We had a very windy night here and woke to find that one of our fence panels is down frown Also plant pots blown over and some of the facia from the shed has come off. We don't normally get such high winds here.

The wind seems to have died down this morning with blue skies and sunshine! The caravan rocked a lot but luknily no damage done by the wind. The awning survived without any problem, thoroughly battened down with storm straps and guy ropes.

Just call me Scarface, back from the hospital after another minor operation that required sutures. Lovely staff made me as comfortable as possible.💜

Wind moderated from the 65mh last night, fortunately no damage here. Have a safe day all

We did a bit of lonely sea and sky stuff this morning, hardly anyone about on Hive Beach in Dorset. Nice coffee and not allowed cakes. wink Lovely to get some sea air. smile

Good Heavens! I thought the photo had been posted sideways at first. Never seen anything like it, must have been seriously cold. ❄️

I've never been tempted by equity release either, took so many years of working overtime etc to pay off the mortgage in the 1st place!

But I suppose it's each individual's choice, depends on other finances and family commitments. Not for me though. Well not yet, anyway!

We’re hoping for a quick getaway after milking tonight, as we’re off to another gig.

This time it’s Steve Knightley (of Show of Hands) at Lancaster University. Back in 1967 when I left school it was considered too new and too near to apply to. This will be the first time I’ve ever been there.

Not for us either, though we could downsize if we needed extra cash .

Unlikely that we will as long as we are both in reasonable health, plus we really like living here.

It's been a busy day today. This morning I had to drop my wife at Merstham Station to get the 11:11 train to London Bridge for her dental appointment at Guys Hospital.

She got back to Mersthan Station at 4 p.m. so I collected her from the station and then drove to Shoreham Tesco to drop her off to do her shopping. Then drove from there to Lancing but arrived too early for work, so after eating my sandwich, I decided to catch up on the postings here. Keep getting error messages though, internal server error etc. So not sure whether this will work but trying anyway!

Yes I couldn't get into it either OP

Not too bad a day today, no more snow fell overnight and nothing today though we might be getting some tomorrow, hope it won't be a lot as we have to drive to Dunblane to pick up Granddaughter for the weekend at teatime. It wasn't freezing today either we had a few hours of nice sunshine.

More sorting out of the attic room, another run to the re-cycle centre. Lots of empty cardboard boxes which we had kept from new purchases just incase they had to be returned. Thankfully all purchases now out of warranty period so boxes can go smile

Lots of my crafting materials deposited at the primary school, some very happy teachers and hopefully children. Another load taken to the charity shop in town mainly DVD's and books but a few items of clothes.

We had strong winds during the night along with heavy rain. It was fortunate that we were in a well sheltered position, as the van was rocking a fair bit as it was!!surprised Power was off a couple of time during the night too, but only for a short while. Calm and dry when we got up, and although we had a short shower we managed to get packed up and away in the dry. Some rain on the way home but dry when we arrived and were able to get the van unloaded with out getting wet. There was snow along the road side from the M6/A590 junction to close to home and there looks a lot on the Lakeland Fells.

Just as this thread stopped I was posting a reply to Goldie about Steve Knightley playing down here on Saturday, don't know whether it went through or not, the whole system seemed to jam.

All safe and well. Definitely been one of the muddiest trips we've ever had, Flyte's never been so dirty so often, and I seem to have worn my wellies most days.

Excitment is building in the moulesy household - big birthday tomorrow when I officially join the ranks of the OAPs. Got a letter from that nice Mr Hammond this week saying he's going to send me some extra dosh each month and a text from one of my ex students today saying she'd got me a card but lost my address so could I text her to let her know what it is! wink

Bowls in the morning - drinks on me, win or lose, then out for a celebration meal in the evening. Off to see Rovers whip the mighty Bradford City on Saturday (only a tenner to get in now!) and then start packing (obviously  under supervision wink)   for our trip to Costa Rica on Monday

Not sure I'll be able to contain myself! laughing
