Winter in Spain
Whilst I have done a lot of touring in Europe, it has only been in the summer.
I would like to go to Spain in the winter months, possibly January through March.
Ideally southern Spain would be good.
I don't want to end up on a campsite where I am the only van but on the other hand I have no desire to be sited in the middle of Benidorm. A site with good amenities and not too far away from a town that has a bar and supermarket etc.
I'm interested in the cost for ferry crossing and campsite fees and the amount of sunshine we can expect.
A route would be useful.
Do you go abroad in the Winter? Please share your experiences.

posted in your other thread but here are some other bits and pieces...
ferry from Poole to Cherbourg was around £130 each way.
route we took was cherboug to Nantes (aire at Les Sorinieres), Irun on the spanish border (nice car park in the town by the river), then through Pamplona, past Zaragosa and then to Benicassim for our first week.
you really need to be a little south of Valencia to get 'warm' weather that early in the year and despite this being a really crap winter/spring we got some really hot weather in Altea.
good luck.
