If the CC head office are instructing the wardens to back pedal on enforcing Head Office's own current site rules, including the pitching rules, what guidance have they given the poor wardens as to what specifically to ignore.

If no guidance has been given then there will be as many interpretations of the CC site rules as there are wardens.

Surely if CC head office feel that the current rules are no longer relevant, they should, for reasons of clarity, publish a complete new amended set of rules which they want implemented across their network of sites.  That way there will be complete standardisation
no matter which CC site a customer chooses.

    Cool

I totally agree. This is what I said in my earlier replies.

The danger with the instruction "to use your discretion " to the wardens is open to individual interpretation and that isn't any good for anyone. I can't see the need for this post to go any further now after Rochelle's reply. So when visiting club sites
I will do as I always do and do everything right. Including now what Rochelle has said and approach the warden to ask and then maybe contact the club to take it further.

    ...the closest one to you.....Undecided

...and offside is when the linesman's flag goes upWink

For those who are confused ,the Nearside is the left hand side when sitting in the driving seat and looking forward ,and the offside is the right hand side , but so many people get that wrong , hopefully people know which is left and rightWink

How does the warden know that Harry is such an experienced vanner ?

Because on his membership card, which the wardn will have looked at while booking him in, has the years of membership printed on it. Simples!!

Mine says 28 years but I still get the lecture. Just how long do you have to be a member to avoid the lecture.

I do get the point and it can cause problems if wardens say nothing even if pitching wrongly does not cause a problem. I am thinking of situations like where someone has the last pitch on the left of a row and pitches to the left of the post so there is
no one further that side to cause a problem. The warden can see it is not a problem but the rest of us can see it is wrong. We would not know if the warden had said anything and let it go.

Laughing  As a matter of interest how far out were you?

The post was more like the middle of the caravan ..... but there wasn't anyone to our left, only a hedge, which meant I didn't have room to get down the side of the caravan anyway.

Kind of Wink but wasn't brave enough to say that
Innocent. I knew we'd be wrong the first time as I'd to reverse back on myself into a space that was less than 90 degs from the road, so it
was a good chance I'd have some shuffling to do.

If situation like that presents its self to me ,its would be stop on road ,  unhook  ,turn car and hitch van to front hook easy peasy and no "advise"needed from "THINGY"Smile

I did it in two goes ... not bad really. And SWMBO could be forgiven as she was hobbling round on a pair of crutches .... broke her foot & she didn't even know Innocent

But isn't the car then travelling the wrong way on the one way road in contravention of the 'Rules'  Innocent

While on site in York (Beechwood) looking from our pitch, the one next door was pitched wrong side of the peg, as was the guy opposite him.  Looking to our left the guy opposite on a non awning pitch was parked on the peg but put his car on the grass between him and the pitch to his left, rather than put it on the gravel pitch where it should have been. When we checked in the lady warden went through everything as usual, yet folk still get it wrong, are they not listening or are they just to thick.Undecided

Write your comments here...Sounds like the Warden team are failing to carry out their duties. -----Im sure Head Office would be interested in your observation.
