What are you all up to

Yes but with Barclaycard, I've always found, that when the interest free period ends, I've always paid off that proportion of the debt because on a 30 month interest free agreement, the minimum payments alone are enough to pay off the debt over such a long interest free plan.

They make some money out of the balance transfer or money transfer fee, Kj.

That's why I said the Panorama video was one-sided. It showed only the losers, not the winners! They wanted to make out how terrible the banks were, when in actual fact they are just a normal business like every other business that provides a service to customers for a profit.

Changeable today, one minute rain and hail, the next bright sunshine, 4 seasons in a couple of hours. Can’t get motivated today so playing the couch potatoe game.
Apart from the snowdrops yesterday enjoyed the interesting posts from B2.
Happy landings Moulesy✈️

I have never had an interest in such things and I am happy with any interest charges as I shall not be paying them.
However when you take a new card and transfer a balance I assume that there is still a minimum monthly payment to make of a couple of percent? If you miss this payment then you have breached the terms due to late payment and then loose the zero % and revert to 20%+

Us too, but you can play the banks at their own game, apparently it is called stoozing.
But only sensible if you have a good amount if savings and self discipline and not that profitable these days with low interest rates.
You get an interest free card, put all your spending on that and keep your money earning interest.
When it is time to repay you could then get a fee free balance transfer and continue indefinitely as long as fee free ones are available.
There will no doubt come a time when you cannot get any more deals, so you obviously need to be organised, and never spend more than you have in the bank.

Mixed bag of weather today, lovely and sunny one minute then rain showers the next. All the snow from our area has gone now and its much warmer, lovely in the sunshine.
Went to see Mum this morning but she was having her eyes tested by the optician (which can take ages) so decided we would go back tomorrow.Managed to get the seating cushions back into the MH between showers, just got the bedding to go in but think I will leave that until Thursday.
I'm off to the Chiropractors in awhile to get my neck and shoulders adjusted, bloodshot eye is now looking and feeling better thankfully.
OH has just started his ironing with a bit of luck he might do mine as well
Not a lot else happening here, had notification from Post Office that my new bond has now been opened. Still waiting for M&S to process my application for a new account.
Be good everyone.

Waiting in today for the openreach engineer. We upgraded to super fast broadband before Christmas, but although the speed improved nothing like what they told us it should be. After much complaining, although to be fair they did do something remotely each time, we got an engineer visit.
He explained that our house phone wiring, which was last upgraded when those plug in sockets appeared, was not really suitable for the high speed internet age. He said when infinity first came out it used to include a visit and the replacement of wiring if required. Now they just send them out and see if folk complain.
Anyway wiring replaced. Still unsure if they are going to charge us for that. Speed now between 70 and 50MB, as not yet settled down.

Just booked Chatsworth for next Christmas!! Much to my surprise there were still vacancies (although not many). Would normally have booked breaks for this and next month by now but waiting for the Powrtouch man to come and fix the motor mover.

If you set up a direct debit in accordance with the terms, what can possibly go wrong, EasyT? With a direct debit tomtake care of it, you should never miss a payment.

Mrs.WN wants to have words with the resident Robin. At home our Robins are quite well behaved and wake up at sensible times, i.e. when daylight breaks. Here on site at Baltic Wharf they sing all night long, especially if perched on the tree above our van. Me? Slept the sleep of the innocent last night so can't comment one way or t'other.
Had a good walk from site up to the Suspension bridge and eventually into Clifton and down to the RWA Art Gallery (where I was assumed to be eligible for Senior Citizen Discount
), onwards to the Cathedral but forgot to call in at the market for rabbit filling! Always tomorrow. It rained a bit here and there but by and large an enjoyable tromp around Bristol centre.

We always use the fact we have elderly person in house so they tend to prioritise. Might work with yourself.wink
That's how it's going to work for us too. The guy at the other end of the phone did ask if anyone was over 60, so one of us just about qualified!!

Finally heard from the garage, DD's car has an unrepairable hole in the radiator. It is over 15 years old, so not totally unexpected.
Hopefully they will get the new radiator tomorrow and we will be able to fetch the car late afternoon.
Nothing but expense for her at the moment.

Sorry to hear about the car KjellNN. It doesn't matter what car you've got, it always seems to end up digging deep into the pocket. I have an automatic Discovery and I have a bad feeling about my auto gearbox. So much so, I'm avoiding a trip to Europe this year....

Perhaps she could get a Tesco Clubcard Credit card, Kj. Then she can earn some points for all that spend!

It's our last day here at Alderstead Heath. Tomorrow we'll be hitching up ready to make our way to the clubsite in Brighton. After that no more long commute. We're booked to stay 21 nights in Brighton. So it's going to be a busy day taking the awning down here and putting it up again there all in one day! Then we'll need to go to Worthing to swap over cars so that I have the Smart car to use for my next shift at work which will be 17:30 to 21:30 on Friday, plus same again for Saturday with Sunday as a day off.
