It is Steve, and a good day out.

What a difference a day makes, yesterday was a beautiful day today its grey and damp frown

On the plus side OH much improved today, smile the ice packs and Ibuprofen gel seems to have made a huge difference. He had a good nights sleep 8 hrs, didn't require more painkillers overnight and has a bit of movement in the arm now. Pain level has dropped by 50% and he now looks much better, yesterday he was sweaty grey and drawn.

Nice slow morning, helped OH to have a shower surprisedembarassedlaughing spot of lunch then we are going to venture into town to bank a couple of cheques and do a bit of shopping. A visit to big sis is also on the cards as we've not seen her since we got back from Lanzarote.

Yesterday was a lovely day, unlike today, just hope the rain lets up soon as we have stuff to take out to the van, and the car to pack.

Bedding etc and clothes done, now mainly just a bit of food to sort out, fridge has been turned on and the van is reasonably warm.

Spent yesterday afternoon with DD and family, we all piled into our car and went to the park where we had a long walk in the sun, watched the swans and the ducks, and saw the emerging daffodils.

Grandson slept through it all, we took turns with the pram, and had some holding time before and afterwards.  No doubt he will have grown a little before we get back from our trip.

CY , have you checked its not the fuse that has blown , only ask as I had the same problem just after the last cold snap. Youngest offspring suspected fuse and was correct.

We've had a wonderful week in Norfolk, mainly a birding trip. Enjoy 😊

At the moment we are due about £20 in Tesco Clubcard vouchers in May. So maybe we could go for that! Thanks for the suggestion.

I have been waiting for an appointment to see a specialist Physio and I was getting concerned that I had not heard. Last night looking at my phone I realised I had a text from the NHS giving me a date and place! It seems that letters are being phased out in certain circumstances. I have no objection to a text message but would have preferred an e-mail.

It would have been nice if they had told you that your appointment might come by text David. Not all of us are up to speed with modern technology yet.

It has been a wet and miserable day here. I spent the morning welcoming at the  Cathedral. About 60 vistors braved the weather. Hopefully it will pick up after Easter. Some schools must have already broken up as we had quite a few children with their grandparents.

I agree it would have been nice to have been told that this is the new system. I do get texts to remind me of appointments the day before which I am used to. The hospital in MK also phone you about a week before an appointment to make sure you are still going to attend which again is common sense as cancellations cost a lot and waste time.

Margaret is waiting an x-ray appointment so it will be interesting to see how that is communicated!!!

Thankfully all my appointments are advised by text, hospital, doctors, practice nurse, dentist, opticians and even the window cleaners - fantastic if you carry your mobile phone with you always, which I do.laughing

Pored over the handbook as that was my first thought but it appears there is no separate fuse but runs from the wiper one.

I gave my mobile no. to the GP surgery as requested some years ago but they have never used it.  The only people I get text reminders from are the opticians.

Milliehull might be worth checking they have noted your number down correctly 😉.

I get text notifications when making or changing appointments and reminders a week and a day in advance from my dentist and opticians. I get text notification when I book an appointment with the GP can't remember whether or not a reminder is sent from them.

I've also set maximum and minimum limits on our bank accounts, I use online banking and hope this is another check that no one else is helping themselves 😲. Texts arrive within seconds when I transfer money exceeding these limits. They also email but that takes a bit longer.

OH has a mobile but never charged and rarely leaves the place where it lives- next to the charger😤😭. So the usefulness is relative 😉

There are some positives to modern technology. But I agree a clue that you will be notified tjis way would be of enormous benefit.

How efficient JVB.  Really it is much better as you can pick them up even when away.  Only good for those who check their phone regularly though.  It would be no good for my OH as his phone is in the kitchen drawer most of the time.

Drizzly this morning, had to make do with dog walk round the estate and park,  barriers now complete round the field, even the dog  looked disappointed wink just hope they get on with the building,  will be annoyed if they have fenced it off and denied access for nothing to happen for months!  yell
