It will be an afterrnoon trip in the Smart car cariadon. I couldn't do anything this morning. I kept falling asleep in the relaxer, in the awning because of the warm sun coming through the front window!

I thought you liked the outdoors, that's why you could not work inside a building, also cheaper to walk such a short distance.

Started off bright and sunny, decided to go for a spin in the car, and a lovely walk. It was hot on the sunshine but cold in the shade. Ended up visiting Leeks in Cross Hands, then to Llandeilo for lunch then a walk up Paxton Tower to admire the wonderful view overlooking the Towy valley and the Botanical Gardens and across at the Black Mountains and Pen Y Fan in the distance. Hopefully all this walking since 1st will help shed the extra pounds(not the money) I gained over Christmas. Will add photos later.

Lovely afternoon for us, despite the snow showers. Walk around Wentworth Estate, lunch in village pub, then meandered home via a few of the Wentworth monuments. Home now, stove alight, dogs snoozing, comfy armchair, lovely!

Funny day, got up to very dark grey skies, then we had 45 mins of heavy big snow flakes followed by blue skies and lovely sunshine. Freezing cold once again with tonight a warning of possible -9 in the hills/glens and around -5 where we live.

Another day of sorting out drawers and cupboards, I have now made it up to the attic room for a big clear out, having to be ruthless as OH will just not let things go he's quite a hoarder.

Also did another check on bank accounts and found I'd forgotten about an ISA I have with the AA surprised its due to mature in April this year lovely smile

You said to me that I never listened to your advice. Well now I can prove to you that I did listen and acted accordingly.

You said to me that I would be better off staying in Brighton for 21 nights after leaving Redhill. So I've amended my booking from 3 nights to 21 nights in Brighton from 25/01/2018 when we're due to leave Redhill. Then 21 nights at Gatwick after that, followed by 8 nights in Brighton again before taking up my seasonal pitch at Northbrook Farm, Worthing. Like you advised, better to pay the additional site fee for Brighton because of the saving in fuel cost of the long distance commute. Thank you for your excellent advice!

It turned out to be long distance even by car and when we got there the post office was closed because they are only open 9 to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays!

The low life have been stealing the parking machines from the car parks and streets all over the city. JVByell As there has been such a spate of it since Christmas I can't understand why the police haven't had more a presence in the car parksfrown. Which café at FM Meadows has a dog friendly area?  Son and DIL would love to know.

Why not 8 nights in Gatwick followed by 21 at Brighton?

The answer to that is the awning, EasyT. Less work and better to do the  awning after 21 nights than after 8 nights!

But you said that you were having 8 nights at Brighton and 21 at Gatwick. I was suggesting the other way round as there is still an 8 night stay bur less commute.

We've had decent weather for our last day of this trip. Drove down to Marbury Country Park this morning, where we met up with Wherenext and Mrs WN for a walk round there and the Flashes before heading over to the Leigh Arms for a light lunch. A most pleasant day out and very good to meet up with them again. Hope that the weather is kind to us tomorrow as we head back to Cumbria.

Yes, a lovely morning spent with Nellie and his long suffering wifewink

A nice lunch as well. Always an enjoyable experience catching up with them, but they've now put ideas in Mrs WN's head and she's looking at getting away on Saturday for 2 nights staying at a CL en route to our brief stay at Bristol. Looks like I'll be busy tomorrow with cooking for MIL for freezer stocking whilst we're away and packing van.

Hope the weather is kind to you NTH for the journey northwards.

Looking at the weather that SW Scotland has had then we were lucky getting away on Monday after the funeral. Could still be there.

Hope you find a suitable CL and that you manage to get away on Saturday. Have you any idea where you'll stop en-route to Bristol? Have a enjoyable trip.

We have met a few people on sites that have done that. It is certainly not a course of action we would consider surprised

It was just 3 nights stay at Brighton after leaving Redhill. We decided to extend that to 21 nights, otherwise it would not be worthwhile to erect the awning just for 3 nights. Yes I suppose we could have followed that by 8 nights at Gatwick and then 21 nights at Brighton but that would mean taking the awning down after 8 nights which seems a bit too short at this time of year with the dodgy weather! The last 8 nights at Brighton will be the start of Spring and hopefully better weather for that job!

We have had a mixture of weather today, rain, sun and snow.  Roads were not too bad so I was able to do my plumber and electrician duties and replace the shower at SIL's flat.  Lots of lovely hot water now.

Took me about 1.5 hours, maybe 2, so that has saved him a good bit, which I expect he is happy about as the actual shower unit was over £250.

Forecast is for more snow tonight, but mainly a little further south from here, down where our son lives.  His children's school is to be closed tomorrow due to the bad weather.
