Another very warm day, painted the remaining kitchen walls, then trip to our local recycling centre, took a short detour to check out a new CL close to where we store our van. Looked ok, may give it a try for a weekend .
Have been chilling in the garden with a glass of wine tonight.
Write your comments here..Missed your report on your East Anglia jaunt. Did you and T enjoy it Helen?
Yes, it was great, thanks Wherenext. Lovely area, didn't get round to seeing and doing everything, will have to pay a second visit. Thankyou
for the ideas for Suffolk, and we really liked Briarwood CL.0 -
Yesterday evening, we saw the More Radio event going on at Steyne Gardens which we passed by several times whilst doing deliveries. It was absolutely packed with people, stalls and kiosks selling everything from cold beer to fish and chips, burgers etc. Plenty of loud music, mostly Michael Jackson songs as the event was supposed to be a tribute to Michael Jackson. There was also a fun fair going on at the sea front right opposite Steyne Gardens. So crowds of people and bright lights everywhere right up until late at night. It reminded me of Blackpool during the illuminations!
There was also a carnival at Broadwater Green with huge attendance there. They closed Ardsheal road because of it. Worthing has certainly come to life since the start of the school holidays! If you're a family with kids, this is definitely the place to be!

It's the last day of pur current tour. This morning we drove the short distance to Montgomery, a charming old fashioned border town with loads of quirky shops and a spectacularly sited ruined castle. Perched on an even higher hill, way above the town, is
the Montgomeryshire War Memorial. It's quite a stiff climb to get up there but the reward is the most glorious 360° panorama view over the surrounding countryside, both sides of the border.Just going to have a relaxed afternoon doing a bit of sorting out in the van and working out a route for our journey home tomorrow.

BB.....we also have a fence to paint (the one I put up last year).
Bought the preservative weeks ago (we also went for green ) but I'm blowed if I'm doing it in this heat.....
much cooler today, great for painting........all this early rising playing havoc with my 'social' life.....
back inside now as rain has stopped play.....

we have just returned from a very nice weekend at Lomond Woods in Loch Lomond. The weather yesterday was decent so I went a 35 miles cycle up to Tarbert and back which was very nice the scenery from the cycle route was great. Managed to have a BBQ last night
the campsite was very busy and it was nice to see a lot of foreign visitors. Had a nice hours drive home today but wet here now.0 -

The last time we stayed in that area was 25 years ago, I suspect that things have changed a bit but the views were still amazing.

Decided that after our successful bird watching in East Anglia, decided to take a trip out to Sandwell Valley rspb reserve and country park. A real oasis on the edge of Birmingham, dogs on leads allowed too. Had
a lovely walk round the park after sitting in the Hide watching all the ducklings. Cup of tea in the visitor centre, where we watched the crafty squirrels on the bird feeders, birds didn't seem to mind either!0 -
Malcolm, when we were walking through Welshpool yesterday we passed an opticians called "Mehta Opticians". It's a very unusual name - any relative of yours?
Write your comments here...I don't know of any relative living in that area, so I guess not. I have family relations that live in Wiltshire and a nephew in London and a nephew that lives in France near Paris.

Flew down to Leicester Airfield today. A really busy place, including loads of helicopters.
Nice flight, but talk about hot and sweaty!
Ian , do you have a Favorite airfield to fly from or to ??, or area to fly over?
Not really. A decent length runway is always good (neither my mate nor I are lightweights, so we like a good run at the take off! ) and tarmac
is preferred over grass runways if it has rained a lot.I do like flying over the Cotswolds area and enjoy visiting Wellesbourne Mountford (near Stratford).....both by air and by road (they do a great breakfast )
but otherwise we like places with something to see, such as a museum or plenty of interesting aircraft.0 -
Henry came to visit us just now (first time we've seen her since we got back from holiday). She's lost another of her young......down to four now.....dammit!
They are getting bigger and are growing their feathers.......every passing day should make them safer from predators.

I've just got up to a lovely sunny morning here in Worthing. I've opened up all the windows and there's a nice cool breeze coming into our caravan. Just made a pot of tea which is brewing as I type this.

I had a lovely evening yesterday. My daughter and myself had a lovely meal in a Bistro we found in Liverpool before going to see Jools Holland in concert. Apart from the usual appearance of Ruby Turner, guest singers were Louise Marshal and Selector. A great
evening.0 -
We love Jools Holland too Whittaker. We went to see him in Milton Keynes a few weeks ago - same line up. Wonderful evening.

Going to the bank today to pay in the weekend's earnings and then due to start work at 12 noon as usual so we'll be having lunch sometime between 11 and 11:30 this morning. At the moment, I'm sitting in the relaxer in the awning. It's starting to get warmer
so will probably be too hot soon. However, there is some cloud today so the sun is in and out.0 -
It was a rather busy weekend - usual farm work, plus some reseeding on Saturday. And we had visitors both days (from as far away as Yorkshire and Australia!).
Saurday night we went to Sedbergh for a meal at The Three Hares (wonderful - try it if you're up here) as today is our 46th Wedding Anniversary. No time to celebrate today though - back to the grindstone.

Stopped for a pre-lunch coffee break 'cos the new fridge for my 'van has arrived !!
Taken 45 mins to unpack it -- it's too wide to come thro the inner doorway so its a case of release this bit
then run round the house and attack it from the other side, then repeat it again & again -- after lunch it's connection & trial time. Then, maybe, just maybe I'll think of a salad tea like any happy bunny should !!At least it is not too hot to work and/or run L O L !!
