CAMC sites now getting too pricey
We normally prefer to say on CAMC sites because of the consistent quality of the pitches and facilities, and we don't usually have a problem paying a premium.
Just looked at booking 2 nights this coming weekend on the Bridlington site and the cost for 2 people on a standard awning pitch came out at £67 - unfortunately this (in my opinion) is too pricey for mid April.
We then looked at a commercial Adult only site not too far away and booked the same 2 nights on a fully serviced hard standing pitch at a cost of £44, so you can probably guess where we will be staying this weekend.
Bridlington has just had a major revamp which has nearly doubled the number of pitches - so are the high prices being charged a way for the CAMC to recoup costs at our expense?

Congratulations on the penny dropping Gary. Like many of us, the exodus away from Club Sites is gathering pace. Sometimes they are good value, sometimes not, but no harm in shopping around.

I don't blame you Garry, that's why I mainly use CLs.
Interesting to see if they manage to fill all those expensive new pitches.

Garry, it sounds as though they have you as a captive customer. There are alternatives - and the internet is a wonderful way of finding them.

I think part of the problem is that the club seems to have extended peak periods beyond what could be reasonably expected.

But that is next week, this weekend is still Easter as kids are off, did you see how much your super duper site would cost this weekend?
Not condoning C&MC costs as we too find them expensive this coming weekend due to Easter but they are OK at other times and in line with CL costs taking into account you generally have EHU, facilities and HS. Non facility sites are (except Thetford at weekends) in line with CL's at £14 a night as it includes EHU and HS.

We stayed at Bridlington CMC site last year before the school summer holidays and thought it disproportionately expensive compared to other Club sites with the same level of facilities. Obviously the location and it was certainly pretty full. The site mentioned by the OP doesn't appear to have any convenient public transport nearby? An important consideration for us. Just shows you have to consider lots of things not just the headline price of the site.

It's not still the Easter holidays here (or in Bridlington). I think the CMC extend their peak time to include all eventualities in school holiday planning.
We rarely use Club sites and prefer CL's or smaller commercial sites.

I don't think I would want to pay those prices unless the site was well placed for nearby facilities or could offer more onsite facilities like Hillhead. In the area I'd be heading for a coastal CL or similar.
We're off to Hillhead soon because it has midweek discounts and unlike Bridlington no ongoing building works on site.

On the other hand, we have just taken a look at Stamford site. £12.75 per night midweek, that's way better than most CLs, and our sort of place for cycling and dog walking.
There is a very nice CL with a small private site adjacent, showers for both areas at Barmston. Much closer to Bridlington (horrible town, but the outskirts and surrounding countryside are lovely!) CL is half a mile from coast, couple of miles from Burton Agnes, adult only. Very very nice place. Rectory Farm I think it is called.

BRCP certainly looks good value. Even next week when peak prices end Bridlington is £54.80 for two nights on a service pitch. Peak at BRCP is £50 away from bank holidays, which are slightly more expensive. I would be interested if anyone has personal experience as I can't find any reviews.

I'm another finding CMC to be too expensive. We are going away next week and it's to a C&CC site for that very reason.

Dorset schools are still on holiday down here so the holiday period stretches over three weeks but it's fairly quiet now out and about. I think the club might have attracted more people if they'd ended the holiday prices a bit earlier, mid week each end perhaps?

We too are finding club sites are getting expensive, and peak periods are getting longer. We tend now to book more CL'S if we used all club sites we would probably only have half the amount of breaks.
Edit: Last year we wanted to visit RSPB Bempton, we stayed on a CL, we had stayed at The Bridlington site previously and liked it but the cost this time made us look for a CL.

Thank you, that is good to know. I tend to check bus stops out on Google Earth and couldn't see a bus stop but GE is often out of date! Even at the Bridlington site the service is only every hour which given the popularity of the area rather surprised me.
