Where to, Millieh ?? ASDA or Lidl, Sainsburys or Aldi ??
Took aged sister out to ASDA this morning, stocked up with general goodies & a load of food for her moggy. Then on return to her home, the Personal alarm folks rang up wanting her to do a check on its functioning.
All ok, but she was reminded to wear it all the time when in the house / garden. She has the habit of putting it "Somewhere Safe & Dry" whilst she does the washing up, then forgets to pick it up again, so I've offered
to tie a knot in the corner of her left ear to remind her. Didn't seem too keen on that idea for some reason

Beautiful day here yesterday - sunny with not a cloud in the sky so took the grandsons to Ferry Meadows to the new Badger Play Park - very impressed. Today has been cloudier but very warm and humid. Nice breeze though so the washing dried in no time. Went
into town this afternoon and enrolled for my course at The Adult Education College and did some shopping. We are off to Cromer a week tomorrow and have had a cry for help to look after the grandchildren at the beginning of the week. I am now panicking wondering
when on earth I am going to get ready!!0 -

Been there & done it BB. You will be surprised what your friendship & loyalty will mean to your friends, at a time when the shifting sands of fate are controlling their lives you will be an anchor in the unknown. Hang in there(as you are doing) & just offer
support. When it's all to the good again you will find out just what a difference you made. Good luck to them & respect to you for your support.thanks Rocky.....
unfortunately, some bad news just now... the poor lad has had to have a leg amputated in order to save his life...must still be severe vascular issues i guess....
OH and i just about to have dinner but lost the appetite now....
what can you say to someone who has just started to get close to his grown up son (40) after many years of 'not getting on'....
still no wiser as to the cause, but thats all faded away now....
i hope the next post will be a little more hopeful...

So very sorry to hear this BB. As others have said all you can do at the moment is to be a good listening ear. I do hope there will be some more hopeful news soon.

Not so good today weather wise, very windy and overcast, just had a wee shower. Trying to get van packed up for the off tomorrow morning, again weather doesn't look good for next week and we will be on a canal boat

Gave the van a quick clean and hoover, got all the washing dry. Friend called round for a catch up chat, then eldest son brought his car for his Dad to take for mot.Good job it passed as he was off to Bristol this afternoon!
Tonight have been sorting a week away for our anniversary in October, looks like it will be Cornwall, hoping it will be quieter by then.

BB, what do you say?, me I'd say-'better no leg than no life' it won't be easy but it'll work. Just look at the war casualties in the armed forces & how they face adversity. Life is a lottery, they have their Son-result. You just be the voice of positivity,
sure they'll get lows, you'll stop them getting too low just by your support & presence. It's what friends are for. We are the pit props of Human suffering. Keep on keeping on.0 -
yes, of course youre right....we had just had this discussion...folk do survive, get over tragedy and move on..
in fact, the picture of the Honda Goldwing trike i sent to TG the other day is owned by my cousin who lost a leg after falling out of 'big wheel' funfair ride as a youth....he has still had a wonderful life with a wonderful family and has done (pretty much)
everything the rest of us have.....yes, we'll be as positive as we can....

this is a thread about celebrating the (hopefully) good things we all do and wish to share, my original post only came on the back of a purely coincidental 'air ambulance landing' where we were staying last weekend....and the following morning we heard X
had to ferried away in the same way....so, other than any significant change, i wont 'hog' this thread as i see it as a more upbeat string....

Sorting out a few things before going away next week.
Painting finished....though OH has found a few little areas I missed.....they will be fine till we get back.
DD's car taken for service and MOT, and fairly large bill passed to her! 3 new tyres, broken coil spring, 4 new bulbs.
Caravan all washed outside and inside cleaned out ready for packing.
Trip slightly replanned to take in as many MH dealers as possible, starting with the one that has the Hymer we are keen to see.
Off now to clean out the car....where does all the sand and mess come from?!

Had a nice new "Smart Meter" fitted this evening, so I've turned fone & TV off, now its turn-off time for this P.C. then I'll sit there watching the Handy, Friendly Control Panel for the rest of the evening. Well I was
told it will cost me approx Three New Pence per annum to run it -- if I'm Paying, then I'm Watching !!

OH back at the doctor's today for blood test results. All ok and doc's pleased with BP level too. She's to carry on with the tablets and go back in 6 months for her next blood test.
Warm but cloudy most of the day so we went to the sea-side for a walk along the shore. Heavy rain this evening though!

Well it's 1st September and time to start things up again. First practice tonight of my choir from Brewood, Staffs. Chistmas music out of the cupboard!! (Brewood Singers).
Tomorrow Tamworth U3A choir restart tomorrow afternoon.
Tomorrow night we start back at Polesworth Abbey Choir with a choir BBQ. Fingers crossed for some good weather.

Still busy enjoyable here!!!! NZ days are very limited now . Now second day of spring. Last day of winter was 18c. There's been cold bright days and cool grey days, last Monday but as one thermometer said 12c but it felt cooler even without a wind! If
this is winter I'm not complaining. Today sunshine and drizzle but 17c. Didn't feel the earthquake, no real damage anywhere thankfully, tsunami warnings lifted after five hours but advised not to enter the water on the east coast as precaution.Home and into autumn take off 0015, hopefully! 12 hours approx flight 3 hours in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysian air fares saved £600 plus on our fav Singapore, not to be sneezed at and reasonable service) then 12 hours to Heathrow to land, hopefully, 1635 on
the same day. Then car pick up home hopefully M25 behaves and about an hour to home to discover what jungle garden looks like - we might live in the driest area but it will be overgrown. Then there's the post to go through, hopefully junk mail has been discarded.
This is a very hopeful post!!Baby granddaughter getting a routine and eldest one is a delight. Now really enjoying family time as things have settled down. OH has painted all ceilings over 3200m2, as they were off white, hasn't shown up deco! We've hacked shrubs and trees and the
house and garden are now just maintance, just right for raising the girls.The family off to Fiji the day after we leave, just about waited for our exit......... For r&r they reckon - 3 hour flight 90 minute transfer the other end, with a 2 1/2 year old and 3 month old oh and because of flight time overnight in Auckland. You
have to love them .Son and partner arrive at our house on Saturday morning for evening wedding party and wedding on Sunday won't leave until late Monday, they think recovery time will be needed , it will be lovely to catch up with them. Boys (our boy anyway) doesn't communicate
like girls!!Enjoy your days whatever they involve -take care folks
