CAMC sites now getting too pricey

Have you taken note of the name of the site,

ps there is a great Aldi next to the Hospital 

No wonder its damp at Moreton on Marsh then!

Actually far from a favourite site but convenient. 

So what, I've seen pools and small lakes at heights of over 2000 ft.

If a camp-site is wet it's because the drainage has not been constructed properly.  Probably due to the fact that the CMC prefer to spend their money constructing supermarket car park lookalikes.

Most CMC caravan sites are of a similar standard. . Clean, tidy but un- inspiring.

I enjoyed the site 20 years ago but less so now but it is certainly OK David I probably prefer lower key an less service

I think one of the most interesting aspects of using Club Sites is their location and diversity. This no doubt stems from the age of the Club to a certain extent, and adds to the likes and dislikes of the whole membership. Whilst you could walk into almost any facility block anywhere in the country, you would instantly know it is a Club Site (the hairdryers alone give that away!), many are very, very individual, and this perhaps keeps a lot of folks happy and means that all needs are covered. Some sites are almost as they were 20 years ago, with a nod to h&s, equal opps and other must conform regulations. Some reflect the wants and needs of newer members and have a lot more on offer. Some are small, some are large, some are linear some are a series of small horseshoes. I suppose that this in itself might be a source of disappointment to a few, finding that one site is so different to another, but we are all guilty of valuing different things.

I do think some sites appear a tad expensive at times though, and the Club is certainly guilty of profiteering at the expense of members during school holiday periods. But no differently to any other holiday experience provider. There's an interesting business marketing exercise there for any Leisure students looking for a project, how the Club balances its income across sites over the year?

Old Hartley is among the few Club sites I have used, mainly due to there being no competition in that area. It tends to be slightly cheaper than other Club sites mainly because they have a no awning rule but IMHO they are still overpriced and the pitches are cramped. 

The picture that Corners painted of the Club site he is on summed it up for me (to quote);

"It doesn't look like that on this site. I see a lot of expensive outfits with the cars & caravans, motorhomes all look pretty new."

Now that is what has changed, many members own old outfits and towcars, where are they camping? Without wishing to insult anyone, maybe the reason some use the CMC sites at any price is the same reason some people use Waitrose and would never visit Aldi/Lidl.

I don't think they give what I want,  We stayed at Betys Coed and were allocated a pitch, not an ideal position for us so we asked to move and were told not possible as we would have to move all the others around so C&MC giving choice on arrival from whats left is much better, same as C&CC marching you to pitch, not fir us....  We had same at Sandy Balls, even though the site was half empty still allocated a pitch and it was like we asked them to move the earth when we said we would like to change pitch!!!

Location of Betys Coed was great though and we would return.

It is a limited company and when the auditors look at the accounts they have to sign off to say the company is a going concern, if it is not then by law it has to call in administrators!!!

Weren't Carillion audited by a Big 4 accountancy firm?
