    Good Morning all,

Haven't been on here much lately as OH in hospital.

Sad to hear of your neighbour Brue, the Air Ambulance is a vital emergency vehicle and should not rely on donations to keep going.

Suppose Malcolm that wardens of last season would not have met this years Wardens, and the fact that you are living on site would not mean anything to them, you are just a caravanner. What you should have done was spoken to them to confirm all was in order. I suppose the visitors of existing occupants of the site could not park because a car was left by the no longer occupants of the site.

I feel sorry to Site owners with only grass pitches, they have lost so much needed revenue due to having to cancel bookings, and the ones who carried on have been left with terribly muddy fields, which will take months to recover, which will impact on future bookings.

Sorry to hear about your OH Cariadon, agree with what you've just posted.

I'm just waiting for son and grandson to appear and then off out into the rain for a run around somewhere, hopefully lunch out too.

thank you Brue, the sun is shining here, blue skies and SUN, quite warm too.

Malcolm, It seems a lot of fuss and bother just to save a few pounds, if you had gone to a B&B, then you could have left the shogun next to the van and used the smart, would save the £4 parking and for the pitch fees. Your excuse will be that your wife doesn't want it, NEVER believe what we women say, she's only saying it because she thinks it's what you want.

Maybe a compromise to show willing Malcolm would be to suggest that you vacate the site for 25 days in the week rather than at weekend. Should also give you more pitch choice for your two day break

Yesterday was bright and sunny here so I took the opportunity to wash the car and also clean the inside all ready for our 4 night trip awayin in the van next week. Dull and damp here today so I am staying in just watching the football.

After the deluge of yesterday we have woken to sunshine and a beautiful Spring day, so took ourselves out into the local lanes (fields too muddy) for a longish stroll.Still a bit of a nip in the air but lovely and refreshing. Loads of birds calling and collecting material. Everything does seem a little behind schedule, not too surprising with the inconsistent weather.

Busy with appointments these days and we attended a neighbours funeral the other day. More appointments next week. Between the 3 of us there's doctors, dentists, hospitals and opticians not to mention hair for the ladies.

Slowly getting things together before we push off to Germany in three weeks time.Bet quite a few members going away soon. Take care if you are out there.

Much better day today here lovely sunshine and warm too, so managed a couple of hours in the front garden (still winter in the back garden)

OH washed my car and helped me tidy up afterwards. We are getting there at last.

Malcolm, at a little over £5 a day I can't think that the C&MC make anything out of you having a seasonal pitch, you must use that in electricity. I agree with ET why not try and arrange your days off to coincide with your 21 day move during the week, by bumping it just the once will make it during the week there after.

What gets me with a seasonal pitch is that its the occupants that have to leave but the van can stay, so why not the car on the pitch. Often thought I would like a seasonal down south somewhere but listening to Malcolm I don't think I'll bother. For next year Malcolm why not try a private site, one that you don't have to move off every 21 days, might be a little more expensive but much less hassle.

Had a clear out of the attic on Friday. It's amazing what stuff people put in their attic and garage.

Found a Caravan Stabiliser that we used to make use of back in the 1990's, 2 Sleeping Bags that we only used for the first 6 months when we first started caravanning in 1991, wrapped up in black bin liners and as fresh as a new daisy. They went to the Sally Army. Mrs WN was very happy as I found a box of Christmas decorations, that's been missing for a few years, with her favourite little crystal tree in and a tacky but sentimental Rudolph. Also found an Electric Rice Cooker. Can't remember why we even thought to buy it!

One or two items gone to charity shops but a couple of them good enough to put into auction.

So sorry to hear the bad news about your neighbour brue. Also sorry to hear that your OH is in hospital cariadon.

Everywhere here is waterlogged. We drove along the A47 past Ferry Meadows yesterday - the Milton Ferry side - and it is just one big expanse of water. No paths or fields visible. I don't think I have ever seen it flooded to that extent before. It is raining again today 😦OH saw a report about Denver Sluice on TV a couple of days ago and they are having to monitor waters levels 24/7 to prevent East Anglia being completely under water. Denver Sluice is the centre of the universe as far as water levels in the East of England are concerned.

