We have heating at home, but still use two different weight quilts throughout the year....
we replicate this in the van, too....just switched over to a warmer quilt in the van, OH doesnt like it too hot in the van...

We both sleep best in a cold room or van. Minus seven C outside and about two inside is lovely but not often achieveable. We just love being snug under a the duvet but nowadays we often wait for the heating to raise the temperature in the morning. Must
be getting old

We caravan all year round and seldom, if ever, have the heating on all night, and never at home. Hate sleeping in a hot room/caravan, nearly alway have the windows open.

Maybe we are strange.
At home in winter particularly window is open. Heating off at night. In the caravan heating set for 17C at night. I usually have my chest/arm uncovered, need to keep my spine warm however due to arthritis.

Proper sheets and duvet on a fixed bed in my 'van with one of these 3-way duvets. Keep the part not in use in the emergencies box under the bed in case of an accident. Not yet had to use both parts at same time as best method for dealing with a cold night

We don't have fixed bed either. Got fed up with putting sheet on each night. Have bought lightweight duvet and cover to act as combined mattress topper and bottom 'sheet' so I just need to roll it up and stow during day. Just need

We have fixed twin beds and use a double duvet on top of memory foam topper, lay on one half and cover up with the other half. Works a treat and just tidy them up in the morning and leave on top of bed, no need to store them away. 2 x 10.5 tog rated is just

We have fixed single beds and luckily have kept the duvalays we bought when we had motorhome , and just bought a change of covers at nec , they are extremely comfy for single sleeping cheers mrs bc:)

I don't like sleeping bags, so we use duvets. Always carry two, then if use double, which is most of time, one under, one over. In caravan, we sometimes sleep single on benches, so a double duvet each, rolled around! Snugly! No heating on, don't like van/MH
too warm. Can cope with a one dog tog rating, but two gets too warm! Three dog tog is only for temps under -10c!

Possibly worth trying is the duvet system we have at home which uses two duvets a thinner one and a thick one, at 4 tog and 9 tog, that will fasten together. The idea is you use the 4 in Summer, the 9 in spriong and Autumn and the two together in mid winter.

We bought Duvalays to go in our new motorhome, and they are worth every penny! Easy to throw on seating and cosy to snuggle in, without that confined feeling from a sleeping bag, especially for a fidgety sleeper! Easier to store than seperate sheet/duvet,
as they just roll up.0 -
We love our Duvalays BUT the quality I poor - material, zips, and quilt. My recommendation is to buy the covers only (they are difficult to replicate) and fit a Duvalay 5cm topper and a decent quality quilt. If you go to the NEC you may be lucky to get "seconds".
The topper has a better covering than the normal foam insert and, frankly, the quilt is just cheap and nasty and too heavy. Don't buy the bags; you don't need them and the Zips are poor. Elastic is good enough to keep the shape when rolled up.0 -
We bought our duvalays from towsure and the quality is very good , we didnt get a bag just fat elastic with duvalay printed on it, i must say at the time the hubby was dismayed at the price , but has since decided they were well worth the expense, cos altho
the quilt is light we dont overheat and have been snug in the snow, bought two covers for spares at nec havent used them yet ,they never mentioned that they were seconds to me , we have fixed beds now but had an arapaho before which meant i had to make the
beds up and they made it so easy just roll up wrap the elastic around and chucked it up onto overcab bed :-easy peasy id recomend them to anyone, just like the remoska , and the small slow cooker ..... Handy bits of kit cheers mrs bc:))0 -
Still using sleeping bag just as I used to do in my first ex-army, ridge tent { without sewn in G/sheet }
Its a system I've got used to over a few decades & I'm comfortable with it. { Must admit tho' that modern materials 'n fillings make the old Flock filling appear to be uncomfortable as well as inefficient
