I am finding it very difficult too - but don't give up!  It isn't what I would call user friendly but perhaps that;s cos its unfamiliar?

Please reconsider bestboy, you will be missed by many of us older posters.

I'm sure things will improve when the wrinkles are ironed out.

Just take a break for a week. I uam away at the moment for a couple of weeks. When I tried to use the site with the tablet in portrait it was horrendous. In landscape usable. There is certainly sorting needed but I suspect and hope it will then be an improvement

Please give the new forum a chance it is only a few days old and is being tweaked all the time.  I think we are very lucky to have the Forum supplied to us.

I agree with HD. The new format has only been up and running for three days and its a bit early for anyone to be throwing the towel in yet I would have thought. By all means have a sabbatical for a week or two but give it a chance.

Never been a regular poster on this forum.Finding it hard to believe this operating platform is flaunted as an upgrade. Will have a sabbatical until springtime  (ish) .If when I next look in it is not improved it will become a permanent severance.

I am going to have a bit more of a rummage around today but I think I  too am going to have a couple of weeks off to see if they can sort this execrable mess, otherwise it will be time to jump ship.

This forum software is awful and clearly unfit for purpose.

I cannot understand why the Club have tried to reinvent the wheel and not simply use one of the off-the-shelf proven forum programs that are available for minimal cost.

there will be a few on here who think the new software is wonderful and defend it to the last. --- Not many !

BB has made a decision based on his opinion. It's his choice !!

While I personally think the new forum will  improve over the next few months, eventually coming  up to the standard of the old one, it will never be the "All Singing All Dancing" forum which most experienced  forum users have come to expect.

So that said, we have all been using the old forum for years so therefore we should have no problem using this forum once it is brought up to the standard of the old one.

    All the best  BB

    Cheers.................K

It seems a bit pathetic to have to wait months to get a product up the same standard of the  replacement which the Caravan Club thought worthy of upgrading !

Did the club ask for any input from bloggers here before changing. Seems not from the disappointment being shown.

They have had input many times, >here is just one example.< Like many other old threads the responses were lost in the upgrade. cry Clearly the User Spec was lacking much of our inputs.

I am wondring if they used the expertise from Alan Rogers to do this upgrade. AR had a software team in their Media group which is of course now owned by the Club. This could be no bad thing in the long term for enhancing products quickly with changing times? We will just have to wait and see.

I've been a regular contributor to this forum since soon after its inception. I'll pop back in a couple of weeks to see if things have improved but if not then I too will be leaving.

I have a notepad by my computer and as I notice things that need attention I note them down and will in, due course, will send them to Rochelle. Starting from yesterday I thought the forum had become a bit quicker which is a good thing. As far as posting I have had no problems and I can add photos although rather ironically I found it easier to post photographs under the old system but I accept we need a system that assists all. What really concerns me is that the New Forum is all that people are talking about and posts and discussions elsewhere have all but stopped. Perhaps I could encourage people to use the energy they are currently using just to complain about the shortcomings of the new forum to get out and about in the other sections and bring some life back to the forum?

David, I have also noted that.  Perhaps it indicates the disappointment which members feel about this much heralded new forum.   I believe many members expected forum software with all the bells and whistles one normally associates with forums in the 21st century.  Especially those of us who are members of other forums where comparison is apparent every day.

Interest will improve as the months go on and members return to this forum.  Time is a great healer.

    Cheers .....................K
