Glad to hear that David, I did wonder if you would still be speaking to me but then you have not used the sides yet Just joking though
as although its not as easy as we at first hoped its still easier than the cconventional awning and very useful on longer stays.David
There's no getting away from what, I'm sure will be the most difficult thing - the pegging!!!

We're starting to think about our next trip away. It will only be for three nights and the only criteria my husband has suggested is "somewhere sunny" . I'm not sure how we will find that within two hours of South Lakes at the end of September.

Is anyone else having trouble with getting email alerts for the discussions that they are following? I haven't had any email alerts for this thread for about 2 weeks now. I emailed Rochelle last week and she replied that she had alerted the IT dept but
I am still not getting them.I don't think I have any marked for emails at the moment, but I'm certainly having problems today. I thought I'd have a go at writing up a 'story' of our recent visit to Germany, France and Italy (see
HERE), but laptop keeps crashing. I only have CC website and photobucket open. I'm trying to add photos to the comment boxes, as I did in 2014 - it seems the best way of adding photos to stories, but I'm about to give up this afternoon
and leave it to another day. I've resorted to the phone now!!David

Thanks David. Hoping to catch up with your latest trip when our granparent duty is finished. One more night and day to go - feeling shattered now.

Dull day, not doing anything of interest. The new beds that we have are ottoman style so we have been busy buying storage boxes to fit in them and repack all our 'other season clothes' even after another sort out we still have far too much in the way of
clothes. Really need someone to come and tell me I don't need them. OH just back from physio, who has now decided that he has to rest it,
not do anymore of the excersises he had prviously set him. On top of that he now thinks he should see a Consultant, OH going to give our GP a call in the morning but guessing he won't be too keen on refering him, even if he does how long it will take to see
a consultant is anybodies guess, might have to go private0 -

Just back from shopping trip for the weekend, now waiting for eldest son to arrive. Got round to baking a cake this morning, hoping there will be some left to take away with us this weekend, best go and hide the tin before son gets here!
Hope you find somewhere "sunny" for your break Goldie.

Goldie, it's said that farmers have a "weather eye" so you're husband should be able to tell when the next dry period is going to occur. Just go on his say so. You can them blame him it it turns out wet!!

It managed to stay fine and warm till about an hour ago here. OH had an appointment with clinic nurse for a blood test this morning, and manged to fit in a visit to the hairdressers and the bank as well before lunch. It then took me all afternoon just to
clean the roof of the caravan, to my satisfaction. We'd been parked under a tree on one CL and the falling sap had made a right mess of it. All done now so I can carry on with the rest of the van the next fine day.0 -
Here we go again!!

Mr H has perfected the art of cleaning the sky light by making up the front bed, standing on it and leaning out with his long handled brush. He thinks it will save him the job of cleaning the roof but I have other ideas! .

Dull early on but not bad in the afternoon. No painting however as DD had asked us to make scones for an "afternoon tea" at her friend's hen party this weekend.
Having given her our original Kenwood Chef, we bought a cheap mixer from Lidl just in case we needed one. Had not used it till today, and found that the mixing bit does not go far enough down into the bowl to rub in the butter effectively.
Quick trip needed to borrow back the Kenwood, so scones were eventually made. Half have gone to the party, the other half now in our freezer.......apart from the ones we had to test of course.
Supposed to be good weather tomorrow, so I will be back up that ladder again no doubt.

Finished polishing the car yesterday. I even gave the tyres a going over with some tyre paint to smarten them up after all those grass pitches/ country tracks. Shame about the scruffy driver.
Today we are having a ton and a half of manure delivered to our local church for the flower beds, so a fair bit of shovelling. What you might call a 'crap' job.

Frustrating day yesterday for a number of reasons. At the end of the day we had to take out short term insurance on Daughters car so we could swop, I'm with LV cost to insure SIL for week £12, Daughter with Hastings cost to insure me for a week, £47, daylight
robbery. Ended the day with with a nice carry out and a couple of scoops0 -

Nice day down here, probably the best day to go out as the B/H weekend looks a bit rainy. Middle grandson had gcse results yesterday, slight panic over one of the grades but looks as though he'll be able to join his college plumbing and electricians course
(they opt for one or the other after a year) without any retakes. OH has booked a family trip on the West Somerset Railway in early September so looking forward to a day out.0 -
Another sunny day here in Worthing. The last few days have been extremely hot and sunny. Really missing the aircon now. At least there's a large tree next to our awning and we have our picnic table and relaxers outside, under the tree. So most of our time
is spent outside the awning, in between deliveries. At least the car aircon works well so it's more comfortable at work than in our caravan!0 -

The start of our Bank Holiday weekend. Work might be busy! I bet this site will be full by tonight!

Managed to shift the pile of manure before the scheduled wedding today. There's never a dung beetle around when you need one.

Spent the day touring round the City and docks of London (no - not the Old Bailey Dock) Up the tower bridge for a giddying view of the traffic and pedestrians below. Round St Katherines dock, saw the Queen's river barge. On through to Wapping High Street
via the various walkways on the river banks.Saw a few churches but now sitting in back garden with a very large glass of red in my hand. Phew!0 -
Nellie, OH climbs on the roof of our van and gives it a good dooing at the begining of the season and again at the end, the rest of the time its just the sides and cab that get a wash.
TG, I clean the van from top to bottom, and throughout after each trip.... that's just my way. I can manange to reach across the roof from the top step of my steps, but would not try to climb off them onto the roof.

It's not nice having to do resits and be hanging around till those results come through to find out what ones going to do.

A fresher day today, with a breeze that kept the temperature comfortable. Finished cleaning the outside of the caravan before lunch and then followed on by cleaning the car this afternoon. Feelling the aches and pains now.
