Latvia? You've a good chance of a Russian tank on the next pitch.

Very strong winds overnight and early this morning, now dropped a bit. Lots of rain and snow melt so the burns and rivers running very high when we went into see Mum this morning.

Another drop off at the charity shop after Mum's visit, then a bit of shopping before going home. Car back in at the garage as the brakes are needing new pads, OH would normally do them himself but not in this weather.

Having to delay our going to see youngest son and family this weekend, as they are down with the flu bug.  DIL and kids have had it for a week but son just started with it, so giving them wide berth until the following weekend now.

H&T have a great time at Burrs we always enjoy our visits there. Don't forget to check out the Market on Friday.

Well, if you make it to Bavaria then we might well meet up as we will be heading that way in May. No firm plans set in stone yet but can see us being somewhere near Chiemsee around the second Bank Holiday, Himmelfahrt.

So if in the area give us a shout or if you want any idea of where we look for birds, likewise, shout.

BTW - "Two lads"? Who are you kidding?smile

Helen, if you are looking for a good run for the dog and a bit of exercise for the two of you then you could do worse then head for Rivington Pike, just the other side of Horwich. Big area that the dog can run around in and you can always walk up to the tower on the hill. Set below Winter Hill TV mast. About 30 minutes or so drive from Bury.

There are 2 "Barn" cafes there.

Anyway, enjoy your stay and the friendly locals.

Enjoy your stay at Burrs, H&T. Are you meeting up with your son?

OH was woken at about 5:30 this morning with an alarm going off.....turned out to be our caravan!! Must have been badly rocked a strong gust of wind. I eventually managed to cancel it, after firstly trying with the car's fobembarassed. Never at my best being woken up abruptly from a deep sleep.

Fine day all day here and the wind had died down. After cleaning the outside yesterday I started on the inside today. Hopefully will complete the job tomorrow.

Yes Nellie we are here to meet up with youngest son and his girlfriend, at the weekend. ☺ Been out to the Brown Cow pub tonight, chatting to the couple  who will be the assistant wardens at Ferry Meadows in March.

Take care all those who are out in their vans at the moment, especially with the high winds.

The weather seems to have improved at last. No more or rain here! So hopefully, we'll get some nice weather for our journey to Brighton in the morning. We plan to leave here at 11:30 as it will probably take an hour or so.

Enjoy your celebration of Burns night! Don't forget the Tartan Kilt as well! Scotch on the Rocks no doubt. Single Malt or Blended?

The awning is down now and packed away!

I think we'll have to wait until at least 11:00 a.m. before we leave as Brighton is only one hour away from here and we need to arrive after 12 noon.

Just as our Scottish friends will be celebrating Burns night, we Welsh will be celebrating Santes Dwynwen, the welsh saint of lovers, our equivalent to Valentine Day.

just had an interesting call from someone wanting to talk about a problem with my windows, told him they might be dirty after the rain but there was nothing wrong with them, don't think he found it funny.

Good dog! Simply the best. cool

We took the MH down there a couple of week’s back. They taste even better freshly cooked and eaten while parked overlooking St Ives Bay.

Busy day today. Sent some dosh off to my Spanish lawyer which, hopefully, will be the last lot, booked the MH in for an anniversary service for April and a ferry booking. Downside is that I've not seen much of the rare blue sky we had today.
