Good to hear your news, B2. Like you I've been having trouble with new CT so not posted much. Still trying to catch up with other's posts from when the site reopened. Will post an update later if I don't loose contact again.

Great to hear from you Bakers. We have been missing your posts. Hope CC get the issue with kindles sorted out soon. We went to a Christmas carol concert at the Royal Albert Hall on a coach trip with some friends last year and it was just as you described and was wonderful. Really hope to go again sometime. Glad you enjoyed it. We have had a week of having friends to ours for meals and grandchildrens' Christmas concerts which has been great but I must admit I am enjoying an evening on our own in front of the TV tonight! We are watching a tribute to Victoria Wood. Such a great entertainer and such a tragic loss.
Sorry to hear so many people have horrid coughs and colds. Hope you all recover soon.

Just spotted this post H. Hope that you're feeling better. Plenty of hot drinks.... perhaps a toddy or two with honey might be the order of the day(s).

Yes do hope you both feel better soon Helen. As NTH says plenty of hot toddys should help.

Returned form a wonderful Christmas break at Castleton
Glad you had a good time at Castleton, H&T. How were the X-Mas lights? Did you manage to get some good walks in upon the hills?

I just wish I knew what's causing it, robsail. Most embarrassing.
The edit facility had disappeared by the time I got to view this page, what with trying to catch up with all the posts that I've missed because of this bl**dy awful new system.

We've now moved down to a new to us CL south of Shrewsbury. Lovely and quiet after the rather noisy sites we've been staying on, at Southport and nr Chester. This is our last site before we head to our Christmas CL on Friday.

I had to wait about 10 minutes for my last post to load from my samsung tablet. Something is very wrong with this site.

It was quiet on the site, but plenty of road noise. Not a site we'd think of using again, so there's a pitch for you ET.

Malcolm - Mrs H had one of those Smart cars for about a week. We hired it after we sold her car and we were waiting for the replacement.
We were amazed at the economy........from memory, I think it did about 70mpg.
Great for parking, as it was tiny.
Where do you carry the take-aways in it?

"Great for parking, as it was tiny." A bit like this you mean

I don't think it has rained in E Yorkshire for the whole of December, unseasonably mild temperatures again, no winds and plenty of blue sky although today is slightly overcast.
Be glad to get back to egg and chips tonight as we have had 4 Xmas dinner party's in 9 days.

Bit of a nightmare this morning, had grandsprogs overnight so it was the school run for the sixth form one this morning, and she had to go to a school 7miles away, but it was not as bad as usual as it seems most "workers" have started their Xmas break,

Just looking in. Trying to get shopping finished and sort out elderly neighbours once more. Their 25 year old car has now been written off. Their family know their predicament, no-one has been to see them. I've passed on a spare walking stroller from our family this morning as without a car the walk to the bus is impossible.
Calm down session now, cake icing to do.

There's space behind the seats for the thermal boxes. Yes very economical on fuel.

The lights in Castleton were lovely, did some reasonable walks, weather very misty so views were limited. Enjoyed the open fires and a mulled wine in the pub afterwards too.
