One hour of the working day gone but no orders so far. That suits me. Nice to enjoy a bit of relaxation.
Before I started receiving my state pension, I needed the work. Now the boot's on the other foot. I need time off to relax and go on holiday!

We have two of our grandchildren aged 6 and 2 (plus mum + Dad) whilst the sale of their new house goes through, wish we only had one day left with them (lol) its hard work at the moment.
All part of life's rich tapestry. One day..................... You'll look back on it and laugh or cry
True but at the moment its crying
It will pass, we had similar a few years ago thought we'd fall apart forever. We survived, twasn't easy. Deep breaths, walk away find a quiet spot - our room was sacred and long walks. It'll make you stronger but the path is long and at times tenuous/horrendous.
BUT you are all well warm fed and healthy. Do you have a date yet or shouldn't I ask? Can you take off in your 'van for a breather? No definate date yet but Solicitor has said approx 8-10 weeks which puts us right on top of Christmas/New year so will be 2017 before they move. have suggested getting away but wife not kean with the weather changing.

I've just lost my post saying similar! Sell, my sister and brother in law have just had one of their sons and family with them. One of their survival techniques was retreating to their bedroom at 8pm, closing the door and escaping for part of the evening.
All over now, house found just in time for new baby arriving!Happy Birthday to your Mum TG, hope you all have a nice time.
Some good ideas there, but think i will be sending them to their rooms at 8pm so can have more space. thanks for that.
guess will miss them when they have gone.

Lovely day until about 3pm today so finally got out to clean the caravan. It looked pretty good until you got up to roof level and
all the stuff that gets stuck to the mastic in the heki areas. Spent a bit longer on it than I intended but all set now to take it out and get it dirty again.0 -
We just did our second delivery today. As there were no more orders, we're now back at the caravan. It's a lovely sunny afternoon but a bit too cold to sit out in the awning. Nice and comfortable in the caravan with the heating on though!
Before going out on the delivery we had a quiet period when we had some tea and scones in the caravan.
Earlier, we were in town for the Wednesday market. We bought a 2 kilo leg of lamb from the mobile butcher for £16. So it's roast lamb for dinner tonight. We also bought some carrots, tomatoes, aubergines and garlic from the vegetable market. It made a change from supermarket shopping. However, I had to go to Tesco to get some Bisto gray granules for tonights roast lamb.
A KFC order has just come so now off to another delivery!

I missed where you are staying Oneputt but it sounds lovely.
I've been with my daughter on a tour of ironmongers etc in Crewkerne today. Ronnie Barker got his "four candles" idea from a previous shop there, he had a holiday home nearby. I have to say the one today was very good, a real Aladin's Cave, nice to find good old fashioned shops still exist.

We had our son and girlfriend to stay for a few weeks prior to their move overseas. All of their possessions took over most of what is a big house. We escaped to the caravan eventually and left them and their stuff too it.
We heaved a big sigh of relief when the packing cases were picked up.
Miss them now though

We're at KFC Broadwater at the moment. Lovely sunset but rapidly losing light. It looks like they re-opened Poulters Lane at last!

To all those going through (maybe) a stressful time with extra family in the house - I've always found the bath the best place to get away and relax. You are (usually) uninterrupted.
Another thought as we keep the caravan on the drive we could retire there for a few hours, only problem there is all the Grandkids christmas presents are in there so no room for us.

When my daughter and toddler Grandson were living with us, we tried to escape to the caravvan. Closely followed by a little boy who thought it great fun, and asked "which is the biscuit cupboard". Eighteen years later he still has a nose for the biscuit

Back home now from the celebrations. Mum had a lovely time having her 3 babies with her my brother who lives down south and hasn't
seen her or us in 3 years graced us with his presence . Would have been nice to have all the 5 grand kids and 8 great grand kids there
but none of them live here, they are spread all over the world. Many thanks to all who wished Mum a happy birthday, she did indeed have a happy day.

That's more like it, Malcolm!
Hope you've also given up on that tenting nonsense......you and Mrs M deserve better at your time of life.

Malcolm - I seem to recall seeing a butchers shop in a shopping precinct in Worthing who sold bulk buys on trays for remarkably low prices.

So glad your Mum had such a good day. She deserves it. She has reached a great milestone.

It looked a lovely day outside today........unfortunately I never got chance to go out
......it was one of my volunteer days at CAB and I had my head down researching a couple of quite complicated client cases, with multiple issues......The clients' thanks were ample reward though

Went to see the new Bridget Jones film today (some funny moments) Afterwards, about 4.30pm, we decided have a meal at Bella Italia as we had a money off code. Arrived at the restaurant and only one table in use. Therefore a bit surprised that we were approached
by a member of staff with a clipboard who asked if we had booked which seemed a bit odd. Fortuantely they found us space but within half an hour the restaurant was absolutely packed. What we had failed to realise that the popular MK Theatre is virtually next
door and and the theatregoers were having a meal before their booked performance. The waiter said that it would be empty by 7.00pm!!!David

Yes we have been to that Bella Italia before going to the MK theatre. Its very popular.

Another fine start to the day. Drove into Gathouse of Fleet and although Cardoness Castle was closed we walked along the bank of the Fleet to Port MacAdam and then up onto Trusty's Hill to view Pictish Stone. Onto the Mill on the Fleet and, after lunch,
a walk through Cally Woods. Clouded up in the afternoon and wind has now turned to SW, so prospect of rain tomorrow. That’s a nice part of the country NTH, we stayed at a CL near Castle Douglas last year.
I hope it stays dry for you.
Which one was that, nevers. We're on Drummucklock Fm, part of the Cardoness Estate. Great value at £10 pn, with H/S & EHU plus a good view. Move on to a CL on the Rhinns of Galloway tomorrow.
We stayed at Molance Farm, just a couple of miles to the east of Castle Douglas.
It looks like you have enquired about it in the past NTH,
We were going to stop there on the way back on the last trip out but we had to head home before getting there, and so had to cancel. We decided to miss it out this time as it didn't fit in too well when we came back on this trip.

We got back to our caravan about half an hour ago following the last delivery. Hopefully, there'll be no more tonight because we've got the lamb in the oven with some olive oil and fresh thyme. After an hour we need to get the potatoes and vegetables in
for roasting for the last hour. So it should be ready by 22:30. Then there's the gravy to be made and we have some mint sauce and mustard to go with it. There's also a bottle of red wine to go with it!0 -
Had first rain for over a week, which can't be bad for the SW of Scotland at this time of the year. However it only lasted for a short while and then the sun came out again. Move further west from Cardoness Estate to near Stranraer for a few nights here,
before heading back homewards.0 -
