i some times wonder if some people on here ever had a childhood ? most of you must have been born old and grumpy or perhaps you may not have had children ? perhaps the club could have loads of adults only sites. we all stand more of a chance going to the
supermarket and getting some idiot banging into our cars with there doors and shopping tolleys now that is something to moan about.0 -

I'm not saying that sites shouldn't allow children to play or ride their bikes, as a parent of a 5 year old I understand their needs but my child plays within the club rules and if he doesn't he gets told off and if he continues to break the rules (on purpose)
he is disapline. I think some parents fail to do this and that's why we have problems/incidents on sites.0 -

Write your comments here... But that's because most of the people who ding other people's doors disappear and don't take responsibility for what they have done. If you caught someone doing it and they tried to make off you would look at it differently (maybe)

Depends whether accidental or deliberate

It doesn't matter either way, if someone damages something belonging to you they should cover the costs to have it put right. If they don't and try and make off then it would be worth involving the law
you mean the 8 yr old cycled off without leaving any contact deatails?????? No wonder you got plod involved!

true on all counts, until you have kids its is really difficult to understand what looking after that actually means, and how people without them can actually give extremly simplistic advice to those that have is beyond me.
Club sites, as you say, are probably the safest place to cycle on. However the younger the child the more supervision it needs

Caravan sites are very unsafe places for kids to be playing on the roads and it seems very irresponsible of people to suggest otherwise. There are large motor vehicles and people towing huge trailers driving around - how can that be safe?
No, the bottom line seems to be that parents just cannot be bothered to take them to somewhere more appropriate.

Part of being a responsible parent is allowing children to explore a safe environment without close supervision depending on age etc
However when my kids were younger we did not take their bikes to club sites because driving standards are generally quite poor. Apart from the speeding I tend to see an awful lot of poor observation and some reaction times that are slower than ideal.

Well fortunately (for some) most of the little blighters will be back at school this week. Thank goodness for the dedicated and hard working teaching staff who provide youngsters with a safe and disciplined environment ( and stop them cycling around the
playgrounds at breakneck speed in random directions! )0 -

the tarmac 'roads' on site aren't really roads are they? how many times do you see people in dressing gowns and crocs working down the middle of your local road?

.... Please parents play your part, the wardens do their best but they are not resposible for your children, could you just imagine pulling into a site and bang you have a bump with a small child
But as the driver, as long as you keep to 5mph & are able to stop, the worse that will happen is that they bang into your stationary vehicle, they're on holiday too.
9m long? Our outfit is 43' long (don't do metric if I can avoid it)
Write your comments here...I tow a trailer behind the camper

Can I just say that I have no probs with kids or kids on bikes on site, I was trying to make a point on how guilty the driver, moving or stopped and the wardens would feel if a serious accident accured
