Why does he have to have his fire when your next door neighbour says so?

My answer to one such busybody was  '360 days of the year I keep you happy by not lighting a fire, so for 5/6 days I will please myself and have one'.

    Learn to live with it!.

Judging by the queues for jabs, most youngsters are taking up the offer, it's strange that there's still  group of older people nationwide who won't, (I'm not talking about those who can't) I just hope more can be persuaded over the next few weeks.

That's most unusual for that site, but I suppose with so many new LV owners about the odd one or two will find those sort of CLs, unfortunately. But reading your other post they won't put you off the area, I'm sure.

Just reading about the massive delays at the container port in China where the province has a Covid outbreak. The vaccination programme has  been slow, but might be catching up now? Can't work out the percentages in a billion plus population! Looks like goods arriving here will be even more delayed.

Here you go, happy to provide information for the ignorant.....

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nuisance-smells-how-councils-deal-with-complaints

Five days running, burning all sorts of refuse, including rubber waste, smoke billowing for hours. Everyone having to take in washing, keep house windows closed (it’s 26c here).

It’s patently obvious some places will tolerate unthinking and unsocial behaviour, however where I live isn’t like that. He was politely asked to be a bit more caring and respectful of others, and, happily he is being so, I call that a success. Everyone still friends, no need to make a formal complaint.

Little people are catching Covid too. Our grandson in London has to isolate for ten days because his best mate and others in the class have got the disease. It looks as though the Head teacher will have to shut that whole class down - they are all only eight years old and too young for vaccination.

Reuters estimate about 11% of the Russian population have had vaccinations based on people having had both vaccinations, so about 16 million out of 144 million population. There are reports of more vaccine scepticism in Russia which might be the reason for the low figures. Whilst I am sure that organisations like Reuters really do try to get to the truth I wonder if we can trust  any data coming out of either China or Russia? Russia has only recently added 100,000 deaths from 2020 into their official statistics according the the link above.

I don't think we "know the half of it yet," I feel we've been in a bit of a countrywide bubble. However let's hope we can get on top of it here.

China's figure is 62 per 100 people, similar to Greece,Poland, Finland. UK stands at 105. This is according to New York Times calculator.

Five bonfire incidents. He’s been educated, no swearing, no threatening, just firm guidance. Think the sort a teacher might hand out to someone who just needs a bit of educating around living in close proximity to others, the sort maybe he didn’t get at home as a child. The dog does appear to be be very smart, no bother whatsoever.....

    Close enough. https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/covid-vaccine-tracker-global-distribution/#global

    From Times of Malta "

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Sunday that residents of the Russian capital who get their first coronavirus jab will now take part in a lottery to win a car.

The move comes as authorities seek to speed up Russia's vaccination drive that has stagnated while new infections in Moscow and across the country are on the rise.

"From June 14 until July 11, 2021, citizens who get their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine will become participants in a car lottery," Sobyanin announced on his website.

Every week five cars will be raffled out, each worth around 1 million rubles (€11,500). "

That figure for Russia ties in with those produced by Bloomberg. However they estimate that Mainland China have vaccinated about 30% of the population,  which I suppose agrees with the figure from NYT if they are on a double dose strategy similar to ourselves.

Rate here in Gwynedd gone from 2 to 22 per 100,000 in a couple of weeks and rising. However residents of Wales over 18 have now all been offered a jab.

The circus has left Cornwall. The Presidents and Prime Ministers,, police, security men and reporters have gone - and my grand daughter is left to process all their Covid tests - she is working 12 hour shifts in the big lab in Plymouth. And would you believe she is finding dozens and dozens of positive results. Who would have thought it? Thank you for coming G7.

There were convoys of mini buses, ambulances and police cars heading east on the A30 today.

I fear they have left us parting gifts in addition to memories of disruption.🙁

Hey, I quite like the Muppets! Leave them alone.

Especially those 2 Grumpy G**s in the stalls (Statler and Waldorf). They remind me a lot of some Forum members.laughing
