I'll eat anything and everything, meat, vegetables, stuffing, gravy. It's all good! Just puddings and other sweet things, I have to eat a lot less of! I can't understand what's wrong in eating fish though. Fish is generally regarded as a healthy option! We eat a lot of all kinds of fish but salmon is our favourite.

I fell asleep in the awning relaxer this afternoon in front of the awning heater. Only one bar of it works at 400 watts! Then I woke up and had a cup of tea.
Earlier, I phoned work but they still hadn't done next weeks rota so they said they'd text it to me when it's done. Still waiting for the text message! So I'm afraid I'm going to have to keep you all in suspense about what hours and days I'll be working next week!

Nice to see you're still alert Huskydog! Keep barking and all will be well!

I just got my rota from work for next week. I'm off from Monday to Thursday, just Friday, Saturday and Sunday to work. That's like a mini holiday, isn't it?

But where? Any suggestions? We're booked here at the Brighton Club site for 21 nights. Surely there's plenty to do here! Where can it get better than this at this time of year?

Hmm, I'll need a nano-second on that one, Malcolm...............

When they built Milton Keynes Shopping Centre which is basically all glass and steel they planted lots of bananas trees along the main malls which had a sort of greenhouse effect. They used to fruit but they never matured into eatable bananas even on the southern side of the centre that got most of the sun.

I hope the fire is now out OP and that everyone is OK. Any news of the dog? Poor people who lived there will have a lot to sort out.

We did think of Dover Castle but when we checked opening days and times, it's only open Saturdays and Sundays at this time of year, so it's back to the drawing board!

London maybe, but we've just spent 21 nights there at Redhill club site!

Just having a catch up with news on here. Good to see folks feeling better, staying busy etc as well as those on trips. We must try Burrs site when next that way, that' for the heads up helenandtrevor and Molly' Mummy.
Hope the fire is safely out and escape dog found safe and well. Not much of a new year start for those people. I hope they'e fully insured - it won' bring back lost forever items but will hopefully remove some of the stress 😢.
Booths supermarkets are wonderful, a good reason (along with several others) to venture north of Watford 😂😂😂. Although I believe we actually might be anyway.
Interesting about local shopping, we try our best, but bananas, grapes and nectarines are hard. Friends here have banana tree, I think I posted a photo earlier, with lots of bananas only planted in last 18 months, they don' think they'll ripen but we'll see.
Staying in New Plymouth at the mo, on our own but met lovely Dutch folk. Still silly hot ( should I whisper 😉). Beautiful sea view but already 23c at 0916. On thunder watch again, our weather influenced by Oz at the mo.

Malcolm, what about Chartwell? Winston Churchills home, and its NT, so would be free for you. A very interesting place. Sorry, not sure of opening times at moment. Mainly indoors as well, so good if weather isn't too great.

I am really glad the fireman managed to stop the fire spreading but desperately sad for the people who lived there. I do hope the dog is found eventually. Poor thing must have been terrified.

Thanks for the post bakers2. Lovely to hear from you and see your photos. I hope you are still enjoying time with your family. Don't rush back, it is forecast to be colder again next week.

Yes I agree, ttda, it's a great place to visit for a day out. We've been there before. I liked the dining room there best. The grounds are lovely too although maybe not so good at this time of the year but certainly the indoors would be just as good.
I just looked it up in the NT handbook. It seems the house is closed at this time of year but the garden, exhibition, studio, shop and cafe are open from 10-4.

It seems you're not allowed to smile in a passport photo these days, HD. I'm not sure what expression a dog must have though!

We've just got up and made a pot if tea. It seems a bit blustery this morning, with grey sky but dry.
