Did Harry and Lady get any of the leftover turkey, Chris?

We had our Christmas lunch at 12:45 p.m. of roast turkey with sage and onion stuffing, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, pigs in blankets, gravy, bread sauce and cranberry sauce. We also watched the Christmas Top of the Pops, after which we went for a walk along the harbour and got back in time for the Queens Speech on BBC1. This was followed by a cup of tea and afternoon nap. Then the wind and the rain started and we can feel the caravan rocking as I type this. It's also getting dark. So time to start the evening celebrations!

All the best to everyone today. Hope that you all got what you wished for.
We had a 3hr walk this morning and took our picnic of smoked salmon buns, followed by mince pies all washed down with mulled cider. Back for a couple of hours rest before cooking our X-mas dinner in the van. It's been a sunny, dry but breeze day, although it's now started to rain.

Thank you, Pliers and Happy Boxing Day to you too!

It rained on and off all evening. Modern technology hasn't yet stretched to the point of stopping the noise of the rain from the caravan roof!
We watched Vera Lynn on BBC2 followed by the Morecambe and Wise Christmas Show before switching to BBC1 for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.

I assumed it was the modern technology causing the noise. Our previous van with a roof on which you could not park a Mondeo😂was a lot less noisy in the rain. In our Bailey during heavy rain we just switch the TV off, or if it's something we particularly want to watch record it. Trying to continue watching is pointless, unless you want to use sub titles.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas Day, we decided to say a cheery hello to every one we met when out walking our dogs yesterday. Got lots of cheery hellos back as well. Some lovely dogs out with new coats on, best was a sausage dog (Dachshound) with a knitted elf coat, lovely lively little thing it was.
Best wishes to all, this was our first Xmas without Dad, but we managed ok. Kind thoughts to everyone else who has lost a loved one this year, keep smiling through!

Takethedogalong I'm glad you managed Christmas Day without your dad. Condolences to your family. It isn't easy you just get through as best you can, first and subsequent Christmases.
This is the first year, because we're going away, I've not bought plants for absent family who are no longer with us to celebrate. I buy the outdoor cyclamen and they form part of the decoration of our conservatory at Christmas and last long past the festive days. I then place them in my garden and am amazed at how many survive. Sadly these days one plant is generally shared by at least 2 folks otherwise I couldn't fit them all in.

Lovely day at Son & Partners yesterday, she is real chef,12 of us sat for dinner, then party games, before realising it was 2300 and it was time to head home,
Not the best of journeys lots of rain and high winds on A10,with plenty of other cars, and lots of standing water and puddles on the coutry lanes to home.
Very wet and slippery when out with Rosa, although colder but sunny and the wind had dropped

Brilliant sunshine here today. Didn't really get light yesterday, then heavy rain and strong winds in the evening, so all blown through for today 😆.
I'm delighted to report that the Christmas cake was none the worse for its very long slow cooking 😉. There's only half left - sent mum home with about a quarter yesterday, son will still have a decent sized 'red cross' parcel to take of cake and other perishables 😂
Just taking it very easy today. Off for a walk with the dog shortly, her second, I gave 1st a miss as road walk. It will be again due to muddy park, she had a roll in something delightful yesterday so had to have a bath, not something good to do again today 😆 as she is a guest at another house Thursday night 😉. I'll happily do a road walk now the sun is out.
I always greet folks when I'm walking, with out without the dog and whether they have a four legged friend either. Reactions an be quite amusing 😂.

You don't expect to meet up with these on a walk across the Suffolk Marshes. Not sure whether they are Rheas, Ostriches or emus?

At least the rain has held off today but it's clouding over again, so looks like it won't be long before we get another downpour!
Plenty of leftover turkey, so no need to do any more shopping today!
We've just finished watching the Beatles movie Hard Days Night on BBC2. Plenty of nostalgia in that!

After a very manic but lovely day yesterday ( oven decided it was not happy, nothing wanted to cook as fast as I would like
) with the family I'm having a bit of piece and quiet till they all come back again tomorrow !!!! I've sent OH down for a beer at his local club, he didn't want to go of course !!!!!
yeah right....but I pushed him through the door and told him to come back in a couple of hours
So I'm sitting with my feet up and a glass of sherry and enjoying........ silence.
Hope your all enjoying your Boxing day whatever and wherever you may be. Have a good day people.......right another glass of sherry for me I think

We had some lamb and vegetable soup for lunch earlier to make a change from turkey. It will be turkey again for dinner tonight. We had planned to go out for a walk but the rain has put paid to that! It's raining now as I type this with a rather grey and dark sky. So it's going to be afternoon inside our caravan with the heating on to keep it warm!
After all of the excitement of Christmas, Boxing Day seems a bit of an anti-climax!

I've just been watching the Channel 5 programme about Balmoral. Lovely views of the estate and countryside.
It's raining here but not hard enough to make enough noise to blot out the sound of the programme and its commentary, plus a dark enough sky to make the screen clearly visible. So it seems like the best way to spend the afternoon. The only problem is having to endure the commercial breaks, especially as many adverts are repeated over and over again, much to the annoyance of viewers!

If you're watching Channel 5 at the moment, you'll be seeing the Queens meals at Christmas for a change at Sandringham. Seeing it brings back memories of our visit there during the National Rally this year, another beautiful place!
