Woke to a beautiful morning, hard frost overnight but lovely blue skies.

Washing done and hung out, guess what, yes it started to rain yell where the clouds came from who knows. Washing now in tumbler.

OH got his appointment through for Physio next week, plus nurse on Tuesday to have staples removed, appointment also to go to see consultant who performed the Op, that's not for a few weeks yet but nice he has it all in place, well done the NHS.

I have started with an annoying cough, came on late yesterday. That's twice in the last year we have returned form holidays (flying) to find on 5th day we have coughs yell hopefully this one won't go to my chest like the winter one did. Speaking to a friend who is a GP she swears its the planes air con that does it, all it takes is someone on the plane to have a cold/cough and the aircon spreads it around.

It's about a years worth of unleaded petrol! It was £3800 but I paid £1000 deposit in December for the order.

It looks like dinner2go have closed down their Worthing business. On their website it says currently closed for the Worthing area.

It keeps raining on and off. The field looks soggy outside and the ground is soggy under our awning carpet, mud coming through as well. I've parked the Smart car as close to the road as possible, so hope I can get off the grass when it's time to leave for work. Only 45 minutes to go! I expect I'll get thoroughly soaked whilst doing tonights deliveries!

I've just finished my commute to work but I'm a bit early so a few minutes to post on here. The sun's come out at last so I could be in luck for having a little bit of dry weather for my deliveries. You never know your luck!

The day started off frosty but beautifully sunny.  We went to our brand new Lidl to do our food shop for the weekend and then I took my car to our local hand car wash to have it cleaned.  After being vandalised while we were away and then spending 10 days in the garage being repaired I felt it deserved it.  Then I decided to give the inside a good clean and polish.  Guess what?  It is now rainingyell Still OH has managed to get a lot of gardening done this afternoon so he is well pleased.

I hope your cough soon clears up Tammygirl. Your NHS sounds very efficient.

I have to do a Safeguarding course for my volunteering role at the Cathedral.  I can either go on a day course or do it online.  Has anyone done the safeguarding course online and if so how straightforward is it?

One of our daughters has done quite a few similar courses on line Millie and has found them fairly easy to do. Time saving too.

Unfortunately plenty more rain to come over the next few days. I hope conditions don't get much worse for you. At least you don't need to move the van for several months, if conditions should deteriorate further. Out of interest I checked the Geology under the site, on the BGS app, which shows it to be predominantly clays. Unless they have put in drainage, it does seem a strange decision by the club to put seasonals on a clay soil, so early in the year.

We have learnt our seasonal will also be on grass, although this is reasonably well drained. So fingers crossed for a dry summer and we don't start off soggy in September.

Thanks brue. I think I will give it a go online as it will save me having to go on a day course. Good to know your daughter found them fairly easy.

That's just what we do too. Up the west and down the east, starting in April/May to be there before the midges have woken up.

Two good days weather wise here at home, sunny but still a bit chilly.  All the washing done and away, and I completed cleaning the outside of both the car and the caravan yesterday and today hoovered out and dusted in the van. Just the polishing to do, tomorrow hopefully, and we'll be ready for the off again. Just got to sort out where to go on our next trip.

There is thick fog in the Cotswolds this morning not that the drivers of vehicles passing the site seem to have noticed

104 fill ups would soon happen, SteveL, when commuting from Gatwick during the 5 winter months from November to March. Last time we stayed in Gatwick, I had to fill up 3 to 4 times a week at a cost of between £75 to £100 week depending on how many shifts they put me down for. Don't forget, they increase the work during the Christmas and New Year period when customer demand peaks! So extra commuting costs. However, that cost will come to an end with the Smart Electric.

If I can get my Tesco Club credit card debt down sufficiently to make the necessary £2800 deposit money available, I can get interest free credit on it, so it will cost me nothing. With no interest to pay and no fuel to buy, I can very quickly reduce debt on a daily basis using drop money and tips whilst still having four weekly pay from Pizza Hut and my State pension and monthly pay from the other income sources. What could be more win win than that?

I haven't kept count but I think that we have toured in Scotland around 5 times in 12 years. We did get up to Edinburgh last year but don't count that. Usually taken 6 or 7 weeks. Never worried by midges though as they don't trouble either of us greatly. I have always seemed to be immune to their feeding and OH rarely affected.

We will be getting a little way into Scotland this year on one trip between 25th April and 15th May

    Ayr Craigie Gardens CC

That sounds like a good trip EasyT, I like southern Scotland and the Borders as much as some of the more rugged northern parts. I don't think we'll be going to Scotland this year and I will miss it. smile

We were at Ayr Craigie Gardens plus other sites on the west coast of Scotland last year, EasyT. We never encountered any midges at all during our entire touring holiday.

I'll miss it too this year but I have to think about the cost in diesel of towing the caravan all that way plus the additional cost of site fees on top of the seasonal pitch cost. Hopefully, with all our cost savings this year, there might be more money available for next year so that it can become a more distinct possibility!

No, I don't think I'll miss Scotland this year as our trip to Bavaria will more than make up for it.  The Tegelberg at over 7000 feet has a cable car which we will use to get to near the summit then walk the 18Ks back down via Neuschwanstein castle.  One of Julia Bradbury's romantic walks.  Done it twice before but its such a great walk with a good refreshment point that its got to be done againlaughing

Looks good, Oneputt! However, I think a trip that far might overstretch our budget for this year and my wife is still waiting for her passport back from the Home Office where her visa application is still under consideration. Without her passport there is no way we can cross the UK border into any other country! Also, do we need to? There's enough beauty in this country for us to feast our eyes on!

We had a good lunch out with our friends yesterday (and some good shopping too, mostly in the locally well known excellent Harts of Stur hardware store which was not intended but the baking tins were a bit of a draw....plus other things) Simple pleasures. wink

If you're in the Blandford Forum/Sturminster Newton area of Dorset on holiday we can recommend The Swan at "Stur." smile
