It will depend on what system Blaupunkt use. May I suggest removing the card and view on your computer, you may need an SD card adaptor for the micro SD card. If you can see the files it should just be a case of copy and paste into the file where POI's are
installed. I usually download the POI's to the desktop and copy across from there. My suggestion will only work on Windows based systems I imagine?David

If you are able to determine the fields and layout of the stored information as David suggests, you may well end up using a spreadsheet to manage and convert the POI data you have. I’d suggest testing just one or two, to start, to make sure that the format
(and conversion) is correct. You will need to export your spreadsheet data as a CSV or text file and you may need t experiment with the several options available. It can be done from Mac.0 -

certainly my 'new' (er) Tomtom XL has all these features and even my ancient 'One' (not Jose Mourinho....) has the speed cameras, red light cameras and can change the colour of the speed display when over the limit by 3 or 4 mph.
check the specific countries' regs for the speed camera stuff....France has yo-yo'd a bit on this one.....i think the current position is that they are not supposed to be on but no-one will get prosecuted....a bit like the breathalyser
cock up....i still get updates from Tomtom and usually have them turned on, some countries might be more strict if they require them to be deactivated.
as above, ensure you have 'fastest route' set......have fun 'tinkering'.....

www.PoiEdit.com/downloads.htm is a free download. Perfect for converting gps files from one format to another, with ease. Also, editing is also very, very, easy. I tend to correct site positions
when I come accross gross errors.0 -
Just a side thought. I have also uploaded all of the poi files from the CC and CCC to google maps. I can browse everything and get site phone numbers on one map from my pc or tablet. I find this useful for planning purposes. Another feature of google maps,
is that it now supports off line navigation. I've yet to try that out though.0 -

ive seen some map applications with POI files 'superimposed ' onto google maps.
eg, campingcar-infos is the definitive source for european aires and uses this system, i have all their poi files and it would be hreat to have them on an offline copy of google maps...
i have them all on my tomtoms but seeing them on a tablet, along with the 'rich data' of phone numbers and photos would be really useful.

i have the maps and i have the poi data, so far the only way ive married up the two is on my tomtom.
alternatively, finding a way of using camping-car infos offline would do the job....

stopovers of all types (including aires, parking and campsites) can be found in www.campingcar-infos.com and files can be downloaded by country or as a total euro batch.
i only used the tomtom versions but other types available.
if wifi available, CCinfos is like having the 'all the aires' books online, with photos but for genuinely ALL the aires in ALL the countries.

That link works well John. I have no idea how you did it and not a clue how to ensure I don't loose it or how to make it permanent.
My old(ish) snooper has all the sites as POI's and can easily(ish) be updated from the Snooper site it also has a lot of other info that can be chosne and downloaded directly. The Blaupunkt is different. It gives you more freedom to do want you want but
no instructions as to how. Although they do offer "premium european POI's" for about 10 euros but they don't say what the download contains - just much more info. Probably all the McDonalds sites

The one advantage of putting POIs on Google Maps is you can zoom in to look at the lie of the land and other features like the nearest bus stops. I have put individual push pins on Google maps before but never attempted a full set of POIs. I imagine the best way to load them on to Google Maps is to download a CSV file and use a POI format converter to change them to .kml which I think is the Google format.

this would be the big difference to what we use currently....
ps....it looks like john's 'version' of google maps (from his earlier link) has become my default....it shows cc sites etc unless i turn them off.....i have closed and reopened maps so it seems its now in my copy....

I don't think Google do off line.
Why don't you like them on your sat nav? I have all mine on my Co-Pilot sat nav and my netbook OS and Navigator Explorer maps. The latter is a bit like MS's defunct Autoroute. There are also MS's Bing maps but again I don't use them very much but they appear to do much the same as Google Maps and I don't think they are available off line either. One thing which might be in favour of using Google or Bing maps is the abolition of roaming charges by 2017.peedee

you can create an offline map on google by clicking the three lines, , then my places, then view all and manage....you can save the map window you are currently viewing, provided its not too big....
useful for taking on a phone when cycling.....if you dont have a detailed map of the area.
im generally happy browsing the tomtom but having poi on google gives the ability to drill into googles vast empire of data.
ideally, id love an offline copy of campingcar-infos but i guess this isnt going to happen....
the CampingCard app from ACSI can be used offline and has rich data for every site along with good mapping and route planning.
drop the aires poi files onto an app like this and....bingo...

Just been looking at the user manual
>here< It can be used both on line and off but I guess there is less information in the off line mode. It is in French unfortunately so I am struggling a bit and my translator won't cope with 10 pages.Not much good to you though if they don't do an IOS version.
