Had to do the same thing recently and I am sure they provided instructions on where to send it back. All this should be on the Sanef website under your account.

Don't forget you have to activate the new Tag before you use it, also in Your Account section.

I think they last about 4/5 years. If you visit "My Account" on the Sanef website it actually tells you if you need to replace the tag as it comes up with the message "near expiry" Apparently the batteries can't be changed. If that is the message you get you have to order a new tag and pay a new deposit but when you send the old one back they refund the original deposit.

We started to have intermittent problems with our tag last September (it was about 5 years old). This manifested itself by a slow response to the motorway barriers lifting and I sometimes had to reverse slightly and approach the barrier again. When I returned home I rang Sanef and the replacement process was simple. As said above, don’t forget to re-activate your new tag via the website.

Sanef has two separate tags - one for France and one for Spain and Portugal.

As I understand it, you have to buy the French one first, then add the Spain and Portugal one.
