh! that is a very fussy DW! Pretty much everything can go in ours, though oven dishes with burnt on food are usually soaked and hand washed as they take too much space.
Our first one was sort of 2/3 size Kenwood which we had about 5 years, sold it to a neighbour and swapped to a full size Electrolux in 1977. We had that till 1993, when we noticed a burning smell one day, so it had to go! I remember the year as it was when our son graduated and we had a house full of visitors.
The next one was a Bauknecht, which we must have had at least 15 years, It developed a water leak so was replaced with our present Bosch, so it must be coming up on 9 or 10 now. Older than I thought!

Glad your Grand daughter is ok Millie, a very worrying time for you all.
I have never been without a DW all our married life. Our first lasted 27 years! Neff, very efficient. When it finally expired we bought a Smeg, Italian junk, within 11 months it was playing up. Got it replaced under warranty, 11 months later, same again. This time fought and won for full refund, bought another Neff. Now in its 6th year, never any problems. A lesson learned for us. I detest washing pots of any kind. Hope you get sorted DK.

Had a productive morning
. Up early ( for me !! ) fed the tweets & myself, then checked the traps. No contents there so went off to Middlewich ( Nearest Lidl ) and only met three lots of detours due to road works 
. Got a stock of Formil bio tabs so should be good for this season at least. Now I'm going to strip the plugs/sockets on my EHU leads while enjoying the cricket commentary on T M S .Hope you all are enjoying yourselves contemplating your next trips away, replacement d/washers, latest D I Y plans, the roses growing, whether it's really worth watering the garden .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

OH never wanted a dishwasher, although the kitchen had space and plumbing for it (the dog basket used to go in the space) then a friend offered us her old one as she was having a new kitchen with fitted kitchen appliances. When that finally broke about 5 years later OH decided that he rather liked having a dishwasher so we bought an AEG which lasted about 15 years. That finally broke when we had a houseful for OH's 70th birthday. We were all in the garden when youngest son came rushing out saying 'should there be smoke coming from the dishwasher'! We now have a Bosch which must be over 10 years old as OH was 80 last year. Everything goes in there apart from big oven dishes because as KjellNN says they take up too much room.

Been a lovely few days here in Royan, first time here but it won't be our last. Good site, good cycling, good weather and the site swimming pool is lovely and warm. Tried it out this afternoon when we got back from our bike ride. BBQ for dinner sat outside and still outside even now, sun still out and still warm but not sticky as we have a nice breeze.
We have a Magpie nest in the tree next to our pitch, there are chicks in it I think as the parents are doing a lot of coming and going. Haven't seen any little heads yet though. There is also a Cuckoo somewhere nearby as we keep hearing it but no sight of it so far.
Hope everyone is well (glad your better brue) and enjoying the good weather if you have it.

Went shopping in local town then had coffee where we could observe the storks nest. Baby stork put in an appearance, and moments later a Red Kite began circling the nest until mummy stork put up a very aggressive stance with a lot of beak clashing. Went for a drive this afternoon around the tank ranges and Hohne camp before returning to site and dinner with my brother. Just started to drizzle a little but temperature still a pretty good 20C.

I think the modern dishwasher is the best of modern inventions. I can understand what Bakers2 is saying but it sounds like a slimline model which one of our sons has and it does seem more of a fuss than a full sized model. I think a dishwasher does make you a bit lazy as you tend only to wash up once a day. The couple of days without one we have had to keep on top of the washing up throughout the day. I suppose it's a good lead in to our trip which starts tomorrow so just getting into the swing of tea towels a couple of days earlier! It will probably be another Bosch (same as Neff, Siemens). We are just lucky we have not had to wash up after a big meal with guests!!!

I think it saves a lot of water if you just use the dishwasher once a day rather than keep washing up throughout the day.

Funnily enough, I just loaded the dishwasher earlier this evening and went to turn it on when Mrs M came into the kitchen and said "what about those two mugs"? I calmly explained that the machine was full and there was no room for the mugs. How wrong was I? So I left her rearranging things and muttering under her breath - I know the second word she used was "hopeless" and I'm assuming the first one was not as rude as I thought it was!

Waste disposal units are excellent, seem to be little known in UK.
We fitted one in our previous house, back in 1982,and brought it here with us. Since then, 1988, we have had 2 new ones. One of our oldones is in use at our daughter's house and will go with the house. She has already requested a new one as her Xmas present!
We have an Insinkerator, American make and excellent. One of the things we miss most when we are away in the van. At home we have no food waste to dispose of, it is al ground up and goes with the waste water. So no smelly bins here.

MORE strimming ,trying to keep the grass and weed's at bay !! Shifted a boat from one mooring to another,late tide's so late home for cooking etc !! Another warm and humid day here in East Kent,26 degree's,slight Northerly ,backing to a Westerly ,no rain though !!0

We travelled down to Devon yesterday,and are now sited on a lovely CL not far from Bideford. Very peaceful,fell asleep listening to the owls

The argument ran in our household about which way the cutlery should go in the dishwasher (I don't like knives with the blades sticking up...) OH asked our restaurant owning nephew at one happy family gathering in the kitchen which way they should go. Of course nephew said they should all be up not down so since then I have let OH arrange the ***** dishwasher as he pleases.…..
This has worked well, if only he knew how to operate the washing machine with such precision I would be even happier. .
