We went to the market in Worthing town centre this afternoon and bought some vegetables.
This evening I start work at 5 p.m. and finish at 10 p.m. It's been cold and windy here.

By the time I finish my shift on Friday, I will have worked a total of 39 hours. So I will be owed £292.50 in wages from Pizza Hut, even if I'm taxed at 25% i.e. £73.13, I should still get £219.37 plus tips. So it should be a fairly reasonable income when added to my pension to enable two of us to survive. I'm not brilliant at Maths so I hope my calculations are correct but I'm sure you'll be able to correct me if I'm wrong.

For once it appears that the north of England is getting the best of the weather.
Lovely day here yesterday and it's positively cracking the flags today. Hubby has even got his legs out.
The forecast for the rest of the week is just as good.

Very true Goldie. Also tips are taxable 😲 so I wouldn't be mentioning them at all 😉.
Hairdressers and waiters used to be assumed to receive a certain amount of tips at one time and I believe had their tax codes adjusted accordingly. Don't know about these days. Still best way to not get into trouble is not to publicise earnings. HMRC have eyes everywhere 😂 and a person is much easier to track down and sort out than large global companies 😉.
Do you have a uniform Malcolm? I believe there's a tax allowance still for laundering of same. But you have to claim it.

I've had to copy the past I put on the Pointless thread as I must have got over excited 😂😂
Well it's taken all day for me to achieve something constructive, if you can call it constructive? I have finally managed to add photos to a story about adding photos to stories following David Klyne's and a staff post on a story without photos. I had commented on the story concerned about it not being easy to post photos. I feel I was set a challenge and I rose to it and I succeeded. But the effort involved means I may never do it again.
If you want to see photos of the inside of a supermarket in Hamilton New Zealand check out the story but you'll have to read the comments to find the photos 😉
I'm off to bed now to recover! I had had a very chilled/lazy day after routine chores knitting in the conservatory, I reckon if I'd had a proper day I wouldn't have attempted or completed the exercise. I fear I'd have said naughty words or chucked the equipment 😤

Cannot believe this weather. Yorkshire is the place to be at the moment, absolutely glorious, and forecast is good for days ahead as well. Not a drop of rain in seven full days, breeze is a tad cool, but out of it, very very warm!
We were lulled into a false sense of Summer yesterday though, set off roof off Jeep, t shirts, sunglasses, sun hats. Fine up through Hutton le Hole, and then we climbed, and climbed and climbed up to the top of Farndale. Hells teeth, frostbite had almost set in by time we reached The Lion's Inn, at which point roof was slapped back on, heater on full blast, coats, gloves, blankets and dog cuddling all applied in attempt to thaw out! Wind came direct from Arctic with nothing in between! Stunning views though once we braved outside the car! Bone dry as well. We had to peel layers off again dropping down into Rosedale, which was full of Americans filming something or other! Fabulous drive though.
Then back to Gertie for tea and stickies from Botham's!

Sounds like a lovely day out and well deserved for all your caring duties. Did I read your husband had chemo appointment recently? Don't want to intrude but wish you both well. Apologises if I've got that wrong.
Here in Essex we are experiencing what you climbed high to reach 😲. Brighter grey, just, than yesterday but only 11c with a chilly wind that's increasing in strength as the day goes on. Still no rain 😔.

Nicer day today, left Chalon this morning bit dull but as we drove South it brightened up. Now at Tournus for a couple of days, they had a bit of a heavy downpour before we arrived so we are on a h/s rather than the grass. Good view over the river so can see the cruise boats going up and down. Tomorrow is set to be fine so going out on the trike for a look around.
Bakers2, not sure why the delay other than they were checking everyone's passports, only 2 guys on the desks so really slow. Well done on managing to post photos I've not even tried.
Sun still shining but it's getting chilly, might have to put the heating on for awhile tonight, lucky we are on 10 amp.

We went to vote for our new 'metro mayor' today. It was like the Marie Celeste at the polling station. I think it will be a very low turn out.😕. Mr H is out at his Engineering Society meeting this evening and I am watching the film 'Le Weekend' which I recorded ages ago - it's not Mr H's scene.😁

Thanks Bakers. He has been very lucky. This year since January has been a roller coaster, but we are getting there! First time away, not too far from home, had a lovely time. Seize the day is our motto, 'cos you just don't know what is around the corner! Way to go yet, but doing really well, even been out on his beloved bike!

Our polling station was pleasantly active when we went at 1030. Seemed similar when I passed this afternoon. Lots of people walking around the road as well this evening so I reckon our ward had a decent turn out. Can't wait for the results tomorrow 😉. And in five weeks we can repeat 😲😂

Busy day today so up early in the bright East Norfolk sunshine. Car to garage for new rear brake pads. Meeting with new Scout Group treasurer prior to auditing the accounts. If time allows might whizz over to RSPB Strumpshaw/Buckenham Marshes and see if the Sea Eagle is still about
