Yes thank you B2. High winds and heavy rain here yesterday afternoon but no damage luckily. Glad you are OK. I think Wales and the Midlands got the worst ot it.

Confession time . When I posted earlier I was still in bed. Now up and have to report its still blue sky and sun but breezy, pegged bed linen back out to 'hazel' as they say around here. Fresh and cool just 5c when I checked soon after 9am. Beautiful autumn
day. Yesterday's blow thrtthrtough seems to have removed lots of leaves, so plenty of warming workout jobs for those so inclined0 -
Hard frost this morning coupled with black ice. Roads untreated and leading to some interesting skidding when drivers try to stop at road junctions. Clear Blue sky and bright sunshine. -- Great day for a walk in the countryside.
Cheers...........K

They say confession is good for the soul! To be honest I have better things to do in bed than post on here
Had caught up with overnight 'conversation' with daughter and too idle to shift so checked out this thread. Having to hurry now to catch up with morning jobs . Not my usual practise at all

Bright cold but sunny morning, nice walk with the dog, carpenter arrived on time to fit the new doors downstairs, so keeping out of the way. Downloaded
a couple of new books on the kindle and now having a catch up on here. Just a few hours at work this afternoon, then looking forward to the weekend.0 -
Lovely bright sunny day here, very hard frost and icey roads. Vehicles still twinkling with frost as the sun shines on them, should melt soon I expect. Haven't ventured outdoors yet but will need to the bird bath is solid ice. Then its some housework and
a bit of varnishing. OH has now finished making the Oak door thresholds in prep for the new hall/stair carpet, so need to get another couple of coats of varnish on them first.0 -
It's been a bit of a strange morning weather wise down here in darkest Wiltshire! Heavy rain in the early hours, then frost and a thick layer of ice on the car windscreen, now quite mild again! Just back from walking the dogs. Quiet day today have to wait
in for a guy to come (all the way from Leicester) to replace the Brita tap in the kitchen (fortunately justca month before the guarantee expires!), then lunch at the bowls club. Off to Bristol again this evening to see ageing Scottish rockers Deacon Blue at
Colston Hall (solo trip this time, not Mrs M's thing!).Have a good weekend everyone.

First snow of the season this morning, travelling through the Blackdown Hills to Honiton. Settled on some of the Western hills so Exmoor and Dartmoor must have had some too.
Sorry it's not exciting but there you go. Keep warm and dry everyone.

An exciting morning (well at least we were off the farm for a couple of hours).
Trip to the tip with a few old broken electricals, into town to apply for Bus Passes at the Library, then lunch in a newish cafe.
If we had walked to the other end of town we could have met up with the Caravan Club publicity Airstream at Kendal Mountain Festival.
But, needs must and back to work.

Frost not lifted all day from back garden, bird bath had to be rescued again as it was freezing over. Plenty of food out for the birds so they should be ok. OH making run to the skip again as he has sorted more stuff out of his shed he doesn't need. Varnishing
now all finished and looking gooooood. Living room had a deep clean, carpets shampood, furniture a good polish all looking very nice. Amazing
what sunshine can do to you, haven't felt like doing anything for ages.Nothing exciting just day to day stuff.

Hail and rain during the night, so more snow on the Lakes Fells. Periods of rain and hail when we were out with Flyte this morning and it's just started to rain again, just in time for our next walk. Have
to go and put on wet weather gear and wellies again, now.0 -
Mainly bright and sunny with chilly wind. Still walked into town in padded body warmer (I did have jeans and sweatshirt too) and sunglasses. Dried my bedding beautifully, smells lovely. Bought few more Christmas bits, almost there . Again not exciting
but just day to day life.Wow sounds very cold and even wet in other parts of the country. Keep warm and cosy folks

Scafolding and towers came done today. The higher levels facias/soffits/guttering are all but complete. Tony, the fitter, will be back on Monday to finish of the lower level work. On Tuesday the next crew arrive to fit our new porch. The trouble with having work done on the house you feel that at least one of you have to be there all the time. Tony was very greatful for Margaret providing tea and coffee at regular intervals. He said that he was on one job for three days and the lady of the house didn't even speak to him!!!

Sounds like good going. Yes we aslyways like at least one of us at home when work carried out, regardless of whether its indoors or outdoors. I think everyone works better when they feel appriecayed, pass the time of day minimum and surely its a well known
fact that the wheels of industry turn in tea or coffee. There's some funny folks around, noir coiunting on here0 -
So, how can we make it more exciting ???

Perhaps tigerfish would like us to argue with each other or have a good moan about something or someone

I did a longish post yesterday about a few things, then lost it when I got timed out, so lost the will to do it over again!
Yesterday was mixed rain and sun, we had a sprinkling of snow on the Campsie Hills.
Ordered up new shower hose and thermostatic cartridge for our en-suite, second new cartridge in 29 years, they don't make them like they used to! Other 2 showers are OK, but do not get as much use these days.
Got delivery of 2 sets of ironmongery to make pan drawers for D D's kitchen, now need to sort materials for the bases and backs and figure out how to assemble it all.

We had a carpenter here today, fitting new doors, kept him well hydrated with cups of tea. He was also saying he was doing a job recently, took a few days and the chap didn't speak to him all the time he was there!
