The driveway people have unloaded the mini-digger, an hour and a half later than stated and then promptly disappeared to get a supply of red diesel. I think they may have gone to the Gulf for it. Not an auspicious start to the project.

Great pic Brue, we only have large buds, think it will be a while till they bloom.
Despite the frost and snow etc. we do have sweet peas still blooming

As soon as the final leaves fall I'm on the look out for signs of Spring! There are catkins on our Birch trees and even flower buds on our early daffodils. The daffs are very early varieties but it cheers me up to see them. I know we might have snow soon but things keep moving forward on the ground beneath.

In the top toilet block at Broadway CAMC Site is the 100 year old Wanderer Caravan. Photos not brilliant because of the glass case, but thought some might be interested to see.....

How can anything grow, brue, when there's frost and it's dark by 4 p.m.? When it gets to evening there's nothing else visible except the TV screen!

Some sun here today, but also clouds. Off to my woodturning club to borrow the pen making equipment, going to make some as Christmas presents.
Kitchen worktop now ready to install so will do that this evening.
Good visit to son and family yesterday, they had home made soup for lunch, plus sandwiches. Helped him to change the opening side on their new tumble dryer, took us ages as instructions not very clear.
DD and her husband were there too so we loaded up both cars with the baby stuff she has "inherited".......pram body plus wheels, pushchair body that also fits the wheels, small folding buggy, folding high chair, some clothes, and a baby car seat.
However, the current advice is not to use a car seat that is over 10 years old, this one is 12 years, so she will need to buy a new one. Pity as the seat also fits onto the set of wheels.
I need to check whether her car, a 2002 Volvo V40 can have Isofix points retrofitted to fix a baby seat to before she decides which seat to buy.

Lovely sunny day again here, some clouds but enough blue sky to keep me happy.
Decided we are going away this week for a break in the MH, off to Bury first (visit market) then across the Pennines to Penistone to see our youngest son and family for the weekend. Not sure where after that will wait and see what the weather is like, might be York, Durham, Harrogate or Bolton Abbey. Then possibly a couple of days stopping off at Edinburgh for the Christmas market before going home.
Weather doesn't look good for the drive down on Wednesday but never mind its always good to be away in the MH. OH has got the portable solar panel sat out on the grass topping up the habitation battery in prep for going, water is in and primed ( no frost for next to nights hopefully)
I've been busy in the kitchen making soup and chilli to take with us and cooked off some chicken thighs for snacks.
Diet (healthy eating) going well both have lost weight so happy at that, not easy at this time of year as we both love the winter meals, just finding ways to make them healthier.
Off shortly for our walk before the sun starts to go down.

Photos look lovely Brue, we still have a wall rose flowering against the south facing front of the house. Not got any Daffodil bulbs up yet but the grape hyacinths leaves are through, no snow drops yet either or crocus.
Malcolm, your wife won't get winter fuel as she is below the age for it.

I used to get £200 paid to me while my wife was below the qualifying age, not sure whether that has changed now.
However I seem to remember that Malcolm said his wife had "no recourse to public funds" so that would mean he could not claim anything extra for her anyway.

Yes you do.KjN Mr H got £200 until I reached qualifying age and then we got £100 each. It is £200 per household but now Mr H is 80 he gets an extra £100. Whether he will have to share that with me once I reach 80 or I get another £100 remains to be seen - quite a few years off yet!!

The ongoing driveway saga. The mini digger has just ripped out my Virgin fibre cable although to be fair to him it was buried less than a foot down so we now have no TV, phone or broadband. This message is courtesy of two cocoa tins and a bit of string. Catch up with you all later.
