After a hard frost it’s a bright sunny day here although coolish.  Had a really rough night and didn’t sleep at all well.  Never mind just saw and advert for my perfect job, as a warden on Skomer, £16k a year and food and accommodation for 9 months of the year, unfortunately Mrs One thinks they won’t want an old grumpy git like me.😤😏🌝🌞🌞

Dentist today, all new fangled procedure everyone handed a wi fi tablet, answer health questions etc, type in any important facts. I did wonder what that's like for anyone not used to such things. Apparently the staff all sign in this way (thinks, must be different in a lot of offices/works nowadays?)

Dentist finally persuaded me to change a front filling, it would "please him no end and I am quite good at it" he joked. I'm just seeing £ signs but I think it might be free with our dental plan which I keep thinking is getting more expensive. undecided

Finally escaped and went to town.....wink

I would think Skomer would be ideal for a grumpy old git as there would hardly be any other humans to be grumpy with, only the Puffins

An afternoon in the garden for me. Bit of tidying, uncovered lots of bulbs now coming through, first snowdrops are out. Always good to get outside for a few hours. But cold eventually drove me indoors, that and the lure of the stove.......laughing

We’ve a Big Birthday coming up next month (OH, not mine that’s in December) so all the family are coming up. I do tend to leave things to the last minute, but as we’ve a lot on before then, I’m breaking a habit of a lifetime and starting in good time. So, one bed washed and changed. Only five more to go. I could never run a B&B!

Busy day today. On duty at the cathedral this morning, then met a friend for lunch, got home and another friend rang, then grand-daughter arrived followed by god-daughter, then when they left my cousin rang and then another friend rang - now exhausted 😩. Why did they all choose today? 😕 Dentist tomorrow morning as I need to have a tooth out 😦

We visited CAB in Worthing this morning to get tax advice. They gave us a number to ring. So I phoned the number and got through to an adviser. As my wife is not working, she can transfer some of her tax allowance to me. So after speaking to both of us, they agreed that my tax code would be altered within the next 30 days and I will be given an extra £1500 tax allowance. I will also be entitled to tax refund for tax already paid. So successful outcome for us!

Watching Breakfast showing us how to photograph the moon, the photographer has a huge telescopic lens, but my Panasonic Lumix  camera gives me a decent picture, and after setting the camera up a cloud cover came over so he still didn't get a picture.

Who's going to be watching the super blue moon tonight, not that we will be having the full effect in the UK.

Overcast and getting colder here. Rain, sleet and snow showers are supposed to be with us shortly as are strong winds. Bin day here as well, but general waste this week and that won't be blowing anywhere short of a hurricane. At this time of year there is at least 60kg of fire ash in the bottom of it.😂

We aren't allowed to put ash in our bin, but as we only use wood we spread the ash on the gardensmile

Moon was full last night but high level cloud mad it impossible to get a decent photo.  Typical that now we have rain and cloud it is unlikely to get and photo's tonight but fingers crossedwink

OP. I think your photo the other day might be all we're going to see. We're just going through some varied weather here, a roaring wind and hail, now patches of blue sky  again, will retrieve the bin once more! More "weather" to come apparently.

Sun is coming out in Lancing but very windy. Had to go to the chemist this morning as Mrs route has developed a bad hacking cough, bought some day nurse and Vic vapour rub, probably won't do much good as these things take their time but hay ho lucky old Vic, does it really need to be rub on every two hours. 😉😉

Took the dog for extra long walk this morning,  hubby said our local buzzard had be joined by a second, no sightings this morning, and then the rain came so headed home. cry  Decided to strip the beds and give the house a bit of a clean before work this afternoon, got distracted with a bit of kindle shopping.😉

We joined the National Trust last night, decided it was a good idea, give us more places to explore locally and when away.☺

Weather has improved may risk pegging washing outside now.😞

The amount is 10% of the basic tax free allowance, so I don't think it will be as much as £1500 this year?

Just checked, the tax free allowance is £11500 for 17/18, so your wife can transfer £1150 this tax year.
