Great news Husky, the time will flyby hopefully. Fingers will be crossed for a speedy sale

Brue, yes was really impressed, no messing about. Peace of mind knowing that everything looked ok and not a possible infection. OH been resting since he got home and ice packs (gel actually) been applied regularly, seems to be helping.

Didn't make it into the garden as it clouded over again and looked like rain. Sun now back out again yell but got tied up with other things so will have to wait for another day.

    Good Luck with everything HD.smile

OH took flexible retirement a couple of years ago, 3 days instead of 5 just to see how things went, now thinking about retiring completely, but a a couple of years so it won't be that early. wink

Opticians this morning, all good, so no new glasses required🤓 Grandtwins came round so we made pizza bases then the twins put the topping on. 👨‍🍳🍕 They made Easter cards and, of course, had to check out the frogs in the pond.🐸

Just had to have a break and watch a Siskin on the feeder

I should think not. Sleds can overturn with manoeuvres like that.

Well done HD. Exciting times ahead.  I hope all goes well.

Sorry to hear about 'your' field Helen.  I hope you find somewhere else nice for your morning walk with the dog.

What wonderful service from the NHS Tammygirl. So good to have such swift reassurance.  I hope the pain eases soon for your OH.

I met up with ex work friends for our normal monthly get together for coffee this morning.  Not so many of us today for various reason but we had a lovely gossip and catch up.  Busy afternoon in the garden.  OH gave the grass a hair cut and trimmed all the edges which made the garden look so much better. Also lots of clearing up and cutting back.  The Sweet Pea seeds have finally been planted and are on the conservatory window sill where they will hopefully get some warmth and sun.  I can't work out the weather forecast for the weekend. One forecaster said it wouldn't be too bad and Easter Sunday might be fairly decent and another said it will be very cold with possible wintry showers.

Good to hear, M. Did you get the call to go for the scan or a directive from your doctor?

Great service from your local NHS, TG. Hope that the painkillers do the job and your OH manages to get some proper sleep. Bet he's reluctant to do the exercises however.

Thanks NTH and MH, yes very good service. Ice packs and Ibuprofen gel seem  to be helping reduce the heat. Pain seems to be stable as long as he doesn't keep it in one place too long, gentle movements little and often are recommended but as you say NTH he is a bit reluctant wink

Glad your AAA went well M.

cool Lovely sunny spring day at the B/yd today,a bit of ongoing maintenance and gave the grass (and weeds) a haircut/strimming .Returned the boat that came out on Saturday ,after it's anti-foul and varnish.Came home to find that a burst copper pipe (from three weeks ago) has finally manifested itself !!Not too much damage as it's in an outside under stairs cupboard.Just waiting for the plumber now undecided.

OH has never been invited for AAA screening but it is probably because it wasn't on offer when he reached 65 - a good few years ago now! I have told him to ask about it next time he sees our GP. He doesn't look too keen but I will try and talk him into it. (he is a head in the sand type of guy). Glad your result was good moulesy.  You do know that now you are in their system they won't let you go - you will be called for all sorts of tests.laughing

I and my brothers had screening about 10 years ago as my father died of an aneurism of the aorta.

It would appear that once you've had the scan and are given the all clear that's the end of it, for that one at least, as it's not expected to develop after the age of 65.

We've got up to a rather wet morning this morning, so we're glad we made the most of the good weather yesterday.

Yesterday morning we went for our walk up Highdown Hill, visited Highdown Gardens and had a picnic lunch on the picnic benches next to the car park. We then went for a further walk up the hill through the National Trust area and the Earthworks at the top where we had magnificent views of the coast and the Isle of Wight. It was thoroughly enjoyable. The gardens had primroses, daffodils and camellia and plenty of seating for relaxation.

After that we returned to the club site and used the Shogun to get to WWT Arundel where we went on the boat safari. The guide was very informative and showed us a wildfowl nest where there was some demonstration of aggression by the wildfowl concerned, in defence of their nest!

It was 4 p.m. by the time we got back to our caravan.

I was never invited either, actually first heard there was such a thing when it was mentioned on CT a few years back.

OH investigated on line and found I could just ring up and make an appointment.

I was given a choice of hospitals in the area, with various dates, and selected a suitable one.  Straight in on arrival and it was all completed and result given in under 5 minutes.

All I need now to be up to date is the Shingles vaccination, which I have consistently missed out on.

It's continuing grey and overcast here. We plan to go shopping at Tesco Extra, Durrington, for Hot Cross Buns and Easter Eggs among other things, as soon as we are ready to go. At least there, if it rains, we'll be under shelter! A very different kind of outing today, compared to yesterday!

Had a temporary filling this morning but because of planned trips it'll be June before I'm 'crowned with many crowns'.

Screen washers on OH's car have packed up and it seems to be a bit of a fiddle to get at the pump. A job for later in the week as the car is needed for the next few days.

We've come back down to the van in Cornwall for the week to check what state it's in and finish repair work after our recent flood! Fortunately all looks OK,  carpets dried out fully and all plumbing work repaired. Just a couple of doors on the vanity unit in the bathroom to replace and a few bits of cosmetic work to reattach various bits of veneer. So we were lucky to catch things when we did. Dread to think what state the place would have been in if we'd left it till Easter to come down!

What we really need now is some warm, dry weather - just like we're not going to get this week. frown

For possible future days out, what about the historic dockyards at Portsmouth. Not a bad run from your current site. I was looking at what I could spend my Tesco vouchers on and noticed that for £7 each it gives you access for a year. Very good value.😀
