Happy Birthday, Helen. Are you an Octenagerian yet?😂

Roofers finished by 2.30. Looks good but need some rain to test it out.😁 So as the sun has finally made a trip up north we decided to go for a walk and have a thirst quencher half way round. Caravan all spick and span. Only 9 more days to go😁😁.

The Fleece Hotel in Cirencester is very dog friendly they have their own "bar" with snacks and bowls for water which is on tap,and dog beds for them you just take them to where you are sitting, not "cheap but good food can recomend the fish finger sandwich, also the Bear pub is very dog friendly with similar dog facilitiescool

Many Happy Returns for today, Helen. Hope that you had a great day.

WN, glad to hear that the roofers have finished, but don't go wishing for rain because as once it starts it never knows when to finish.

TG, with a bit of luck the fine weather should reach your area tomorrow, as we has a fine sunny afternoon after a dull start to the day, and the temperature got up to 19C by mid afternoon.

We drove over to Lanercost Priory this morning as it's been many years since we last visited, and then up onto Hadrian's Wall for a short walk. Finally visited Kirklinton Hall and gardens, a 17C ruin which is undergoing restoration. Managed an hour sitting out in the sun in my shorts, for the first time this year.

Phew! What a scorcher! Pitched up at Cirencester Park and it'seems a real stunner of a day. The site is pretty full even midweek, although I don't think the grass pitches up at the top of the site are in use yet. Amazing how good weather cheers everyone up - lots of happy campers around and the present warden team seem particularly pleasant and helpful.

Steven,  if you read this, do you know where your seasonal pitch is going to be yet? The ones I've spotted are on the wide grass area to the right as you exit the site - very spacious and well away from any noise from the college. They look very tempting! smile

Thanks, and you enjoy Cornwall too! One of our favourite spots and walks on the south coast is to park at the little waterfront church at St Just in Roseland and walk over the fields to St Mawes for lunch and back in time for a cream tea. A lovely day out. smile

Gosh what a scorcher!!  Hottest April day since 1949 apparently. So we have had the coldest weather for decades, the wettest weather for decades and the hottest April day for decades - all in the space of about 8 weeks!! I hope all those of you away are making the most of this glorious weather.cool

We went to our storage compound today and it is drying out nicely. They were hoping to cut the grass today and tomorrow. OH is going to sterilise the water system and do some other maintenance jobs on the caravan tomorrow.

Well we finally got the sunshine today, got up to sun and then it went all cloudy for a couple of hours but it did come out again around lunchtime and stayed out until setting. smile

Got more jobs done on the van and went for a bike ride. Then a couple of hours in the garden, topped off having a cuppa and piece of cake sitting on the decking enjoying the warm sunshine cool

We've been looking at cruises for January '19 and have decided to try somewhere we have never been before. Fly to Dubai for 2 nights then sail to Singapore via Oman, Goa, Sri Lanka, Phuket and Panang  then 2 nights in Singapore before flying home, 19 nights in total. Feeling excited and nervous all at the same time.smile

Another fine day here too, although it did cloud up around tea time. We had a 3 1/4 hr walk from the site much of it under the shade of the trees in High Stile Woods. Then a couple of hours sat out in the sun reading, in shorts and sandals ( no socks wink). Would think that the temperature was well above the forecast 15 C. Hopefully it will be similar tomorrow when we move onto Dumfries.

brue, it has been hovering around 25 - 27 degrees here today according to our thermometer, even hotter in the conservatory (and hotter still in the greenhouse according to OH). Slightly cooler tomorrow and then thunderstorms on Saturday evening - hey ho - that is British weather I suppose.  We are just enjoying it while it lasts.

Tammygirl.  A friend and her daughter have just come back from a similar cruise to the one that you are contemplating (although theirs started in Abu Dhabi) and they have had the most wonderful time. I am very envious.

When we talked with the warden, when we stayed in March, they said they would also be using those pitches in September. Yes they do look good, we are looking forward to it.

Lovely 🌞day yesterday with a top temperature of 27C more of the same for the coming weekend.  😃. Had a really good walk around RSPB Pulborough Brooks, it’s the one place that I know guaranteed to see/hear nightingales.  Mrs One coming down to join us this morning then off to Fort Nelson to see the poppy splash, 1st WW memorial.  Rest of the weekend taken up with family duties and dog walking.  Return home Monday after picking up the van.

I keep meaning to visit Fort Nelson but, like most stuff on your doorstep, it's a bit "mañana". Fortunately I saw the poppies when we were away in the van last year in Essex, so it hasn't;t become imperative. Watch out for cyclists along the top of the hill.

Did I miss something? Not like me 😲😲😲

CY where did you see the poppies in Essex? I saw them at The Tower, and love the inspiration, if those are the correct words to describe 😢 the new installation and hope to get there before October.

Awoken to another warm day 😆😃 it makes me feel so much better than the grey days. Stripped our bed down to its nothings 😉 and at present all undercovers are in the washing machine. That'll be the last of the beds deeply freshened for another while. 😇😇

Checked out and paid for new storage site, starting 1 June we due to pay old storage on 6 June so hopefully more benevolent gods are smiling on us now. Things have been going awry for us since about lat June, we had noted those of significance hoping to get to a number divisible by three! Total currently stands at 30. Fingers crossed were are turning the corner. OH taking motorhome for MOT so hope our change in fortunes contine. Not a moan just an observation.

Whatever you have planned enjoy your day and hopefully the weather.

Oneputt there's one place I know where I'm guaranteed to hear nightingales 😉 on a day like today I'd love to take a picnic and sit and enjoy them. Shame I have chores but who knows - tomorrow? Enjoy. Maybe we could have sound recordings on here 😉😉

TG I'm sure you'll love your cruise choice, Singapore is something else! Must schedule another stopover there as they change it so well and so quickly. Can't comment on the other places or cruising - not something either of you fancy but those who've done it love it and I know you're experienced on that front.

Nice sunny day here too. It would be a nice weekend to be going away in the van but we have a family christening tomorrow so can't gocry. If the weather is still nice later on we plan on having a BBQ and hopefully a few beers out in the back garden. Hope everyone else has a nice weekend.

Francis don't often hear about christenings these days, best wishes to the receivee  (no idea on the right name 😉). Is it on a Saturday?  Again unusual as normally part of a church service around here. Yes I realise it' religin but I'm curious, I don't want to discuss religion.

So long as the sun is shining I intend to enjoy it home or away 😉. Home for us. Good news or us our motorhome has passed the MOT so could be a continuation of cleaning 😲
