Oh dear, fish, did you actually witness owners allowing their pets to foul as described? Funny thing is I very rarely see it happen, although it clearly does. On that odd occasion I do see it, and only when they show no inclination to do the right thing, I will let my presence known and provide them with an awareness of the fact that I'm aware of the 'motion' happening behind. One or two have pretended they are unaware of what their dog is doing, one dragged the poor creature along for some considerable distance whilst in the act. I'm sure, they hadn't got a clue what was going on
so I've even 'kindly' offered a bag for their use on one occasion.I love dogs me, but it's apparent that one in ten owners let us dog lovers down ( according to our local council). Some may not agree but I think we 90% should do what we can, within reason, to 'help' the few understand the error of their ways and the bad name they give the rest of us. Obviously, others may not agree and wish to disassociate themselves completely from the issue and leave it to others. Some will turn that blind eye. Some will just moan.

I don't see anything wrong with a dog relieving itself providing it is not on a pitch and any mess is picked up by the owner and disposed of.
So I can assume you have no problem with a dog relieving itself outside your front door as long as it is picked.up

As a responsible owner who always always picks up why should I be made responsible for others who don't. We walk & exercise our Dog on allocated Dog walk area, but occasionally he has done his business on the way to the exercise area (he cant read the Club rules). When this happens I pick up immediately & then go back to our Van to get a watering can to swoosh the area with water.
So why should I & my wife be held responsible for others??

Perhaps it is true that wardens have been instructed not to confront transgressing members on clubsite rules.
I remember being ticked off in the very distant past for being too far from the peg, incorrect parking or misaligned van.
Maybe my memory is fading but I think rules were actively enforced back then.

Have to agree, I try to do the right thing with my dog's and always pick up if they poo on site while trying to get to the designated area.
But I also have to say that other' using this forum complain that it is being overlooked in favour of the facebook page is it any wonder when the majority of posts seem to be about having a moan .

How would you feel as a dog owner for designated pitches for owners adjacent as possible to the designated dog walk area. Reducing the distance and risk of accidents, also if there were accidents either on the pitch or on the way to the dog walk, then it no longer offend non-owners.
This would require a change to the booking system to allow booking of dog designated pitches similar to the booking of serviced pitches.
I have been on many sites where the pitches near the dog walk are empty whilst owners walk a fair the length of the site.

I personally would not want designated pitches. There are enough of those already. I am not concerned about the occasional accident - 5hit happens.
The problems that I have seen have been from owners that either let dogs out early on their own or take the dog deliberately to crap on site rather than trouble to walk them elsewhere.

Steve, you seem to be suggesting that, off season, only those with dogs use the sites....(rest of the site a Ghost Town..) lf course this isnt the case.
i realise the ever rising numbers of 'dog vans' but i didnt know we (non doggers) were extinct yet?
i dont see anythng wrong with any members being close to the facilities they require...toilet block, dog walk whatever...
personally, i dont want to be near the toilets (ugh), nor the entrance (noise), nor in tne shade (brrrrr), nor even remotely close to the dog walk (bark, bark)...
I think BM has made a very valid suggestion and it should not be poo-poo'd out of hand

7 trips last year, 40 + nights away, similar thing the year before. I have still to witness this problem if it actually is the problem a very small minority keep going on about.
FWIW, I will always take a pitch near the dog walk if there is one on site and adhere to the rules. But if you read the rules the club recognises that accidents happen and request the dog owner deals with it. And don't confuse someone walking a dog on a lead on the site as exercising them. We will often have a stroll around a new site with the 2 dogs on leads (The rules say we can't leave them in the caravan I believe) to see what the rest of it is like or if there is anyone else there we have met before. If one my dogs pee's against a hedge or tree on a part of the site on or near the road or where folk are not going to be or use I see no problem with that, its what animals do, including the local wildlife, which is probably why the dog wants to mark that spot anyway.
I am happy to approach and advise anyone I see braking these rules and give them a poo bag but maybe the moaners on here could carry some poo bags and do the same in the spirit of all working together to educate the minority.
Just need some speeding post now and a few children on bikes debates to start 2018 off.

on a nice open pitch, not nr the toilet, entrance or dog walk....plenty of those spaces i would guess...
