We're feeling the effects of Storm Georgina this morning here in Redhill, gusts of wind rocking the caravan, so no plans to go out anywhere. Normally, we take the awning down the day before we're due to leave but today the awning is going to stay put. We'll be taking it down tomorrow morning, our day of departure, by which time the weather will have improved, hopefully!

Was that for humidity. Surely it was never warm enough?

Very dull wet and windy here, although supposed to brighten up this afternoon. If they phone up to say the van is ready to collect from service, I think they can keep it till tomorrow. Recycling bin day here, so far none have blown over and deposited their contents over the neighbourhood, at least not in our road.

Very windy here - with gusts up to 70 mph overnight. It's eased off now - averaging about 40 mph.

    I'm staying put inside.

Wild and windy here this morning. The rain was bouncing sideways down the road. It's recycling bin day here too and so far all bins still upright. 😐 I'm waiting in for the living room carpet to be delivered and fitted. Furniture everywhere 😳. It must be the worst room to carpet for disruption in the rest of the house.

It always feels warmer in bed at night because of the duvet and yes the humidity as well.

Continuing windy here too, Goldie. The caravan is rocking as I type! At least the awning is still standing with storm straps and plenty of guy ropes.

We have had a call about the caravan. Service finished, all OK. Well except new tyres which I new about, cracks in the sidewalls, so time to go. Arranged to pick it up tomorrow, when the weather is supposed to be better. As we have a service plan, just the tyres and wash to pay for. Does this make the service free. 😉😇

I believe she already has one.  It was originally an interest free one which she got when studying to finance a new computer, long since paid off, but I think she still has it.

Unfortunately not everything can be paid with a CC, not her tax (she has that put aside), and the WM repair man only takes cheques or cash.

I know what you mean Kj, we had to pay cash every week when staying on Lancing Fruit Farm CL. However, now that we're staying on club sites, for the rest of the winter, it will be card payments!

It's still pouring with rain here so we stayed in all day watching various TV programmes. There was a movie on, starring Hugh Grant called 'The Englishman who went up a hill and down a mountain,' which we watched after lunch, an entertaining romantic comedy!

It's my second day off from work today so I'm starting to feel less tired and a little bit more recovered from all that commuting. No need to drive anywhere today, just relax! Tomorrow is moving day which will be a different story. We're just hoping that the weather will improve in time for our departure, which reminds me, I must check the latest weather forecast!

I just had a look at the BBC weather website and it looks as though the weather will improve in an hours time and change to fair weather, although that's hard to believe at the moment with the grey sky and rain pattering on the caravan roof! I hope the forecast for dry weather tonight and tomorrow will dry the awning out by the morning. Sunshine is forecast for the morning. Well let's hope they're right. Some kind weather for our moving day would be much appreciated!

Our MIFI expired at the end of last year and we forgot about it until coming away. However our local Argos had sold out. Nevertheless we tracked one down to the Argos in Droitwich Spa and we were staying close by on a CL, so called in there last Saturday. The sim card though turned out to be invalid so back to the shop on Sunday, no replacement to be had so when we arrived in Bristol on Monday we walked into Broadmead and asked them for one. They didn't have it but there was one at Bradley Stoke, about 10 miles North East of the city. Could they deliver it to the shop in the centre like other Argos stores do? NO, can't be done.

So today we braved the city traffic and headed to Bradley Stoke. Not doing that again. Anyway we have one and it's working, yippee. Came back via the M5 and in from there this time.

Walked into the centre and got some stuffing for the rabbit, stopping en route for a bite to eat. A nice warm Bouillabaisse for me and Cod and Mussel Masaman curry for Mrs.WN. Rabbit now partially stuffed! Read previous posts if confused.surprised

I thought you were on holiday WN?! wink I am partly relieved to hear about the rabbit, to be left without innards was not a good prospect....laughing

Our van has passed it's MOT, another relief.

We weren't doing much this morning due to the rain so nothing wasted.

Anyway Mrs.WN now has enough stuffing for lots of rabbits so she's going to make another one, this time female, and let nature take it's course.laughing

Not really WN, talking to my brother and we might go in September/October as two lads together☀️👥

Thought Mrs One would prefer Black Forrest, Bavaria and Austria.

    continue to enjoy your trip

ps. Mrs One currently knitting two penguins 🐧🐧

Now settled on our pitch at Burrs, a new site for us. Journey up the M6 this afternoon was pretty uneventful and the weather improved the further north we got ☺ sun even made an appearance 🌞

Now just got to plan activities for our stay.😉

Hope you enjoy your holiday Helen, the weather is just starting to dry up a bit here. I took the two terriers out this afternoon (visiting one this week) and they got covered in mud, it was a quagmire round the fields.

Thankyou Brue, we passed lots of flooded fields en route and the ground round the pitches is squelchy.  Brought plenty of old towels with us for the dog 😉
