Saw  that  on  10 pm  news  tonight,  and  the  storms  are  supposed  to  be  heading  north  and  east.  I  hope  everybody  escapes  with  just  a  sprinkle  to  water  the  flowers, and  perhaps  the  occasional  light  display.

    Fingers  Crossed,  Brian

Cracking thunderstorm overnight and the garden got a good soaking so everything looks a bit fresher this morning.  We are off to meet up with some lovely friends who we met on a French camp site many years ago.  We are having a day on the great central railway as we all enjoy a steam train ride. I think it's going to be a hot and humid day. I hope if you got a thunderstorm that it didn't cause any damage or flooding.

Same here Millie, plenty of Donner und Blitzen combined with rain, think that put a short halt to the cereal harvest.

Picking up rolls, sausages and burgers for the Scout group BBQ tonight.

Loading van today for early start tomorrow.

You can get airconditioning for your house, KjellNN. Before we were in China, we lived in a flat in Gloucestershire for 5 years and had airconditioning there.

Had some rain  overnight, but hardly enough to wet the pavements. No storms here. Have lots of jobs to be getting on with this morning, just trying to motivate myself and waiting for the pain killers to kick in.

Many thanks for the good wishes, dentist thinks that's all for now!

    ABM I'am sure you'll be fine.smile

I've got a dental appointment this afternoon. Just a check up I hope. If he finds anything else that needs doing, it will mean another big bill. There'll be a bill for the check up too!

After that, I've got a five hour shift to do this evening from 5 to 10 p.m.

We had a jolly good dose of rain overnight along with a very bright and generally low long rumbling of thunder that went on for a couple of hours. Not keen on storms, or fireworks for the matter, myself but the lightening through fully lined thick curtains and closed eye lids was BRIGHT. OH appeared to sleep through although he now claims only dozing! Result is slow lethargic start to the day and lack of motivation to add to it 😉. Not helped by the humidity, it's only 20c.

For those of you with energy and plans enjoy and may you be successful 😆. I'm away to try to achieve something even if it's only minimal 😂😂.

Forgot to mention the sun is out here so may play hooky in the garden 😇

I'm a domestique today - supporting my "team leader" - by whizzing back and forth dusting and tidying before his distant cousin pops in.

Not forgetting the Feed Station for the other workers.

It will be a final sprint at the end to get done in time. Maybe I need some energy gel.

Since it was a "real electrician" that did not bother to mark the cables in the first place, I think I will pass on that!

For the couple of hot days we get here in a year, I don't think I could justify the cost!

We have a fan that circulates the heat from the south facing rooms to the north facing rooms, and also draws in cool air when necessary, and one that sends it downstairs, where it is always cool, so we manage fine.

In winter, we are glad of the "solar heating".

Easier to get away from the heat in a well insulated house than a caravan of course, like you, we do use the air con in our caravan when necessary.

Had plenty of rain overnight but the main thunderstorm went round us,did get up at 0315 and came down to check on latest family member, as was not sure how she would be,ended up sleeping downstairs,, as she was showing signs of stress  but she went to "sleep" again when she had company, smile

On walk at 0730 noticed plenty of debris and signs  where there had been "rivers" of rainwater coming from higher up in the woods, and road leading to local school(bus route)was half blocked by mud and debrissurprised

How is Rosa getting on, is she adapting well? (Now that both our dogs are deaf they didn't notice the thunder rolling round here last night.)

Hope she's enjoying her new life!

Brue   thanks for enquiry ,Rosa is so far a real treat to "own" she is not too sure around town yet ,but went under the table when having a meal in one of our local pubs,(until landlady came out with a sausagesurprised) she has been fine in a Notcutts garden centre and Pets at home store, also has been in the river(although we were advised she did not do waterundecided)  we let her off the lead first time yesterday , as we felt she had "marked" her walk route enough if she got "distracted"but she has been very good on recall ,and keeps checking we are there(not sure if she sees a deersurprised) ,she is the same as our last border collie and shows little or no interest in toys or chasing balls ,we have had her to our own vets, and she has been given a clean bill of health, and the vet we saw (from  USA) did all checks and gave her second injections, trimend her dew claws, so now we can really start to enjoy her companysmile (and lose some weightinnocent, next is a couple of days at one of our local club sites to see how she adapts to the C/van wink

You are very keen!  I have not even given OH the figures  for mine (she takes care of these things),  and will not be handing over the money untill I have to.

Keeping it in the bank will earn me a few (very few!) pounds interest, every little helps.
