    How would you police that?

But you have got the point I was making earlier, the club has started (by definition)  to operate a 2 tier membership. That's more  likely than not going to bite them in the derrier if they only have certain comps and certain special offers through Facebook.

Note I am not arguing for or against Facebook itself, that's up to each person.

Oh go on then, consider thisSmile, Facebook makes many Billions of dollars each year but has only one income stream -  you and your data.Surprised

CC is very keen on divisive measures it seems. For example, look at the ridiculous 'Club approved' stickers they started slapping on some posts until some of us shouted loud enough about it. Now we're getting hints of inequality in competitions.

For goodness sake, CC, try thinking things through!

Take a look on the posts. You'll see 'page responded privately'. You won't know which posters they are of course.

With 28 replying to the post I expected to see more than 9 winners....

Is it only possible to enter on Facebook JayEss?

If so then this is getting serious and I will be writing to the club.

You have to comment on the post on Facebook. Then I assume they'll announce the winner two days before the end date and they won't have commented on the post anyway.

    Usual farce

    Thanks JayEss.

So they are allowing members and NON MEMBERS to enter a comp worth £10K but not allowing MEMBERS to enter unless they join Facebook. Well thanks CC.

I encourage others to write to the club expressing their disgust if (like me) they think this stinks.

As I use the CL network and club sites in winter and I do not wish to cut off my nose to spite my face, the only thing I can do to protest is move my insurance business and ferry bookings to the C&CC.

I'm too much of a cynic to believe it's genuinely a competition anyway. Watch out for the new Meeks Wink

Yes quite a big expectation required from contestants including social media links etc.

    Hi Brue,

Just to be clear, the link you have provided is for the Magazine's competition. We are running another competition for another space on the same tour on Facebook, to enter this one you need only comment on the post with #NZWishYouWereHere

Thanks Rochelle but I'll not be entering. Getting that amount of time off for this October is impossible and I don't fancy getting involved in the publicity

    Hi Rochelle

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I am happy with that. I hope the club realises that a level playing field is what many members are concerned about.

If someone wants to be on Facebook then that's their business but those who choose not to be should never be disadvantaged.

I assume there is no chance someone could enter via Facebook and again via the Magazine? That would clearly give the Facebook user a considerable advantage. Could you confirm please?

As for Facebook you either you use it or you don't. On here those that do have had an advance chance at a comp (maybe the app people had the same chance.) All others will be hearing about it via the mag ....maybe another chance at a comp to fill the next pages? It will be interesting to see how it goes after that. I presume putting holiday snaps on will be easier than here?! Tongue Out

I've taken advantage of the WOW offer. Good deal there.

I can't see me sticking with the FB page long though as I use FB to keep in touch with friends and relatives rather than follow businesses.

Replies to messages via Facebook are like hens teeth so far for me at least. The good thing is you can tell they've been read

Well said, Fysh. I was in the middle of posting about the apparent inequality when we had a powner cut. Now Rochelle has posted there is no need for mine and only the question in your final paragraph remains to be answered.

I don't think you have to be a CC member for the FB entry (membership fees will be paid) I presume the same for the other NZ comp.? Not wanting to give Rochelle a hard time over this I won't make any further comments as it's a fantastic holiday to win and I'm sure one of the best ones going on CC just now!

Er, that means Facebook users can have two bites at the cherry and that's unfair. Can you see my point? Don't have to reply to that Rochelle but you might kick the problem upstairs and let the managers have a think about what they are doing?

    Exactly so, Fysh.

Rochelle, why should FB users get twice the opportunity of the rest of us? We are becoming second class members and equality is rapidly going out of the window. Please will you bring this to the attention of Nick Lomas.

Unlike Fysh, I would like to see a reply here - a meaningful reply from the top, that is.

I too would ideally like a reply but Rochelle cannot really be expected to come on here and say the Marketing Manager has goofed.

But he /she has, big time.
