    I don't think it's all strange. I've still got all my OU books etc from when I took my degree nearly 30 yrs ago. Never know when I'll need them!!

    Write your comments here...

    At least you have them at your house and have not left them in someone else's loft NTH.Smile

    I thought that I might have been able to pass them on to the grandson, but he decided to take music not geology, oops sorry, Earth Science, so our daughter didn't want them for him, hence the reason for holding onto them.

    Finished off the cleaning in the caravan... all the cupboards, doors, drawers & work surfaces polished, and the fridge clean out. Only floor covering to lay and cushions to cove, then we'll be ready for the off again.

    Just use straw. Bedding, Fodder and mucking out all covered in one go and it's kind to your MTPLM. Wink

    We've packed away the front and sides of the awning in readiness for our trip to Chipping Sodbury tomorrow. Now just the rest of the awning to take down and pack away.

    There was a County Fair on in Worthing, so we didn't have to start work until 4 p.m.

    Will go get the caravan out of storage today and park it up on the driveway for a scrub up, polish and a few additional modifications inside to make life easier. Away to 'Ayr Craigie Gardens' for 10 nights next Monday.

    Believe the weather might not be as good as we are having now Sad

    Just tried to book a CL for a night before our trip to France mid September. We spotted it while down in Kent earlier this year and it looked very nice.

    Fully booked - darn it! Sad

    Might have to resort to the dreaded BHF again (how come ferry pitches are no cheaper than the bigger ordinary pitches?)

    We used 'Little Rhode farm' earlier this year, 25 minutes from the tunnel and its a well kept, level and spacious site with all facilities.

    Have heard thunder rolling around in the east, the Dorset Steam Fair will be in that direction, a friend has gone there with her van. It's very close and humid. I have been cutting back overgrown shrubs around our front windows, found a blackbirds nest. The nest had some strange thin blue peices of plastic woven in, I tracked it too an old woven cover on our little boat, the cover is fraying and the blackbird must have carried it up for the nest. I also found white birch bark inside, aren't nests fascinating?!

    Yes  indeed, Brue,  the  G D S F  was **  in  that  direction  but  most  fortunately  I  had  returned  to  my  "Steam  Rally  Home"  and  was  able  to  watch  the  rain  pouring  off  my  wind-out  awning  !!  I  always  have  one  corner  lower  than  t'other  to  avoid  it  "bellying"  so  the  water  spout  (!)  hurtled  off  and  made  land  fall  by  the  neighbouring  tenters  car  door.  His  own  fault  for  being  so  close --  I'd  told  him  about  the  incident  at  Broadway  but  he  said  he  had  only  a  tent  so  it  did  not  concern  him.  {  BERK  !! }

    Hope  your  friend  had  as  good  a  time  as  I did  !!

     {  **  of  course  it's  over  for another  12  months  now  but  plenty  of  smaller  shows  to  act  as  appetizers  Wink  }

    I didn't realise spacing on number plates could be a reason to fail an MOT. Given the number of the stupid personalised plates you see trying to spell out names, there must be an awful lot of dodgy motors out there! Laughing

    They are cracking down as the Police now enjoy sitting in laybys (with a doughnut?) catching motorists driving past by watching ANPR systems.

    Incorrect spacing fools it.

    The dealers mot man said that the police in our county are having a real purge ,and as stated by Fysherman they are not recognised by ANPR cameras,which is now the main way that "illegel"vehicles are picked up,our town has them on all routes in and out

    Back home lunchtime after a brilliant long weekend at Upton, emptied the van and then off to work this afternoon. Catching up with the news on here while waiting for the washing machine to finish.

    Came home with some Damsons we picked, all ready to make some Damson Gin for Christmas. ?

    Upton is a nice place to visit Helen. I must pick our damsons soon, have had a glut of some things this year and not much from others, plums thank goodness, always too many!

    Glad to hear ABM got to the DSF ok, I think our friend will have enjoyed it, she goes every year with a group of pals.

    Busy day here, glad to sit down for the evening! Smile

    Dentist this morning for both of us. Results not too good, as we've both to have a couple of fillings.Will have to wait nearly 2 weeks to get the job done, so that means a delay inn setting off on our next trip.Sad On
    the bright side, all covers are now on the cushions so at least the vans ready for the off.Happy

    Oh dear not good, it must be awful for your friends. As you say progress will be slow, once they have the bleeding under control things should start to improve, fingers crossed for him. The only thing you can do is be a good friend.

    Been there & done it BB. You will be surprised what your friendship & loyalty will mean to your friends, at a time when the shifting sands of fate are controlling their lives you will be an anchor in the unknown. Hang in there(as you are doing) & just offer
    support. When it's all to the good again you will find out just what a difference you made. Good luck to them & respect to you for your support.

    It's turned into a glorious afternoon after a drab wet start to the day down here on the north Cornish coast. Mrs M is about to don her wetsuit and splash around down in the surf, while the dogs and myself stick to dry land and go along the coastal path.

    Last night we went to see the local am-dram production of The Vicar of Dibley. A hilarious evening and given that the cast of less than 10 kept it going for pretty much 3 hours they have my full admiration. Happy

    Has it gone a bit quieter in Cornwall yet? Our schools have in service days at the end of the week so won't be back til Monday. My son and family are camping down on the Trevalgan site near St Ives just now.

    It's still pretty busy down here, brue. The site we're on has pretty much emptied out but over at Haven Perran Sands it still looks, shall we say, cosy! Plenty of folk still in the sea but it's getting a bit easier to park and drop Mrs M off and then pick
    her up again! Happy
