Read somewhere today that Manchester police broke up 660 parties over last weekend.  Why would the idiot party goers want to put our front line services at even greater risk. This chav type behaviour is just inexcusable

I've moderated my language to idiot because I wouldn’t air my real thoughts

Just been on our daily walk over the M6 bridge and the motorway is the exact opposite to JKs Cornwall.

HGVs  outnumbered cars and nothing at all in lane 3. Would  be three lanes solid on a normal Easter Thursday night with many caravans and motorhomes none tonight.

The queue at ASDA this afternoon looked to be well over a hundred people so I did not bother. Even M &  S Food had the longest queue I've seen in the last three weeks but it's a bank holiday after all!

Hopefully folks have got the message in regard to travelling on the M6.

Both house and garden parties including barbecues have taken place. You couldn't credit some people's intelligence, or lack of it. I just wonder what would happen if the Government imposed a stricter lockdown such as they have in France and Spain.

In Italy and Spain the restrictions have been stricter, New Zealand have only had one death, with tighter restrictions. My cousin, living in Dubai tells me they can only go out for food and the pharmacy and to do this they must first have a permit. Our government allows us out for exercise and some just abuse this and others run off to their second homes and on holiday.. It's time to stop the minority being so stupid/selfish, there should be higher fines and they should be issued frequently. If some can't follow advice then they should be told to follow orders.

Agree 100% Debs. Unfortunately now a second MP (this time a government minister who has been on TV frequently telling us to stick to the lock down rules) has been caught out. It's unbelievable. yell

Ps a couple of our neighbours have come down there this weekend, because they had a call from his mother to "advise" that she had a problem with not being able to get essentials that she must have,

He works in a care home, here so is quite aware of the lack of facilities in Cornwall for the elderly,,she at the moment is "working from home" but as she says "no work"

They both say that second home owners almost out number "yokels"in some places,

So far this weekend, the offenders have included a Government Minister, a Labour Peer, and a London family who gave up their main home and drove to Yorkshire for the duration. This freed up their home, rent free, for 3 local hospital Doctors who had had their tenancy terminated and had no new accommodation.

The Police guidance is quite clear and people have been told that they will be stopped. Fines are the last resort and are already set by the legislation. It's a consequence of a democracy in general, and English law in particular. As the QC pointed out in his article this week, you can do anything that you please unless the law forbids it.

The Government confirmed yesterday that if an item is on sale in a shop [legally], then it may be purchased, hence the Chief Constable of Northamptonshire having to recant on his stupid threat to have officers searching shopping trolleys.

You think it's funny for them to break the rules? For the sake of this thread I'll not say what I really think of you and your posts.

I saw a good comment about the virus yesterday.

It said that the spread of the virus depended on two things:

    1. How dense the population is.

    2. How dense the population is.

You heavily edited it, presumably in your embarrassment. However, they are still breaking the rules and making silly excuses for it.

    Now, please take TDA's advice.

So true and we've seen many examples of that density quoted here.

There has been plus sides to this epidemic for some, there always are. One is the kindness, consideration and support shown to others.

As ET says in the times of crisis in the UK ,humour as in all modes, has got most of us through it smile

And what some these days get "upset" and worse about ,is nothing compared to what was taken as acceptable, when in the past ie  WW2 the nation used it to get bywink

But why do two of them need to go JVB?

I have to say the A303 south west this morning is very quiet. Thank you to all who have stayed at home.

Some "humour" is inappropriate though and simply used as an excuse in afterthought.

As for WW2 - few of us have direct experience of that do we?
