Our dentist just gives as a quote for the whole job. In the scheme of things that is all I want to know. I don't know about lab fees except a month or two ago Margaret had to have a tooth reattached to a plate and that cost £50 which I thought was rather a lot for the amount of work involved!!!

We went to see Flying Scotsman on Saturday JVB  and Mr H said it looked like a fairly big job and that he thought it would be at NVR for a while yet.

Another grey and gloomy start to the day here in Worthing. It's my last day off from work before having to go back tomorrow evening. I checked my bank account and noticed that my 4 weekly pay from Pizza Hut was showing up as a pending transaction so I know how much I'll get paid tomorrow! In 5 days time I'll get my civil service pension payment and the day after that my 4 weekly State pension payment is due to me.

Day after tomorrow, I'll be taking my wife to Highbury College in Portsmouth for her English language level A2 exam. The exam starts at 12 noon but she has to be there half an hour before. So we'll probably leave here at 10 a.m. It's going to be a busy day for me because I'm working 18:00 to 22:00 that evening. We'll get the result 13 days after the exam. So we'll know by 11th November. She needs to pass to fulfil one of the conditions for her spouse visa extension. The certificate has to be sent to the Home Office along with all the other documents. Also I have to send bank statements and other documents of proof of income. The visa solicitor will assess whether the minimum income requirement of £18,600 is being fulfilled through the self-assessment earnings and projected PAYE earnings before the application is submitted. The deadline is 17th November for submitting the application along with all the necessary paperwork.

That is the concensus of the staff then of course when repaired, will need some time "on test" so it might be used on the railwaywink

That's right, EasyT and very expensive too. The total cost is about the equivalent of 8 months earnings at Pizza Hut!

Tricky have a great time away. Ensure you put that source of alternative heating in, the mild days are over this weekend 🌬⛄. Will it be the garden centre breakfast?

Spent most of the day painting....again!

Smaller room this time, only the non-tiled areas of DD's shower room, but had to repair the ceiling around the downlights first.

    Second coat tomorrow.  cry

Perhaps you need another holiday, KjellNN! You might have to go a bit further south though if you want the sun and warmer weather. The Costa del Sol should do the trick!

You could always tell family members to do it themselves.  By what you write on here your always doing stuff for them so you must enjoy it.  smile

Just off to babysit the grandtwins for the morning, hopefully take them for a walk on the marshes.

Apart from a quick bit of varnishing, didn't get any jobs done yesterday. Was unsuccessful in trying to teach six year old grandson how to bounce stones on water. Not too disheartening though. I've not managed to teach my OH the knack in over twenty years.

Clear blue skies here today, but cold. We still have about 40 acres of 4th cut silage to get, but the ground is sodden and there's no way we could travel on it. Hopefully it will dry out a bit if the weather holds.

Since July 1st - it has rained on 96 of the 118 days. So far in October we have had two fine days.

But onto more exciting things! Later this morning we are heading off to Harrogate for not one but two gigs! A wonderful coincidence that means we get two nights in a hotel (and not Premier Inn for once) and a chance to sleep in beyond 5 am.

Tonight it's Show of Hands in St Wildrids Chruch. Then tomorrow a different experience  - Squeeze at the Convention Centre.

We go to quite a few shows in Harrogate, and sometimes take the caravan and stay at the Knaresborough site - but there's a time for self indulgence and this is it!

Goldie have a wonderful time. A real bonus of decent hotel, lie in and gigs. How fab.

Oneputt enjoy the grandtwins I hope you get your walk at the marshes and they enjoy what you can show them. They are very lucky to be with a wildlife expert,  I'd love a walk with someone to point out things.

Clear blue here but single figure temperature at 9c but very welcome. None the less. If I'd not got an appointment this morning it would be a good day to tackle the windows and nets. Shame 😂😢😂😢

    Enjoy your day folks.

Phew! what a day yesterday thank goodness its over, never stopped. First thing Mum's 91st birthday so off to the home with cards/presents, she had a lovely time and the home made it a special occasion for her. Chef made a lovely cake with her name on it, she brought it though while we were there so they could take photos for their memory wall. The cake was to be cut and distributed at afternoon tea, the home even bought her a present a lovely soft cuddly dog, she's only been there a couple of weeks but they have the measure of her already smile

Back home just in time for the Malta crew arriving from the airport, kids all excited at being 'back home' despite the cold (to them) it actually was a nice sunny day. Then up early this morning as they want to get down the road to Sheffield via other granny's at Livingston. Had to scrap ice off the windscreen surprised first time this year. Lovely sunny day now though.

Time to put on some warm clothes to go and road test my new bike, we have a good hill close by so want to see how it manages it compared to our current bikes.

Have fun everyone in the good weather (if you have it) anyone away this weekend drive safely.

No time for a holiday at the moment, too many things to do, plus we are not long back from 5 weeks away.

No plans to go away until at least next Easter as we are expecting a new arrival in March.

Yes, I like to keep busy, but painting is one of my less favourite jobs, it wears out my arms.  I think the muscles in my arms have deteriorated since I retired and stopped climbing ladders on ships and offshore installations!

Normally DD does her own painting, but as she is 21 weeks pregnant, I have offered to help out.

Next week will be flatpack assembly time, much more interesting than painting.

Shower room did not take too long to go over again with the roller, just a light fitting to replace tomorrow.
