What are you all up to

Ian, I had something in a similar vein happen today.
I received a call from a very polite gentleman asking for our meter reading for energy supply. I told him that I was rather puzzled by his request as I had only just submitted them by email about 1 week ago and asked him to read my account details to find the readings. He confessed that he wasn't from my energy supply company, per se, but sub contracted by them to obtain the readings as they were very busy. When I asked him for the details of his company so I could verify this before giving him any of my details he suddenly said that as I had already supplied the details to them there was no need to take it further. Needless to say my energy supplier knows nought of this company and the telephone number was not traceable.
You always have to be on your guard these days, don't you?

Ooooh......that's one we have not had yet! We tend to mention TPS and then they generally just hang up.
Not feeling too great, have had a heavy cold and persistent cough since Monday, OH is threatening that if I give it to her, Christmas will be cancelled!
She always gets bad colds, but I usually shake them off, this is the worst I have had in many years......more years than I can remember.
If OH catches it I will never hear the end of it!

Congratulations Millie. Perhaps you'll be on the door next time we visit!

Hope you are feeling better soon, and can get all sorted out by the time Christmas has arrived.

Caught the bus from just outside the site's drive into Shrewsbury. Pleasant walk along the river, through the Quarry and The Dingle, up into town and than down to the Abbey. Back along the river and up past the Castle, before catching the bus back to the site. Weather was a bit cloudy and we had a bit of rain, but brightened up later in the afternoon.

Oh no! that is not good!
Mine are usually gone in a couple of days, but this one is really bad. No idea where I got it from. Grand daughter had a bit of a runny nose when we were there at the weekend, but otherwise have not been in contact with anyone.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. I am really looking forward to it but nervous at the same time. Hope it works out OK.

I gather that the virus around this year is really horrible. I do hope you feel better soon.

I'am sure it will Millie. How often will you be volunteering?
It is a long time since I visited the cathedral, but I remember it was a lovely church.

Oh dear, that does not sound good.
It seems very likely that OH will get it too and she is always very badly affected. If she does, and feels like I have been feeling, then it will be very bad news.
We are due to visit an elderly friend, tried to arrange it for Friday hoping I would be better by then, but she insists we should come tomorrow afternoon, I will have to sit on the far side of the room well away from everyone else.

I've not been well for about 7 weeks now. Thought I was getting rid of the cough until last weekend, when suddenly it came back with a vengeance. It appears to have gone down to my chest so went to see my GP who has given me antibiotics. It's finally beginning to shift it. Had to miss the Abbey Carol Singing tonight - fortunately someone else stepped in to give the notes and start them off. I need to get as well as I can for a concert I an directing tomorrow night. All fingers crossed at the moment.
David
Last years concert - just testing out the photo thing really. LOL

We have to get to the car sales showroom by 09:30 a.m. to collect the brand new Smart Car.
First of all, we need to get to the boss's address in Brighton to take back the company car and then he is going to give us a lift in his car to get to the showroom to collect our new car. The salesman rang me yesterday evening to confirm that the car would be ready for us to collect at 09:30.
It's just getting light here at the moment and it looks like a clear sky. So hopefully, I'll be able to get the car home in dry conditions. With all the new technology and gadgets that they put into new cars these days, I just hope I can familiarise myself with it all sufficiently to be able to drive it. We've chosen a bright orange colour for the car which we hope will brighten up the gloomy winter days as well as shine brightly in the summer!

Off to do The Big Christmas Food Shop this morning with daughter. I was hoping for an early start but she texted about half an hour ago to say that she had only just woken up . I have resisted the urge to ask whether she has heard of the invention called the alarm clock.

Also also off to do some shopping. However, going to look in on the caravan at storage first. Check none of the steadies have loosened off in the gravel surface, before Barbara strikes. Happens to be my mums name, I am sure they will point this out to her in the nursing home.😀
