Haven't got one, Francis, but seen a few put up this last year. Nobody complained and all seemed satisfied and they did seem to go up fairly quickly.

There have been several threads on air awnings in the Parts and Accessories section. Try looking back through that to find what you're looking for.

Good luck with the new van. Must admit we're enjoying ours that we changed to in August.

We've just got back from Worthing. We gave the Shogun a run around Long Furlong, filled up fuel for the Smart Car at the Tesco pfs in West Durrington and are now back at the caravan for lunch.

Hope you have more luck with your air awning Francis, ours is gathering dust in the garage, mind you I think we made the mistake of buying a cheaper version. We bought a Kampa pole awning this year to replace it.

undecided Overcast to start with this morning here on the Kent coast.Collected a boat trailer from a client and towed it to B/yd ,,,who required to motor his yacht from Herne Bay ,along the coast to Oare Creek (our boatyard) to be craned out and onto the trailer there .Good high tides BUT,,,he left it late to depart Herne Bay,therefore travelling against the Westerly breeze lost the tide and ran aground !! So heavy anchor and chain deployed and they came ashore in a dinghy. We will try again on Tuesday !!weather permitting.undecided.  In the meantime ,,,we lifted two boats out this morning for the winter .Never a dull moment !!surprised.

    A productive day.

Weekly shop (including a couple of bottles of Gin that were at prices too good to miss).

Last week’s wine delivery finally unpacked and stored in the wine racks in the pantry. Do you think 74 bottles is enough? All English - keeping the faith with Buy British.

And finally my recent vinyl album purchases are sorted and slotted in their right places.

And - I’ve avoided any real “housework”!

My OH got mine as well, so was paid  £200. ☹️ Not that I am bothered as it is the same account.😀 I assume it is a hold over from before I was 65, where I qualified for it but had to request it. When I phoned they said they could pay it to OH and save me the paperwork.

like your attitude Goldie, Any of your wine from Chapeldown in Tenterden?

I hear they do a terrific sparkling, brut rose.

The £10 Christmas Bonus is one of those things that is hardly worth the effort but no one is brave enough to stop or reinvent it. Far better in my view to only distribute it to people on Pension Credit or Disability Allowance at an enhanced amount? Those of us that have the good fortune to have both a State and Private/Occupational pension could, I am sure do without it?

This delivery of four cases was all from Three Choirs, partly because of a very good offer. We do buy from other vineyards, and I think there is some Chapeldown somewhere.

How many different wines? I have had a  few bottles of English wine and they have been excellent although probably verging towards the medium rather than dry. Perhaps I should try a few more, any recommendations? Are there any reds in your selection?

Arrived at Broadway CAMC Site this afternoon for a few days.  Very quiet here but we are not alone.  Christmas lights up, Blue Planet on the TV and almost time for tea.

Sparkling, white (several from reasonable to dearish), Rose and various reds. Something for every occasion! And more dryish than medium.

It’s a case of “try it and see”.

We usually buy online (either Three Choirs vineyard or Waitrose Cellar).

There is no Waitrose round here, but I expect they have them in store. Booths (where we shop) also have a good selection.

But none of them are “3 for a tenner”. Be prepared to pay more.

Just had a pleasant hour snooze in my comfortable office chair in front of the PC. I felt that I needed a doze after lunch out with friends! Is that an age thing??

Good day out today started at 09.30, drive through to Dunblane to grandaughters school.

It was the 'Rookies' parade today, these are the 10/11 year olds that started school in September, they have had to learn how to march and do drill along with looking after their uniforms.

They were very good and all did well. After the parade we all went to the school church for Sunday service, which was taken by the 'Rookies' the choir was very good.

The school is very fortunate that they have their own church within the school grounds, many of the ex pupils chose to get married there.

The school has lots of history and the pupils are very proud of it, now that they have 'done' the parade they are no longer Rookies but 'Victorians' if only I could manage to post a photo I would put one up, we got a great one of her and her father (our son) both in uniform, very smart.

We left Mum & Dad with her for the families lunch and chose to go and try and do some Christmas shopping, managed a bit for the kids but nothing for anyone else. Still off to Bury on Wednesday so might just manage some there.wink

Hope everyone enjoyed the milder weather this weekend we had a very good mild day today, much better than the freezing cold day of Remembrance weekend.

Edit: ET OH having a snooze as I type this laughing

Looks great David. We are going away in our caravan in a couple of weeks and have the Christmas lights looked out already. Its been quite a mild day today so I went out and washed the Volvo while SWMBO packed some more stuff in the cvan thats almost everything and we have cut down on a lot of stuff.

Have a good time Francis.  Are you going far?  This time of year we tend not to go far as we like to get the 'van back to storeage in the light, and our storeage closes at 6pm in Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb.  Fifty odd miles is long enough for winter months.  There are a handful of caravans but a few more motorhomes on site.

    Enjoy your break.

A day off from work today. Also, it was fairly quiet last night at work, so they let me go home 15 minutes earlier. Also I got the new rota for this week. I've got Monday and Tuesday as days off and then working Wednesday to Sunday evening, total of 18 hours to work this week.

Yes Steve. It is a yearly occurrence.  I remember when my Dad first got it he was delighted, but that was many years ago and £10 was worth quite a lot then.  I think it is a nonsense now. Mr H was 80 last June and when he got his letter about his winter fuel allowance he found out that he now gets an extra £100.laughing He is not quite so fed up about being 80 now.