Just back from a near 10 mile walk.  Mrs One has decided that she wants to get fit, so it goes without saying I have to do the same.  She has decided that come September she will do the Race for life 21 mile walk from Wells next Sea to Hunstanton.  Although I’m not eligible to walk she does think I should suffer😫☠️

Brue: Sad news about your neighbour.

Cariadon : Sorry to hear about your OH, hope he's on the mend .

Wherenext: Glad you've sorted the attic,  we emptied ours a while ago, amazed at what we found laughing

Today has been a pottering about day,  I've done a few odd jobs and the ironing, weather has been wet so not done anything outside. Did venture to the pet shop for a bag of dog food.

OH is watching the Grand Prix, so I'am now researching some CL'S for future trips 😉

Well, we lost our bowls final this afternoon so as it appears to be the thing to say in the sporting world "there's next season to build for now"! laughing

And the upside is that we only have to plan trips away around Mrs M's busy social schedule for the next few months. wink

A good race, although I hope the Ferrari mechanic is OK.

Perhaps a subject if they repeat COTY. Towing a caravan round a site behind a formula 1 car. Can they do 5mph.😂

On this site the warden told us that an extra £2 is charged if you park two cars on your pitch. I was told that if I park one of the cars in the car park there would be no extra charge. That is why I park one car on my pitch and the other car in the car park.

If they want extra spaces in the car park for visitors, they could easily solve that problem by allowing us to park both cars on our pitch without any extra charge.

SteveL, you are allowed to leave your outfit on the pitch for the entire season. The 21 night rule only applies to people. You have to leave your outfit unoccupied for two nights after 21 consecutive nights of stay. So if you can leave your caravan on the pitch, it makes sense that you should be allowed to leave one car there too. You are allowed one car without a £2 extra charge. We only left one car here and parked the other car on the other site for which I paid the club £54.80 for two nights stay there which is on top of the £1910 that I have paid for the seasonal pitches. So you can go awayfor two nights but your outfit can obviously stay. That is mad very clear in the T&Cs.

No because last year the warden told us to leave it in the car park so that they can mow the grass. That warden also told us that the head office had approved of us being allowed for us to park one of our cars in the car park during our two nights away. The problem is that they keep changing the wardens every year so that there is no consistency because the new warden has no idea of what was previously agreed.

The seasonal pitch as far as the car and caravan are concerned are for the whole season including the two nights away every 21 nights.

I had a nice 30 minute doze earlier. The caravan alarm went off at 4.30am this morning and so I went out to investigate. Thought that I would then have a Gaelic coffee and go back to bed. By that time it was 5.30 and the birds were singing. I had had five and a half hours sleep and felt a little tired but decided to stay up rather than disturb OH. I read Malcolm's post after my breakfast at 6.44am. When I next awoke it was 7.15. Enjoyed that doze.

That's right, EasyT. I've never heard of any visitor being charged a fee for using the caravan site car park.

A seasonal pitch is for the whole season so it's wrong to ask anyone to move any part of their outfit off the site for nights spent away from the seasonal pitch.

If there are no parking spaces left then visitors should be asked to park outside the site so as not to take up spaces that are needed by seasonal pitch holders that have paid to use the facilities for the whole season albeit at a discounted rate compared to short stay caravanners.

I think what you mean by extra charge is if you have guests staying with you in the caravanthere is an extra fee to pay for each extra guest that stays overnight. That is the fee per person rather than car.

No Malcolm. I have been asked to pay for a second vehicle on several occasions when my daughter has joined us. That was over a period between 13 and 8 years ago

which is on top of the £1910 that I have paid for the seasonal pitches

Have they overcharged you as it show £1310 on the seasonal pitch fees.

This lifestyle you enjoy seems very stressful to me. Can't be very good for your health.

Was the second vehicle parked on the pitch or in the car park?

The warden here says the £2 extra car fee is only payable if both cars are parked on a pitch and said to me that I could save this cost if I parked one car in the car park.

£1310 here for the summer and another £600 for Gatwick in the winter so £1910 for the whole year. The two nights that we have to be away every 21 nights cost the full fee if staying on a club site for those two nights.

Actually, to be precise Gatwick was £620 and Worthing £1310 so total £1930.

Perhaps the rules have changed now or maybe it was subject to the warden's discretion!
