What are you all up to

Could you not fit a solar panel on the roof of the car, like on caravans, to charge the battery. I don't think the electric cars will take off as producing enough electricity to charge them will offset the clean air they want to achieve.

Brue you should pay a visit. If you can I recommend a bit of a longer stopover a few days exploring is great. We did 10 days in Thailand last year - no jetlag at all. Didn't add much to the cost 😉.
Round Table have been round with Father Christmas this evening 😆. Snapped on my phone to send to granddughters, not great quality but you get the idea.

Oh dear hope the cake is going to be ok, shame if it didn't bake.
Both curtain sets now ironed and hung, not sure if I like them now
Brue when we were down at Barnsley last weekend there was a Salvation Army band playing in the market place, I got all goose bumps haven't heard one in years.

Everyone has been busy today , making me feel very lazy.
Bakers2, you are lucky to have second oven, hope the cake cooks.
There are quite a few houses decorated with lights on our estate, it makes taking the dog for his last walk round the block much nicer.

I'm hoping the cake will be ok, it looks it. The other oven is much hotter than the one I removed it from 😲. It's a semi rich cake so hopefully all will be fine, Christmas cakes are better for a long slow cook, fingers crossed. So glad we had a double oven with the kitchen refit. Not 5 years old yet my old oven cooker was about 20 years old. We are so not environmentally friendly these days 😤.
Tammygirl endure the curtains for now and spend longer on trips 😉.
Helenandtrevor isn't it cheerful to walk the streets when the lights are up? Even the cold doesn' seem so bad 😉
Just watching polar bear town on bbc2. Poor bears 😢

We had the Round Table santa round our houses last week! Son declares that he is too old for such things, he's 36! Santa didn't have a sleigh but did have a Jeep illuminated and santa went to the doors where there was youngsters dancing onto the next house!

Thank you for your best wishes the other day, they're all moved in now after 3 days of sheer hard work. The first load was Friday evening and when I walked in the new bungalow we found out we had a leak in the bathroom.....which had flooded the bathroom, hallway and some of the bedroom. We tried to clean up as much as possible and I had an emergency plumber in at 8am Sat morning. Second load moved on Saturday with more clearing up / drying of floors and then all cleared up for the final van load on Sunday including In-Laws. We told them then about the leak as we didn't want to upset them beforehand. It's amazing what you can fit in a 1 bedroomed retirement bungalow. 3 large van loads full to the brim and a car!!
I'm back at work today, off to Birmingham to run a revision course tomorrow for those lucky people who have their practical exams in January. Back home Tues night luckily. I'm off over Christmas and New Year so I'll get the In-Laws all settled in with pictures on walls etc then.

Yes. I often wonder what's the point of having side lights if they are never used in towns and cities where the street lights give enough light to see where you are going.

It seems so but if they could be used instead of dipped headlights in urban areas, it means you can be seen by other road users without needing a powerful headlight beam to see the road yourself. On the Smart electric, this could save battery power sufficiently to extend the range at night.

I'm expecting a phone call from the Smart car salesman this morning to update me about a date for delivery. Hopefully, he'll have some good news for me!
Work hours today will be 6 to 11 p.m. The boss asked me yesterday if I could do an extra two hours tonight, so I agreed. It all translates into more money, more wages, more fuel allowance and more, hopefully, generous tips to help us celebrate Christmas!

So glad you have got your In-laws settled into their new bungalow Hallsontour. I hope they will be very happy and that you all have a good Christmas.

Lovely sunny morning here. We plan to go to the Shoreham Tesco Extra this morning as we need a few groceries, running out of bread, so just a small top up bit of shopping.
We've booked the pitch here with the site owner for when we return from Bristol on 5th January when I'm due back at work with my new Smart Electric! I saw it on the e-brochure in green and black. It looks lovely! All shiny and new!

I just received a phone call from the car salesman. He's still trying to find a car from another branch if the dealership. He says if none is available, he can order one from the factory but that could take 3 to 6 months. So I said to him whichever way it goes, I'm happy to wait the 3 to 6 months as I've still got the existing Smart to carry on my job.

If it's a factory order and it takes 3 to 6 months, I'll get the benefit of usage of the new suspension and two new front tyres that I paid for of my existing Smart car for that period of time. So it may turn out that I will get value for that spend after all! However, I will lose another £600 to £1200 in fuel costs.

The question now is that if it takes 3 to 6 months for a new build from the factory, would that mean that I would be charged additional cost of another 3 to 6 months depreciation on my existing Smart car? If so, it would be a bit unfair because it's not my fault that it takes them additional time to get one in stock.

Frosty start again this morning, footpaths quite slippy, not that the four paw drive one was bothered,,
one of the regular dog walkers was telling me they had the company xmas party two weeks ago, then she was called into the office last thursday and made redundant, she had worked for them for 19months,its one of these medical negligence claim companies with a turnover of over nine million pounds a year, how obscene is that, all because the NHS (mostly)staff are under so much pressure ,and some "mistakes" are made ,even people get compensation because a stitch after an op is unsitely

I just hope the depreciation won't cost me another £6000!

I don't think I'll be able afford to use the gas kettle, if I have to pay more money in depreciation! Also, I have another £440 bill to pay on Thursday for my two weeks site fees at Baltic Wharf CMC site in Bristol so more Tesco Clubcard points when Tesco already owe me nearly £30 in vouchers from my next statement!
