Nice skies here, lit by the setting sun. Just looking at all the catkins on our birch trees. Glad to here you've said goodbye to the stitches OP, hope all goes well and you can get out and about. smile

Saw an amazing sight this afternoon which I swear on my grandsprogs life is true. I watched open mouthed as a Seagull pulled a council parking ticket off someone's windscreen and promptly flew away with it. Someone's in for a shock when they get a penalty notice for non payment .😂😂

We tend to stop at Camping Wagnerhof in Bergen just the other side of the autobahn from Chiemsee and travel in. It's hard getting pitches on these lake sites at German Bank Holidays. Wagnerhof is a nice site with excellent facilities with a good mixture of German and Dutch campers mostly.

We can then get up into the mountains, either walking or via a cable car, or take the bikes to Prien on the lake and cycle the pathway around it or park in Grabbenstadt and walk in through the moor area (Scarlet Rosefinch if it wets your whistle) to a nice beer hall set on the lake about 3 miles away. Good viewing area around Seebruck as well.

Left Baltic Wharf at 2 minutes to Midday ( we don't like to waste money) and wound our way to our next stop, a CL deep in Somerset country. Next stop will be Brue's backyard if she's unluckywink. Off to Wells and Ham Street nature reserve tomorrow.

Glad that the stitches are out OP. You'll be longing to get away in the van now, I guess.

Boiler service engineer finally arrived today so that's sorted for the next 12 months, hopefully. Managed to get half of the inside of the van polished so hopefully will finish tomorrow. Dark and dismal after lunch and another wet walk with Flyte this afternoon.frown

Not too bad a day here today, spent the afternoon at DD's house installing her new roller blind, a couple of dimmer switches, and an extra double socket in her spare room.

Tomorrow we plan to visit Ikea to get some shelf units for the Guide Hall and some other bits and pieces.

Thanks, Tammygirl. I like your comment about Spring, I'm getting to the stage where I've had enough of the winter!

It was a busy day yesterday but we arrived safely at the Brighton Club site and checked in and paid for our 21 nights, more clubcard points! I have increased credit limits on both Tesco credit card and Barclaycard to help us through the winter until we get our seasonal pitch.

After we got sited, we put the awning up. It wasn't easy as the ground here is very hard and difficult to get the pegs in even though they were rock peg nails! It took the whole of the afternoon just to get the awning erected. We still have to assemble the furniture but that can be done today. Our pitch is quite close to the toilet block which is useful.

After that, we drove the Shogun to the house address in Worthing and swapped over for the Smart car. We also collected our mail whilst there. Then we went shopping in Tesco Extra Durrington just to get a few things like milk which we had run out of.

We got back to our site just after 8 p.m. and then had our dinner before retiring.

It's back to work this evening 17:30 to 21:30.

A couple of years ago whilst sat in my car in the pay and display on the harbour quay behind Arwenack Street, Flamouth, a tiny kitten jumped up and grabbed the foot of a Herring  Gull that was sat on a low wall. The gull flew off but the kitten didn't let go until about 50 yds out over the water. Very sad.

It is like in Peterborough some one saw the car park meters being stolen from Asda but did not ring 999 in case they found out their addressundecided

We got all the awning furniture assembled so I was able to sit out in the relaxer this morning. Then we had lunch followed by an afternoon nap. Now woken up again, sun still shining.

We'll probably have to leave here soon after 4 p.m. as the traffic is very slow going through Brighton. My wife plans to do the shopping this evening whilst I'm at work, so I need to drop her off at Tesco Extra Shoreham before going on to work.

Lovely sunny day in Bury, walked into the town, wandered around the famous market smile Staggered back with bag full of Lancashire's finest black puddings, cheese and pies. surprised Market shopping more fun than Tesco's wink

Had a walk along the river this afternoon in the sunshine. Site has slowly filled up during the day. It's happy hour later in the pub, just may have to wander across. laughing

Do you know when you have an inkling that you've forgotten to do something important?

Well, I suddenly realised what it was just after 6.00pm tonight as we rolled up the farm drive towards the caravan. My bladder reminded me that I hadn't thought about it for the whole day since leaving at about 10.00 am. Then as soon as you have remembered, you immediately want to rush to the toilet. So I dashed out of the car, then when I got to the door remembered that the keys were in my coat on the back seat, dashed back, got them, back to door and the ruddy alarm wouldn't switch off.foot-in-mouthfoot-in-mouth. You then do the one leg, hop to the other, dance whilst fiddling with same keys, open the door and realise you've still got dirty boots on so try to take them off and what happens? Your laces become knotted and the sound of your wife rolling around laughing behind you isn't helpinglaughing, so much that she now insists that her need is greater than yours (no chance). I tell you, sometimes, relief is one of life's unsung joys!😙

I had a nice dry day today, (well until just after 6.00pm I did).

Lovely day with the morning spent visiting Wells and the Bishops Palace. The sun was shining and we enjoyed a good 2 hours pottering around there and the cathedral. Then had a spot of lunch at a local cafe before driving to Ham Street RSPB reserve, the other side of Glastonbury, and had a wonderful afternoon, ticking off something on my bucket list which was seeing thousands and thousands of Starlings coming into roost and doing their marvellous acrobatics before settling into the reeds. Wonderful. A full day. Can't wait for tomorrow now. Think I might be enjoying this winter caravanning lark.

Helen, glad you enjoyed Bury. It's magic. ( Thought you'd gone to a different Bury than I remembered when you mentioned sun in January.laughing)

Woke to find that we had a hard frost through the night  & all the cars parked up had frozen windows.surprised It was then a lovely sunny day till late afternoon. Completed the polishing in the van, fridge cleaned and new window catch fitted. We'd been having a problem with the waste pipe from the sinks not draining properly, but finally this afternoon I managed to clear out the gunge that must have been blocking it. Job done and well pleased. laughing

Hope your OH has had a lovely birthday Helen and that you have a lovely time with your son and his girlfriend.

The weather has been mixed here this week. A very cold and snowy weekend followed by mild and very wet weather mid week. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day and today mostly sunny as well.  OH has been busy in the garden! I hope this nice  weather continues  we are watching 2 of the grandchildren (cousins) playing football against each other tomorrow morning. I have then been invited to the 50th birthday 'do' of our daughter's best friend tomorrow - afternoon tea with prosecco at a local bar.  I am not sure that it is quite my scene but hopefully I will enjoy it when I get there.undecided

We went to see The Darkest Hour last night.  What a wonderful film.  We were both riveted. Gary Oldman is such a magnificent actor. He played Churchill so well. The guy who did his prosthetics is local and went to both school and college here and has been nominated for an Oscar. Well done to him.
