i do, thanks...but i am also a member of CC (and CCC) and use club sites a reasonable amount of the time....
ill use the other club, (or commercials, or CL/CS) if/when appropriate...
none of which precludes me (or anyone else) having an opinion on the subject of this thread....
i like kids and dogs, but when on a campsite, id prefer just to be in a different area 'should this be available'....if not, thats alright, too but it doesnt change the way i feel...
the current Club policy doent stop me using their sites from time to time, nor does it say i cant have an opinion on a CT topic....or does it?

There are signs all around the Broadway site stating that would dog owners please put the poo bags in the bin's provided and not to throw them other the fence into the neighboring property,must be the responsible dog owner's picking up.

We were booking a club site just before Christmas and was told, when I asked, by the very amicable female warden that there wasn't a dog walk on site, I replied that might be a problem for us as our dog is 13 yrs. and can't walk far, she said don't worry there's a triangle of grass in the corner you can use that, I said oh I don't think that will go down well with everyone she replied as long as you clear up after your dog it's "not a problem"......There's your answer, clear up if your dog doesn't quite make it, which I'm convinced most of us do, personally I've never seen a people not picking up or dogs pooping everywhere ( I'm sure it happens on the odd occasion) to me what's more concerning is people letting their dogs roam free, it seems to be becoming the normal thing to do now.

Would not the simple answer be to have a rule that dogs on Club sites are always on short leads and and always walked along site roads until they get to the dog walk or off site?
The responsible owners know this, the inconsiderate ones can't read.
I have been lucky as have not witnessed this on sites we have been on, out of interest is the problem worse on sites that accept non memebers or on members only sites.

Like you Boleroboy we use CC sites at times, particularly winter when others are shut. Thankfully the commercials and Cls are all opening in the next few days so I wont see the problem. Others will of course be glad that as they say " go elsewhere". As an aside there is a new commercial site being developed adjacent to the garden centre at Morton Hall say 1 mile from LMP and adjacent to the buses and the canal. The CC will have to up their game to compete. However the problem of irresponsible dog owners will not go away

Actually, I do agree with your post saying the original title was "too emotive". Interesting that, having implied it was a common problem, within a couple of pages the OP acknowledged that it was a minority involved. Makes one question the motives behind the thread itself and it's original title, don't you think?

I didn't find it particularly offensive, but it was discriminatory and full of untruths. Exaggerated for maximum effect, racking up the us and them type threshold. Hence all the likes. I just put it down to a boring night in with little to do now back home again!

I remember a warden at Godrevy years ago who did keep a count and asked us if we had dogs. He sighed and said We already have more dogs than caravans on site. What would that be? 60 or 70 dogs I suppose. Have things changed much ?

It's like any other aspect of our society in truth AD. A few bad examples spoil things for the majority who do think about others. It is possibly worse on the big sites and at busy times, but only because there are more people visiting, so the likelihood of more people doing things they shouldn't, such as speeding, noise, dogs is magnified in proportion. Hence our love of small, quiet, easily managed sites.
I happen to think the softly softly approach doesn't work that well. If someone is not adhering to Club rules, then for the sake of the majority, and the staff in charge, it needs dealing with promptly and firmly. I don't blame the Wardens, it stems from philosophy at HQ. Stamp on a few transgressors (clearly identified, not on hearsay) and the word will get round. It will only be a few, but the change in culture on sites will be well worth giving their membership fees back and telling them to "go forth". Penalising or pricing out decent members isn't the fair way.

We will be visiting Lady Margaret's this year and it is a beautiful place to visit, we also have 2 dogs and as responsible owners we abide by the club rules regarding keeping them on leads not fowling on the grass using designated exercise areas and not allowing them to annoy others. there are others who for some reason do what ever they want I think these are in the minority , would I be correct in presuming you are not dog owners as for banning dogs it is not going to happen as for charging it is not going to happen there are many thousands of dog owners who caravan and pay millions of pounds in site fees and we always seem to come under attack for the few irresponsible owners. There are plenty of things other members do that annoy us who do not have dogs should we ban them no, stop moaning get on with what this hobby allows us all to do and that is take in the wonderful areas , views peace and quiet and relax

Well said TDA, I couldn’t agree more.
I was very tempted to have some banter re the OP and others who have made predictable anti dog posts but your assessment of the situation is spot on IMHO.
I am opposed to the idea of having an area just for dog owners though as posted earlier, some dogs are quiet and well behaved but do not get on with other dogs.
