We have always had our outfits on our property JV. Touch wood, house never touched. We put in place as much security as we can, have family visit it randomly, leave lights on timers, radios on timers, neighbours watch for us, even go in and out if asked. Sometimes we have family house sitters. Same when we go in cottages (oh I was careful there!🤣🤣)

We switch from one type of accommodation to another throughout the year. There has been discussion about finding a nice lodge somewhere if this Covid sticks around.

The aged van is for lolling around holidays in Cornwall really. Just need to get on with it...........😁

Sorry, I should explain more. Van is a work in progress, partly refurbished, lockdown found it out of bounds up at Mum’s early on. We just need to fetch it home, get stuck in. New heaters are in, fire and water, I am planning interior resto, replacing or renovating hob, then exterior all cleaned up and painted. House DIY has sort of got in the way. Plus we need some strong muscles to do the final push onto the drive but we are still keeping away from rest of family who would help.

Caravan lived in St Hilary for years. We used to commute up and down solo, occasionally take it home for some work. Brilliant for a month at a time down there.

1984, a Cotswold Windrush. Only small, but in it’s hey day, a very well built, nicely designed two berth. We have owned it for 26 years, and towed it thousands of miles in all seasons. It owes us nothing, has all we need in terms of comfort, warmth and reliability.

Going, going, gone. Unlike Baltic Wharf the plans by the estate to redevelop the site and install a number of holiday lodges has now been approved. There is no chance it will open again as a touring site unless the estate applies for planning permission to add this on at some future date.

Sad to see another one go, but it never looked like it would end any other way. I’ll have to find another site near the deli there that sells ‘Oxford Blue’.

Sad to see it go but it was in desperate need of updating as a campsite. It is rather surprising that an estate of that size couldn't have had both. Our only hope for the future is that they might develop and overnight parking area for motorhomes in their extensive car park? Otherwise there are good transport links direct from Oxford but staying at the C&CC site would require a change of buses. Obviously not problem if you want to visit just for the day as you can park quite close to the Palace.

The private sector is there and well established for visitors to Blenheim. Greenhill Leisure Park and Diamond Caravan Park are both about 5 miles from Bladon. Those with a car or a motorhome can drive to Blenheim and park there.

I’ve used Diamond and would happily stay there again 👍🏻.

    Oxford C&CC is one I really disliked😕

The club announced earlier in the year that the site was closing.

The new application is nothing to do with CMC so they will not have announced that, to be fair to them they would have no reason to be told of the plans

...if you don't mind a drive in to Oxford, you could always use Lincoln Farm Park.  Stayed there one, but quite a few years ago.

     https://lincolnfarmpark.co.uk/

You could drive to the Pear Tree for the Park and Ride into the city centre.  You used to be able to get Oxford Blue from the Covered Market down the High Street.

We recently drove from Greenhill to Blenheim Palace in the MH, huge car park with us being directed to a convenient spot with easy access and egress.

Darwin Escapes bought a golf club that I occasionally play at and are in the process of installing pre-fabricated “lodges”. It’s a business model that is very common both in the UK and Europe.
