How's your footy team doing?

Thanks both. What a game, played in atrocious weather in front of a full house. The atmosphere in the John Smith's was phenomenal , when the away team score the crowd usually goes a little bit quiet, when Man U scored our support got even louder to really get behind the team for what we knew would be a tense 20 minutes.

Talking of supporters. A number of Town supporters have cycled over various routes for the past eight years to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Town Foundation which provides free breakfast for thousands of school children each day.
This year they are cycling in France and Belgium over four days and 280 odd miles in a route called The Last Goal Post. This will commemorate the six Town players killed in action in World War 1. The route will visit the last resting place of these chaps one of whom was the first professional footballer to be killed in action.
To put a perspective on this the cyclists are paying £250 to take part and must guarantee £750 minimum in sponsorship. The event was sold out within a couple of days! The club chairman has taken part in every one of these events.
That's a side to football that doesn't always get the publicity it deserves.

Papgeno, read a lovely report about a young Town fan who found a fiver at the match. I know it wasn't your grandson, but I can imagine him doing exactly the same 😊
No goals, but a great game at City last night. Extra time and penalties, good value for £10, but no good for the nerves.
And The Wolves! Very good team, I know it's early in the season, but can't see them missing out on automatic promotion. Good luck to their very vocal fans, they certainly outsung our lot last night.
Keep the faith all.....⚽️

Well another reality check . Just goes to show you can't expect to defend for 90 minutes and get anything from the game. I just watched a MOTD report on Town's breakfast clubs which said the club had served 800,000 breakfasts free to local schools since 2012.

Just back from our 5 night trip to Naples, good win for City at Napoli. Really exciting game, but the "stadium" 😱. I've been watching football for 60 years and have been to some really grim grounds. But Napoli is a new baseline, absolutely filthy, the "seats" were thick in bird droppings, the "toilets" were thick in human droppings, just awful.
Enjoyed the trip, we went to Pompeii, Vesuvius crater etc, but won't be in a rush to go back to FC Napoli!

Another cracking home atmosphere yesterday and three more points. Diabolical referee, that's twice he's tried his best to do us over. The first time against the Toon he succeeded but yesterday even with the 6 minutes of injury time he magiced from nowhere he failed.
Its two years to the day since Herr Wagner became our head coach here's hoping for many more.

Talking of referees I noticed Northern Ireland have just been knocked out of the World Cup.The only goal over the two legs was from a penalty given by the ref following the ball hitting a player on the side of his shoulder as he was turning away.
The numpty needs a lesson in basic anatomy if he thinks that is handball.

My team is - was, Yeovil Town (awaiting howls of derision) but Ive finally decided that after last weekend's game away against Carlisle (4-0 ) that they are simply not worth watching any more. Why?
They just cannot seem to grasp the idea, that every time they get someone sent off, they are down to 10 men (once even 9). All too often it happens and as a result I'm off.

Doomed, Doomed, We're all Doomed
Expecting to read any day now, in the local Weekly, that planning permission for a score or more houses on the Gresty Road pitch has been lodged with Cheshire East Council.
The Only Score that we are likely to see I reckon.
P.S.
Don't fret TF we're in the same boat & its SINKING !!
P.P.S.
We don't need Refs to scupper our chances Moulesy, we are experts at doing ourselves in

My sentiments exactly. We'll just have to beat City and Arsenal it's that simple.
We'll be there on Sunday praying that we don't get a right stuffing.
🙏🙏
Thats at the John Smiths not in church because I don't think even divine intervention can save us.

Well, it certainly wasn't boring!
Some very strange refereeing decisions, but that seems to be the same in most games now.
Equally strange, about 6 Dynamo Dresden fans sat behind us at the match, suitably dressed in Dresden hats and scarves. I've no problem with that, but just wondered why....., but then, why not!
Good luck tomorrow night at Arsenal 😱

Hope its the same on Sunday !! but they threw points away against the division leaders when at least one was there for the taking. definitely seems they won't be happy until they drop out of the League altogether. Still it could make a nice car park for the H S 2 users !
