The problem, if you don't mind me saying so, F, is that your manner of posting has alienated many of the very folk, who, like me ("responsible" dog owners) you are wanting to get onside in helping to solve this perceived problem.
By using such an inflammatory original title (you must have realised the effect it would have at the time) and by writing an OP which suggested it was a major problem, we now discover, almost 200 posts later, that , on what by your own acknowledgement was a fairly busy weekend, you witnessed two "offenders".
Now don't get me wrong - that's two too many and I'm not in any way defending them (in some ways I think the "running freely" was actually the most serious "offence" but that's not really important.) But given that there were two who were blatantly abusing the rules and within your sight, I think my reaction might have been to note their pitch and car registration numbers and give that information to the wardens, following it up with an email to HQ giving those details.
If neither the wardens or HQ think it warrants further action, there's not a lot us mere members can do further is there?

i'll also hazard a guess that, among the gog owners, around 20-30% might have more than one...
if this were the case, its perfectly possible that a site has more dogs than vans....

IMHO threads about dogs or children are a bit pointless. Only responsible dog owners and non or anti dog owners post. I have never seen a post such as "I don't care I will let my dog do what it wants where it wants". I am not a dog owner or anti dog but I'll get my coat anyway!!

As we don't charge for dogs they don't appear on any booking so it's impossible to know any numbers or percentages It does get rather noisy on site at times! The most dogs I've seen in one outfit was when I worked at Exeter Racecourse site, 14, yes 14 in one caravan!!
To be honest though complaints regarding dogs are miniscule. Yes you get the odd present left now and again, but the way I see it is, on my site I empty the dog bins 5 times a week and they're always full so most people act responsibly.
If you saw someone letting their pet foul and not clear up, why would you not say anything at the time? I'm happy to attend to complaints on site but surely a friendly word member to member would achieve a result.

That's the only thing I wish the club sorted out, I think they should know. If a van arrives with a lot of dogs (maybe people on the way to a dog show) it would be good to advise them of a suitable spot etc. Just knowing their whereabouts would seem sensible. I'm speaking as a dog owner who likes dogs.

I've just made a booking with C&CC for Kingsbury Water Park in May. No mention of dogs when booking, but this statement on the confirmation email - "If you're planning to bring your pet/s with you, don't worry if they don't appear on your booking. Pets are welcome on all of our club sites and you can bring them along with you free of charge".

It's not the customer's job to challenge another customer when they see them behaving in an antisocial manner on a CMC site. Customers pay good money to enjoy holidays on CMC sites and fully expect the warden staff to ensure that their choice of holiday location is a pleasant place to be.---Stopping antisocial behavior on site is the responsibility of the warden staff who are paid by the CMC to manage their site for the benefit of their customers.

How unusual on this topic, that a member who has done nothing wrong is made to feel the guilty party.
Why should anyone who has noted unacceptable behaviour and totally within their rights posted on this forum, be derided in any way.

So you're quite happy for that person to carry on ignoring the rules and being abusive to fellow members.
Seems it's true what some people say and this is no longer a club with members feeling a sense of belonging, or even ownership. It's now every man for himself.

There are Many owner who have posted on this topic who not only show a responsible approach with their replies, but also clearly demonstrate totally correct behaviours and trainining for their pets. I do not recall a post from yourself that would cause me or many others to make you feel guilty in any way, and nor should you.
The original post and most of the others surely only applies to the issesponsible owners however many there might be.
However if you compare this to recent posts that push responsibility back onto the witness followed with derision, this is as unacceptable as the original issue.

This issue can be debated here till the cows come home, but the culprits will carry on the same. What can the club do - ban them, no problem most probably not members, will only go somewhere else. Will a member speak to them, many will not as "it's not my place" or "don't want abuse" unless that changes it will carry on. If I saw somebody not clearing up I would ask them if they wanted a poo bags, as I always have some in my pockets, embarrassment sometimes work better than a confronted approach. If you are in your van, then offer them a carrier bag.

One of today's social problems I think, and I speak in general terms, is that of a lack of collective ownership. We are our society and each and everyone of us have a little responsibility to uphold, or at least promote, the behaviours we wish to hold dear too. One problem with antisocial behaviour, is that once overlooked, once ignored it becomes, for the lazy, the norm. Yes, question them at your peril, many will then attempt to pass the buck or upset you for doing so, but if that very moment in time is lost, goes unaddressed right then, it is another nail in the coffin of that downward spiral, they will swear blind it was not them and the words 'prove it' will often follow. It only suits them for us to ignore it. Thankfully, the vast majority of us are 'nice' thoughtful people and just maybe we may need reminding of this, that in itself may help a little but then await the calls of folk being patronising, infantile or even pathetic. Rise above it fellow members!

I have seen someone apologise when questioned on site about their dog running free. Next day, the dog was off the lead again. If there is a solution for people who think rules are for others I'd like to see what can be done, but I think it's an ingrained type of anti-establishment stubbornness.
